Abstract: The noodle gelatinization apparatus holds a plurality of baskets (32) by hanging both their ends on hangers (38) connected to a chain conveyor rollers placed at designated intervals, lays the delivery lane of the chain conveyor in a steam chamber (26) where steam is supplied from its lower part, and passes the baskets through the steam chamber after loading them with noodle strings near an entrance (26a) to the steam chamber. According to the present invention, each of the baskets is a box-shaped body partitioned into a plurality of container compartments with a large number of holes such that each container compartment is capable of containing one serving of noodle strings. Also, hanger support rails are installed spanning between an entrance side and an exit side of the steam chamber. Besides, the basket entering the steam chamber from the entrance side moves toward the exit side (26b), being pushed by the succeeding baskets.
Abstract: An electronic coin checker is proposed which has a coin entry channel, in the region of which a sensor arrangement is disposed, and has a flap-shaped coin switch and a control device. In dependence on the signals of the sensor arrangement, the control device controls the coin switch to accept a coin running through the coin entry channel into an acceptance shaft, or into a return channel to return the coin. The flap-shaped coin switch has a sloping extension inclined towards the runway of the return channel, on which the coin slides away in the return position of the switch, alters its inclination and falls onto the runway of the return channel. The boundary wall, lying opposite the coin switch, of the return channel is configured inclined in the running direction, and thus a further alteration in inclination takes place.

Abstract: A method for preparing a mold form includes forming a mold blank having a surface corresponding to the surface of the article desired and enclosing the mold blank in an open ended enclosure. A thin layer of polymer resin, preferably polyurea is sprayed on the surface of the mold blank and allowed to cure. Heat transfer tubing is inserted over the resin layer. A mixture of metallic pellets and epoxy are inserted over the heat transfer tubing and then another layer of resin is sprayed over the mixture. After the resin has cured, the mold blank is removed to expose the mold form having an outer surface of polyurea.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for identifying and eliminating vibration in a hydraulic clutch actuator. The vibration is identified by using transducers to characterize the vibrational characteristics of a power train of a vehicle. That characterization is used to program a shaker on a test bed to replicate the vibrations on the vehicle in a hydraulic clutch actuator. Different hydraulic dampers may be employed to eliminate the vibration. The preferred apparatus of the present invention includes a two piece hydraulic damper which may be opened as to insert different diaphragms for testing.
Abstract: A tensioning apparatus for a flexible covering mountable to a frame structure having at least one frame member. The tensioning apparatus includes a sleeve having opposed end bores which are oppositely threaded. First and second stubs are fixedly mountable in opposed portions of the frame member with threaded ends extending axially outward into engagement with the bores in the tubular sleeve. Rotation of the tubular sleeve causes axial adjustment of the portions of the frame member relative to each other. In one aspect, a stabilizer rod is fixed to one of the first and second stubs and extensibily projects through the tubular sleeve and the other of the first and second stubs. A set screw may be optionally mounted in the tubular sleeve for fixed engagement with one of the first and second stubs to lock the tubular sleeve in a fixed position.
Abstract: A fluid quick connector includes a connector housing having a through bore adapted to receive a tubular endform. A retainer is transversely mountable through the connector housing into engagement with the endform. A retention clip having at least one angled end projection is carried on the retainer for movement to a final latched position with the endform while enabling the endform to be inserted into the connector housing without substantial contact with the retention clip. The retention clip is in the form of a planar body having at least one angled projection extending therefrom. Preferably, a plurality of angled projections are formed on the retention clip. The retention clip is fixedly secured to the retainer or insert molded in the retainer for movement concurrent with movement of the retainer relative to the connector housing.
Abstract: Two embodiments of a collapsible metal roof truss are disclosed. Both embodiments are made up jackknife foldable left and right heel sections, a jackknife foldable peak section and a center bottom chord. In the flat ceiling embodiment the center bottom chord can be solid. In the second cathedral ceiling embodiment the center bottom chord is split into two pivotally interconnected sections and a vertical web leg is added. The truss can be assembled in a variety of shapes and sizes and configurations and is easily collapsed after partial prefabrication for convenient shipping.

Abstract: A method of creating a self-supporting waterproof lining in an underground pipe involves pulling a small carriage through the pipe and operating a rotary sprayer mounted on the carrier to spray an air-atomized, fast-setting organic compound on the interior of the pipe. Supply lines for air and the two parts of the compound pass through a union from the non-rotary carriage to the rotary sprayer.
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the resistance and reactance of a subject, or a segment of a subject, includes a constant current source supplying a periodic high frequency input current to the subject. The constant current source controls the input current to a targeted value by measuring the actual current through the subject and comparing that actual current to the target current. The resulting error signal controls the input current. The input current is supplied to the segment through a coupling transformer, and another coupling transformer coupled to a resistor in the subject path supplies the value of the actual current. The apparatus also includes an impedance measuring circuit that detects an output voltage across the segment, preferably using a detection coupling transformer, and produces at least one of a reactance output signal and a resistance output signal using the output voltage. In one aspect, an automatic shut down circuit is included.
Abstract: An apparatus imparts movement to a fluid dispersing nozzle with a mechanism for converting rotational movement about an axis of rotation into orbital movement about the axis of rotation, and an elongate orbital member is connectable to the mechanism at one end and is connectable to a fluid nozzle at an opposite end from the mechanism. The orbital member provides orbiting movement of the opposite end in response to rotation of the mechanism about the rotational axis, and provides stationary centered positioning of the opposite end in response to a non-rotating mechanism.

Abstract: The invention is a reinforcing system with vibrating plates of stringed musical instruments, as well as a method for determining the optimal placement of reinforcing braces on those plates. To determine the optimal size, shape and location of plate reinforcements, the plate is caused to vibrate at a known frequency, and the nodal and anti-nodal areas of the plate are mapped. Bracing of a size and shape corresponding to the mapped nodal areas are affixed to the plate, and the acoustic properties of the plate are then measured. Thereafter, the braces may be repositioned to optimize the tonal qualities of the instrument based on both objective and subjective criteria.
