Abstract: A picture coding apparatus includes a motion vector estimation unit and a motion compensation unit. The motion vector estimation unit selects one method for deriving a motion vector of a block to be motion-compensated, depending on a motion vector of a block located in a corner of a decoded macroblock from among a group of blocks that compose the decoded macroblock corresponding to the current macroblock to be coded and determines the motion vector derived by the selected method for derivation to be a candidate of the motion vector of the current macroblock to be coded. The motion compensation unit generates a predictive image of the block to be motion-compensated based on the estimated motion vector.
Abstract: Advances in filling apparatus, handheld tools, surgical techniques and intraoperative biometry for implanting and adjusting an accommodative liquid lens are disclosed. The lens may be attached to or retained within a handheld surgical tool, which can be fluidly connectable to a filling console to fill the lens with a liquid. In various embodiments, a filling console facilitates aspirating liquid out of the lens in order to ensure the absence of residual bubbles and filling of the lens with fluid during surgery, as well as during post-operative adjustments to the lens. Actuated by the surgeon, the filling console can aspirate fluid from the lens and inject fluid into the lens following insertion thereof.

Abstract: A method for determining the proportion of gaseous working medium in a cylinder of an internal combustion engine includes opening an injector so as to feed fuel directly into the cylinder. The injector is connected to a fuel line in which a pressure sensor is arranged. The pressure in the fuel line is measured when the injector is open. The proportion of gaseous working medium in the cylinder is determined in conjunction with an association between the measured pressure in the fuel line when the injector is open and the proportion of gaseous working medium in the cylinder.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatic gain control in mass spectrometers are disclosed. An exemplary system may include a mass spectrometer, comprising a lens configured to receive a supply of ions, and a mass analyzer. The mass analyzer may include an ion trap for trapping the supplied ions. The mass analyzer may also include an ion detector for detecting ions that exit the ion trap. The lens may focus the ions non-uniformly based on mass of the ions to compensate for space charge effects reflected in a measurement output of the mass spectrometer.

Abstract: Monetary Mobile is a process (mobile application) whereby mobile phone users can capture calls, scan documents or receipts, record mileage, or clock their time via a stop watch or timer and then email a description of each to the user's billing department, assistant (or to him/herself) or any pre-designated recipient. The purpose of emailing the descriptions is so that the user can bill his/her clients for that time or expense, or log important conversations, expenses and/or mileage, or meetings. The app is not designed to be a billing program, though a nexus is provided so that it will work with an independent billing program.

Abstract: A method is provided for controlling a converter of the multiphase interleaving type. According to the method, there is detected when a change of the load applied to an output terminal of the converter occurs. All the phases of the converter are simultaneously turned off, and a driving interleaving phase shift is recovered so as to restart a normal operation of the converter. A controller for carrying out such a method is also provided.

Abstract: A radio transmitting device and method enables reduction of an increase of CGI memories for the control channel and an improvement of the throughput of the data channel. When multiplex transmission through the control channel and the data channel is carried out and when adaptive modulation is applied to both channels, an MCS selecting section is provided with one CQI table for the data channel and CQI tables for the control channel, and a table selecting MCS determining section selects one of the tables depending on the transmission bandwidth of the terminal and determines the MCS of the control channel while looking up the selected CQI table.
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for reconciling one or more financial transactions of one or more business units. The method includes capturing transaction data from the financial transactions using a first set of data logics. The capturing further includes extracting the transaction data from the financial transactions using import templates and transforming the extracted transaction data to a predefined format, using a first set of validations. The captured transaction data is then auto-matched with master data as reference, using one or more auto-match logics and a second set of validations. One or more reports are then generated on the auto-matched transaction data. The method further includes providing user privileges for controlling the capturing, the auto-matching, and the generation of the one or more reports according to a first predefined criterion.
