Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for obtaining an implantable cartilage gel for tissue repair of hyaline cartilage, comprising particles of chitosan hydrogel and cells that are capable of forming hyaline cartilage, said method comprising a step for amplification of primary cells in a three-dimensional structure comprising particles of physical hydrogel of chitosan or a chitosan derivative, then a step for re-differentiation and induction of the synthesis of extracellular matrix by said amplified cells, in the same three-dimensional structure, wherein said cells are primary articular chondrocytes and/or mesenchymal stem cells differentiated into chondrocytes. The present invention also concerns the cartilage gel obtained thereby, and its various uses for cartilage repair following a traumatic lesion or an osteoarticular disease such as osteoarthritis.

Abstract: A method for determining a distance to a passive intermodulation source in a device under test, the method comprising transmitting at least two signals with respective different frequencies to the device under test, receiving a complex response signal from the device under test, the complex response signal comprising a passive intermodulation of the at least two signals, generating an autocorrelation matrix using the complex response signal, the autocorrelation matrix representing power information of the complex response signal, decomposing the complex response signal, using the autocorrelation matrix, into a signal component part and a noise component part and determining a distance to the passive intermodulation source in the device under test using the noise and/or signal component part.

Abstract: A method for estimating a stiffness of a deformable part of a system including a four-photodiode detector for analyzing at least one characteristic of a sample. The method includes receiving the signals recorded by the four photodiodes, calculating the resultant signals from the recorded signals, calculating a cross-correlation of the resultant signals calculated for obtaining an intercorrelated signal, estimating the stiffness of the deformable part depending on the intercorrelated signal.

Abstract: Hydrogen purification devices and their components are disclosed. In some embodiments, the devices may include at least one foil-microscreen assembly disposed between and secured to first and second end frames. The at least one foil-microscreen assembly may include at least one hydrogen-selective membrane and at least one microscreen structure including a non-porous planar sheet having a plurality of apertures forming a plurality of fluid passages. The planar sheet may include generally opposed planar surfaces configured to provide support to the permeate side. The plurality of fluid passages may extend between the opposed surfaces. The at least one hydrogen-selective membrane may be metallurgically bonded to the at least one microscreen structure. In some embodiments, the devices may include a permeate frame having at least one membrane support structure that spans at least a substantial portion of an open region and that is configured to support at least one foil-microscreen assembly.

Abstract: A projection display device includes a light source module, a switch unit, and micro-scanning mirrors. The light source module provides a light beam. The switch unit receives the light beam and switches a transmission direction of the light beam to the corresponding one of the micro-scanning mirrors during each of periods. The micro-scanning mirrors cause the light beam to scan over projection surfaces to form images. The projection display device can project the images on the projection surfaces without image brightness loss.
Abstract: Hydrogen generation assemblies and methods of generating hydrogen are disclosed. In some embodiments, the method may include receiving a feed stream in a fuel processing assembly of the hydrogen generation assembly; and generating a product hydrogen stream in the fuel processing assembly from the received feed stream. Generating a product hydrogen stream may, in some embodiments, include generating an output stream in a hydrogen generating region from the received feed stream, and generating the product hydrogen stream in a purification region from the output stream. The method may additionally include receiving the generated product hydrogen stream in a buffer tank of the hydrogen generation assembly; and detecting pressure in the buffer tank via a tank sensor assembly. The method may further include stopping generation of the product hydrogen stream in the fuel processing assembly when the detected pressure in the buffer tank is above a predetermined maximum pressure.
