Abstract: A novel and useful quantum computing machine architecture that includes a classic computing core as well as a quantum computing core. A programmable pattern generator executes sequences of instructions that control the quantum core. In accordance with the sequences, a pulse generator functions to generate the control signals that are input to the quantum core to perform quantum operations. A partial readout of the quantum state in the quantum core is generated that is subsequently re-injected back into the quantum core to extend decoherence time. Access gates control movement of quantum particles in the quantum core. Errors are corrected from the partial readout before being re-injected back into the quantum core. Internal and external calibration loops calculate error syndromes and calibrate the control pulses input to the quantum core.

Abstract: A system for monitoring a fetus in a pregnant woman, and/or the maternal health risk for pregnancies complicated by such as pre-eclampsia and hypertensive disorders is configured to be worn by the pregnant woman, preferably so as to allow monitoring during daily life, e.g. in the form of an adhesive patch. The unit has a sound sensor, e.g. a microphone or accelerometer, to be positioned on the skin of the abdominal area so as to detect a vascular sound from umbilical arteries of the fetus or from the uterine arteries of the pregnant woman. The sound sensor is functionally connected to a processing unit which executes a processing algorithm on the captured vascular sound and extracts a signal parameter accordingly. The processing unit then communicates the signal parameter, e.g. using an audio signal, a visual display or by means of a wired or a wireless data signal.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for supporting efficient and secure “Machine-to-Machine” (M2M) communications using a module, a server, and an application. A module can communicate with the server by accessing the Internet, and the module can include a sensor and/or an actuator. The module, server, and application can utilize public key infrastructure (PKI) such as public keys and private keys. The module can internally derive pairs of private/public keys using cryptographic algorithms and a first set of parameters. A server can authenticate the submission of derived public keys and an associated module identity. The server can use a first server private key and a second set of parameters to (i) send module data to the application and (ii) receive module instructions from the application. The server can use a second server private key and the first set of parameters to communicate with the module.
Abstract: A health care information system generates information that describes how different inputs to a model affect the output of the model, by creating a localized model for a given entity, and determining how the output of the localized model for the given entity changes in response to different inputs. The computer system builds the localized model for a given entity based on the model and on data values for the given entity. The computer system inputs one or more different data values for selected input features of the localized model, while data values for the remaining input features of the localized model are fixed to data values for the given entity, and obtains corresponding outputs from the localized model. The results from this localized model for the given entity indicate which of the selected input features have the most impact on the output of the model for that entity.

Abstract: Method and systems control a rotational speed of a blood pump during ventricular diastole. A method includes controlling a blood pump in accordance with a first segment operational mode. A controller monitors the blood flow rate through the blood pump. The controller determines, based on the blood flow rate, whether continued controlling of the blood pump per the first segment operational mode would result in the blood flow rate through the blood pump being less than a target minimum blood flow rate. In response to a determination that continued controlling of the blood pump per the first segment operational mode would result in the blood flow rate through the blood pump being less than the target minimum blood flow rate, the controller controls the rotational speed of the blood pump so that the blood flow rate through the blood pump is approximate to the target minimum blood flow rate.
