Abstract: A novel and useful system wiring apparatus and related techniques that address the need to feed power and electronic signals to and from a sample board between the cold, low pressure region in a vacuum chamber and outside room temperature and atmospheric pressure. The wiring apparatus balances electrical resistance with the thermal conductivity of the power and signal conductors. Printed flexible cables are used having an annular sealing region which together with O-rings provide vacuum sealing while allowing electrical signals to pass between integrated circuit(s) inside the vacuum chamber and equipment outside the chamber. A thermal anchor is placed along the printed flexible cable to maintain a desired temperature along the cable. The printed flexible circuits are multilayer with two outer layers serving as an RF shield while two inner layers comprise the signal lines which typically require shielding, electrical isolation from each other and from external electromagnetic fields.

Abstract: A slurry containing CO2 in solution passes through a venturi at high velocity. As pressure drops within the venturi reactive gases are introduced. Cavitation is induced releasing energy helping mix the slurry with the additive gases and increase a chemical reaction rate and creating a more uniform distribution of ions allowing for better reaction rates. A precipitate is formed sequestering CO2.

Abstract: The output voltage of an MRAM is increased by means of an Fe(001)/MgO(001)/Fe(001) MTJ device, which is formed by microfabrication of a sample prepared as follows: A single-crystalline MgO (001) substrate is prepared. An epitaxial Fe(001) lower electrode (a first electrode) is grown on a MgO(001) seed layer at room temperature, followed by annealing under ultrahigh vacuum. A MgO(001) barrier layer is epitaxially formed on the Fe(001) lower electrode (the first electrode) at room temperature, using a MgO electron-beam evaporation. A Fe(001) upper electrode (a second electrode) is then formed on the MgO(001) barrier layer at room temperature. This is successively followed by the deposition of a Co layer on the Fe(001) upper electrode (the second electrode). The Co layer is provided so as to increase the coercive force of the upper electrode in order to realize an antiparallel magnetization alignment.
Abstract: A system for managing the dosing of inputs to be applied to a surface includes an electronic device housed on board an agricultural machine and a remote management server. The electronic device includes a weather sensor for measuring a weather condition, a central unit for collecting a weather datum containing information relating to the measured weather condition, and first communication means for transmitting the weather datum to the management server. Abstract: Described herein is a novel nanocomposite for oral administration for treatment of gastrointestinal disease, e.g., IBD, or injury. The nanocomposite contains nanoemulsion particles (NEs), loaded with an active therapeutic agent, that are then combined with a second component containing a self-assembling peptide(s) (SAP) or peptidomimetic(s) (optionally, the second component is in a powder form). Upon administration, when hydrated at slightly acidic or near-neutral pH, the system self-assembles into a hydrogel matrix enveloping NEs, which then adheres to, and more efficiently delivers, the active agent to the intestinal tract of a treated subject. The nanocomposite can be administered in a capsule dosage form that forms a depot in the stomach or post-stomach.
