Abstract: A decoding method for a low density parity check (LDPC) code includes: updating a first check node, among a plurality of check nodes, by receiving, by the first check node, a bit decision and an associated first reliability value from each of a subset of variable nodes including a first variable node among a plurality of variable nodes, calculating a syndrome value and a second reliability value of the first check node based on the received bit decisions and first reliability values, and outputting the calculated syndrome value and second reliability value of the first check node to a variable node of the plurality of variable nodes but not of the subset of variable nodes; and updating the first variable node by receiving, by the first variable node, a syndrome value and a second reliability value of a second check node among the plurality of check nodes, and updating the first reliability value of the first variable node based on the syndrome value and the second reliability value of the second check node.

Abstract: A Reed Solomon decoder may include a syndrome calculation (SC) circuit, a key equation solver (KES) circuit, and a Chien search and error evaluation (CSEE) circuit. The SC circuit calculates a syndrome from a codeword. The KES circuit includes a plurality of sub-KES circuit and calculates an error location polynomial and an error evaluation polynomial from the syndrome. The CSEE circuit calculates an error location and an error value from the error location polynomial and the error evaluation polynomial. Each of the plurality of sub-KES circuits, the SC circuit and the CSEE circuit respectively constitute pipeline stages. The Read Solomon decoder may also include a FIFO queue that queues the codeword among a plurality of codewords sequentially received, and an error correction circuit that produces error corrected data using an output from the FIFO queue, the error location, and the error value.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of manufacturing an organic device having a protective film, the method including: providing bonding layers (adhesives) on one surface of a first substrate and one surface of a second substrate; providing an organic device on the other surface of the first substrate; and providing the second substrate on the organic device such that the bonding layer (adhesive) provided on the second substrate is in contact with the organic device. Since the organic device having the protective film according to the present invention may be attached to other materials through the bonding layer (adhesive), it is not necessary to apply heat in order to attach the organic device to other materials, and as a result, it is possible to attach the organic device to various materials having various shapes regardless of types and shapes of materials.

Abstract: Disclosed are a spatial modulation-based transmitter and communication method employing a lens antenna. The spatial modulation-based transmitter includes a plurality of unit antennas, a modulator configured to perform non-orthogonal multiple access and spatial modulation for an input signal, and a controller configured to determine a target unit antenna which will transmit data in a spatial modulation manner at a current time point among the plurality of unit antennas. Each of the unit antennas includes a plurality of antenna units and a lens structure which shifts a phase of an electromagnetic wave output by at least one of the plurality of antenna units. In addition, by surrounding a channel by a multilayer film including a first blocking layer and coating a bonding part with a second blocking layer in order to prevent air from penetrating through the bonding part between upper and lower films, an inner portion of the channel may be maintained in a vacuum state and heat performance of the polymer-based pulsating heat pipe may be maintained. In addition, although the polymer-based pulsating heat pipe according to the present invention has high flexibility, it is lightweight and has heat performance superior to that of copper, thereby effectively cooling the flexible electronic device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a lipid nanoparticle complex comprising an aptide fused with a cell penetrating material and a use thereof. Particularly, the lipid nanoparticle complex according to the present invention contains long-chain and short-chain phospholipids, and comprises an aptide fused with a cell-penetrating material. In particular, when the long-chain and short-chain phospholipids are included in a specific molar ratio, the lipid nanoparticle complex exhibits a discoid structure. In addition, when the lipid nanoparticle complex comprises the aptide for STAT protein as an aptide, it has superior cell or skin cell permeability, delivers the aptide to the dermal layer to show treatment effect on psoriasis without side effects, inhibits the expression of fibrosis-related genes increased by TGF-?, and attenuates symptoms of pulmonary fibrosis in in vivo model. Thus, the lipid nanoparticle complex according to the present invention can be effectively used as a carrier for various aptides.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for treating Parkinson's disease. According to this method, a halorhodopsin protein, a polynucleotide encoding the halorhodopsin protein or a vector containing the polynucleotide above is introduced into ventrolateral thalamus (VL) or medial globus pallidus (GPm) neurons of a subject having Parkinson's disease. The VL neurons are then illuminated with green light or exposed to a T type Ca2+ channel blocker to inhibit rebound firing of VL neurons. By inhibiting rebound firing of VL neurons, Parkinson's disease can be treated or prevented.
