Abstract: A variable gain phase shifter includes an I/Q generator and a vector summation circuit. The I/Q generator generates phase signals based on an input signal. The vector summation circuit adjusts magnitudes and directions of first, second, third and fourth in-phase vectors and first, second, third and fourth quadrature vectors, and generates an output signal by summing the in-phase vectors and the quadrature vectors, based on the phase signals, selection signals and current control signals. The vector summation circuit includes first, second, third and fourth vector summation cells and first, second, third and fourth current control circuits. The first and second vector summation cells adjust the directions of the first and second in-phase vectors and the first and second quadrature vectors. The third and fourth vector summation cells adjust the directions of the third and fourth in-phase vectors and the third and fourth quadrature vectors.

Abstract: An image conversion method includes: dividing a low-resolution image to generate a plurality of low-resolution image patches having N (N being a natural number of 2 or greater) number of pixels; classifying the low-resolution image patches into a plurality of image categories; converting the low-resolution image patches by using a conversion kernel for each image patch corresponding to its image category among prestored conversion matrices, to generate high-resolution image patches having L (L being a natural number) number of pixels, which is less than the N number of pixels; and arranging the high-resolution image patches to generate a high-resolution image. According to the image conversion method, an operation amount can be reduced compared with a conventional technique, and thus the image conversion method can be implemented in hardware having low complexity. A high quality and high-resolution image can be generated regardless of characteristic information of an image signal.

Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a biomimetic highly stretchable conductive dry adhesive patch, a mold including a plurality of holes is provided by etching a semiconductor substrate including an insulation layer based on a footing effect. A conductive polymer composite is provided by dispersing mixed conductive fillers in a liquid elastomer. The mixed conductive fillers are formed by mixing one-dimensional conductive fillers and two-dimensional conductive fillers. The conductive polymer composite is applied on the mold such that the conductive polymer composite is injected into the plurality of holes. A conductive dry adhesive structure including a plurality of micropillars corresponding to the plurality of holes is obtained by performing a post-treatment on the conductive polymer composite applied on the mold and by removing the mold. Each of the plurality of micropillars includes a body portion and a tip portion.

Abstract: An apparatus for processing a video signal and method thereof are disclosed. The present invention includes receiving prediction mode information, interpolating information and a residual of a current block, reconstructing an interpolating pixel using the interpolating information and a neighbor block, and reconstructing the current block using the interpolating pixel, the prediction mode information and the residual, wherein the interpolating information is generated based on a location of the current block. According to an apparatus and method for processing a video signal, high reconstruction rate can be obtained by improving the related art method having limited intra prediction modes available for a current block located on a boundary area of a picture in encoding in a manner of reconstructing and using an interpolating pixel based on interpolating information.
