  • Patent number: 4408340
Abstract: A cassette or an analogous supports for sheet-like X-ray films has a bottom wall and a top wall which latter is connected to the bottom wall by a hinge. One of the walls carries a magnetic plate which is overlapped by a first intensifier screen for the X-ray film. The other wall carries a flat flexible receptacle for a ferromagnetic layer therewithin, and the receptacle is overlapped by a second intensifier screen. When a film is inserted between the two screens, the cassette is closed whereby the magnetic layer attracts the ferromagnetic layer with the result that the two screens are biased against the respective sides of the film therebetween. The second screen may constitute an integral part of the receptacle which latter consists of a material, such as paper or synthetic plastic, that is permeable to X-rays.

  • Patent number: 4406538
Abstract: A color copier has a control circuit for controlling the exposure of an original to be copied. The control circuit has a processing channel for each of the three primary colors. Each of the channels is associated with photodetectors which is sensitive to the color of the respective channel. The photodetectors sense the intensity of the light in the respective color transmitted through the original and generate signals indicative of the density of the original in that color. The density of the original in each color is compared with the neutral gray density of the original. The difference between the density of each color and the neutral gray density is used to calculate an undercorrection factor for the respective color. The undercorrection factor is used to regulate the exposure time for light of the respective color or the intensity of light of the respective color during exposure.

  • Patent number: 4403849
Abstract: An electrostatic copying device comprises a transparent support plate onto which an original to be copied is placed. A slide carrying a recording cylinder provided on its peripheral surface with a photosensitive layer is movable beneath and parallel to the transparent support plate. At least one gear coaxially fixed to the recording cylinder meshes with a rack extending parallel to the path of movement of the slide to rotate the recording cylinder during movement of the slide. The slide carries also a raster objective stepwise scanning the original during movement of the slide to produce a latent image of the original on the photosensitive peripheral surface of the recording cylinder, which picture is transferred to an endless dielectric band forming an intermediate recording carrier and from the latter the picture is transferred to a photosensitive paper sheet fed onto the band along which also a plurality of usual treating stations are arranged for developing the image on the paper sheet.

  • Patent number: 4403854
Abstract: A color print machine, which makes prints from developed color film, is provided with an automatic exposure control system. A memory stores control signals for adjusting the automatic exposure control system for predetermined differing color film types and is addressable for selecting the control signals to be furnished for the color film type involved. The color film is provided with machine-readable film-type identifying code markings prior to printing. A code-marking scanner performs machine-reading of the film-type identifying code markings and generates corresponding film-type signals. The memory is addressed, thereby selecting the control signals to be furnished to the automatic exposure control system for the particular color film type involved, in automatic response to the film-type signals.

  • Patent number: 4403846
Abstract: An arrangement for introducing photosensitive strips into and for transporting the same through the interior of a developing machine includes an attaching compartment at the input part of the machine adjacent to a region into which the leading end of the respective strip is introduced through an input slot, the compartment having two opposite open ends one communicating with the exterior and the other with the interior of the machine. A lid is mounted on the walls bounding the compartment for pivoting between its open and closed positions and is latched in its closed position by a latching device. A separating slide is mounted on rails arranged at the other end for movement across the same between its open and closed positions. The opening of the lid is accomplished by gripping a handgrip which actuates a switch that commences the operation of a drive moving the slide into its closed position. Then, the latching device releases the lid, and the lid is opened.

  • Patent number: 4399363
Abstract: A laminate for conversion of X-rays into radiation that darkens X-ray films has a flexible plate which is disposed between a fluorescent layer and a ferromagnetic layer. The latter enables the plate and the fluorescent layer to bear against an X-ray film in a cassette or at an exposure station for X-ray films by being attracted to a plate-like permanent magnet. The ferromagnetic layer is permanently bonded to the respective side of the flexible plate or is simply confined between the plate and an outer layer which is permeable to X-rays and whose marginal portions extend beyond the ferromagnetic layer and are bonded to the respective marginal portions of the plate. Alternatively, the ferromagnetic layer can be inserted into a sealable envelope or bag which is bonded to the respective side of the plate, namely, to that side of the plate which faces away from the fluorescent layer.
