    Abstract: A cassette with two chambers for discrete cut films has a centrally disposed plate-like partition with two identical sides, and a pair of identical covers each of which is adjacent to a different side of the partition and is pivotably attached to the partition by a hinge for movement between an open and a closed position. The covers have exposure apertures and carry slidable plate-like shutters which can slide in slots of the respective covers to permit or prevent entry of light by way of the respective apertures. The film chambers are separated from each other by the central portion of the partition, and the latter further carries locks for releasably holding the covers in their closed positions. The lock for one of the covers is provided at that side of the partition which is adjacent to the other cover, and vice versa.

    Abstract: In a photographic material suitable for use as image receptor element for the dye diffusion transfer process, a dyeable layer arranged on a layer support contains nickel chelates of a 2,2'-bisphenol corresponding to one of the general formulae I and II as metallizing agents for the formation of colored complexes of organic colorless or colored complex formers.     Abstract: A photographic copying machine wherein each of the three color filters comprises several triangular sectors which are pivotable about parallel axes into and from the path of copying light between first positions outside of the path, second positions of full overlap with the path and a finite or infinite number of intermediate positions. The pulleys for the sectors of each filter are rotatable by a discrete endless cord or cable which is further trained over a wheel receiving torque from a crank drive designed to move the sectors into the path of the light beam through progressively greater angles during movement from the second toward the first positions and through progressively smaller angles during movement from the first to the second positions under the action of a reversible stepping motor so that the crank drive can compensate for the lack of linearity between the filtering action of the sectors and the extent to which they project into the path of copying light.

    Abstract: An electronic image scanner is disclosed in various embodiments. Scanning of an image is divided into a first reproduction phase and a second reproduction phase. In the first reproduction phase, a first half-frame of a video signal is developed. In the second reproduction phase, a second half-frame of the video signal is developed. By utilizing the invention herein, a flicker-free video signal can be developed from a motion picture film while maintaining resolution of the resultant video signal at the conventional television resolution standard of 625 lines per film frame.

    Abstract: A two-part arrangement of permanent magnets with low retentivity conducting elements for the flow of magnetic force is used in order to orientate magnetically anisotropic pigments in a suspension in the direction of tape travel during the production of a magnetic tape by means of magnetic fields. The first part of the arrangement acts on the suspension with an inhomogeneous strong magnetic field of about 5000 A/cm which is narrowly restricted physically, without anticipating the orientation in the direction of tape travel. Orientation in the direction of tape travel takes place in the second part of the arrangement which has a physically extended but weaker field.

    Abstract: A container for X-ray films is of the type wherein at least one side of the film is contacted by a stratum of fluorescent material. The fluorescent material is biased against the respective side or sides of the film by two layers which consist of ferromagnetic and/or magnetic material, flank the film and attract each other. Such layers can be applied to the inner or outer sides of sheet-like carriers consisting of synthetic plastic material. The aforedescribed film, stratum or strata, layers and carriers may but need not be inserted into the space between the rigid or flexible walls of an envelope. The envelope can be dispensed with if the carriers consist of opaque material. Since each of the two carriers can support the respective layer and the respective stratum of fluorescent material, the thickness of the entire package is minimal and the film can be placed into close proximity of one or more objects to be imaged so as to obtain sharp images of such object or objects.

    Abstract: A filtering arrangement for adjusting the color composition of the copying light in a color copier has three filters located upstream of an original to be copied as considered in the direction of light propagation. Each filter is divided into three filter sections which are rotatable in unison so as to project into the path of the copying light to larger or smaller degrees. A motor is provided for each filter and each motor has a rotatable drive shaft which is parallel to the path of the copying light. One of the filter sections of each filter is fixedly mounted on the shaft of the corresponding motor for rotation therewith. The remaining two filter sections of each filter are mounted on the shafts of the other motors via roller bearings so as to be rotatable relative to such shafts. The three filter sections of each filter are connected by a cable so that all three filter sections rotate when the motor corresponding to the filter is actuated.
