Abstract: During the replaying of audio data stored in a, which audio data corresponds to text data from a text composed of words, the replaying of the audio data in forward and reverse modes is controlled. Starting from particular momentary replay position in the audio data, a backward jump over a return distance corresponding to the length of about at least two words, to a target position, is automatically initiated for the replaying of the audio data in the reverse mode. Then, starting from the particular target position, a replay of the audio data in the forward sequence for just one part of the return distance is undertaken.

Abstract: A system for posting web logging (blog) messages, retrieving blog messages, and being notified of the posting of blog messages by way of dispatch communications. The system includes a wireless communication system capable of setting up dispatch communications links between subscriber units and a dispatch server. The dispatch server interfaces with a blog server. Using dispatch communications, subscriber units may send messages to the blog server for posting by way of the dispatch server, may receive notification of the posting of messages from the blog server by way of the dispatch server, and may retrieve messages from the blog server by way of the dispatch server.

Abstract: What is disclosed is a method of operating a wireless communication system. The method includes exchanging communications for a session between a wireless communication device and a destination through a serving access node, receiving a handoff request to handoff the session from the serving access node to a target access node, and selecting the target access node from a plurality of access nodes based upon a correlation between activities of the wireless communication device, one of the plurality of access nodes, and the serving access node.

Abstract: A management system may test network paths prior to scheduled calls. Testing network paths may include one endpoint placing a test call to an endpoint on the other end of the path. Various characteristics of the network path may be tested. If the network path fails and/or in some way does not meet the predefined characteristics for the call, an administrator may be notified and/or alternate network path may be detected and tested. The call may be rescheduled if a satisfactory network path is not found in time.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus is provided in which, even in the case where a list of image files stored in a data folder is displayed to the user while another function is active, the list of image files can be displayed without degradation in the performance of the other function due to a CPU resource conflict. The electronic apparatus includes a storage unit configured to store a plurality of image files; an acquisition unit configured to acquire a CPU use rate when displaying a list of image files; a setting unit configured to set the display format of the list of image files on the basis of the CPU use rate; and a display unit configured to display the list of image files in the set display format.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems, methods, and computer-storage media for suppressing Short Message Service (SMS) communications from a Short Message peer-to-peer (SMPP) client. A selected response algorithm is provided to the SMPP client from a server. A threshold of undesired SMS communications are detected from a SPAM originator that is communicated to the server by way of the SMPP client. A challenge is communicated to the SMPP client from the server. When a challenge response is not received at the server, communications received from the SMPP client are throttled. When the challenge response is received at the server and the challenge response is incorrect, communications received from the SMPP client are also throttled. When the received challenge response is correct, a SPAM originator source identifier is communicated to the SMPP client in order for the SMPP client to throttle communications received from the SPAM originator.

Abstract: A method for dynamically displaying application shortcut icons of an electronic device constructs a dependency relation graph according to applications whose invoked frequency has reached a predetermined frequency value, and further according to browsing paths whose count has reached a predetermined dependency rule. The method further computes a weight value of each node in the dependency relation graph for ranking the applications to display application shortcut icons of the applications on the electronic device according to the rank.

Abstract: An operation section housing and a display section housing are connected by a rotatable hinge having a structure in which the display section housing rotates with the rotatable hinge serving as the central rotational axis. The display section housing has three built-in speakers in predetermined positions of a display. A personal digital assistant detects the angle of the rotatable hinge and identifies the speaker located in the leftmost side and the speaker located in the rightmost side relative to an upright display image displayed on the display. Then, the left audio is output from the left side of the upright display image and the right audio is output from the right side of the upright display image.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer program products are described for invoking tapered prompts in a multimodal application implemented with a multimodal browser and a multimodal application operating on a multimodal device supporting multiple modes of user interaction with the multimodal application, the modes of user interaction including a voice mode and one or more non-voice modes. Embodiments include identifying, by a multimodal browser, a prompt element in a multimodal application; identifying, by the multimodal browser, one or more attributes associated with the prompt element; and playing a speech prompt according to the one or more attributes associated with the prompt element.

Abstract: An electronic device and method for operating a presentation application file includes acquiring a histogram of each of a plurality of designated objects, and defining an operation corresponding to each of the plurality of designated objects. The electronic device and method further includes acquiring a histogram of a recognized object in an image, determining a matched designated object by comparing the histogram of the recognized object with the histograms of the designated objects, and executing an operation function corresponding to the matched designated object.

Abstract: A word prediction apparatus and method that improves the precision accuracy, and a speech recognition method and an apparatus therefor are provided. For the prediction of a sixth word “?”, a partial analysis tree having a modification relationship with the sixth word is predicted. “sara-ni sho-senkyoku no” has two partial analysis trees, “sara-ni” and “sho-senkyoku no”. It is predicted that “sara-ni” does not have a modification relationship with the sixth word, and that “sho-senkyoku no” does. Then, “donyu”, which is the sixth word from “sho-senkyoku no”, is predicted. In this example, since “sara-ni” is not useful information for the prediction of “donyu”, it is preferable that “donyu” be predicted only by “sho-senkyoku no”.

Abstract: Ultra-wideband frequency hopping spread spectrum (UWB-FHSS) solutions are used for transceiver architectures. These UWB-FHSS transceiver architectures can transmit and accurately digitize frequency hops over an extremely wide bandwidth while using a relatively slow analog-to-digital converter (ADC) without suffering from unacceptable performance degradation. For example, ADCs can be used having sample rates lower than standard Nyquist criteria would require for the bandwidth of the spread spectrum utilized.

The first connection parts of both cam assemblies are connected to spaced apart locations on the first housing. The actuator arms are connected on one end to spaced apart locations on the second housing and are connected on the other end to different ones of the second connection parts of both cam assemblies. Relative movement of the first and second housings rotates the first connection part relative to the second connection part of both cam assemblies and tilts the first housing relative to the second housing.

Abstract: A method of managing systems in a managed network can include storing configuration information corresponding to at least one managed system and automatically generating a grammar and a speech dialog for each managed system using the configuration information. User speech selecting a managed system can be received over a telephone call. The user speech can be recognized to identify the selected managed system. A grammar and speech dialog for the selected managed system can be loaded. Accordingly, the user can interact with one or more managed systems using the speech dialog. The user speech can be processed using the grammar.
