Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a hybrid smartwatch that incorporates digital technology with an analog timepiece in a wristwatch form factor. A digital display layer of a non-emissive material is configured to present notices, data, content and other information. An analog display layer includes one or more hands of the timepiece, and overlies the digital display layer. The hands may be controlled by a processor through micro-stepper motors or other actuators. Physical motion of the hands is simultaneously coupled with arrangement of content or other elements on the display layer, which results in numerous types of hybrid visualizations. This includes temporal presentations using hourly, daily, monthly or other time scales. Shape-shifting of the watch hands between 2D and 1D arrangements can linearly focus on certain information. And various content-aware layouts can highlight, bracket, occlude or otherwise emphasize or deemphasize displayed information.

The hook receiver is configured to receive a hook of the cargo securement strap. The anchor device further includes a keeper coupled to the frame. The keeper includes a keeper body and at least one keeper finger extending from a side of the keeper body. The keeper is configured to move between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the at least one keeper finger contacts a bolt and the keeper body is positioned to retain the hook. In the second position, the keeper body is positioned to allow for removal of the hook from the hook receiver.

For example, a system may include one or more memory units storing instructions and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform operations. The operations may include receiving a dataset that includes time series data having a plurality of dimensions and generating a transformed dataset by performing a first data transformation. The first data transformation may include a time-based data processing method. The operations may include generating a synthetic transformed-dataset by implementing a data model using the transformed dataset. The data model may be configured to generate synthetic transformed-data based on a relationship between data of at least two dimensions of the transformed dataset. The operations may include generating a synthetic dataset by performing a second data transformation on the synthetic transformed-dataset. The second data transformation may include an inverse of the first data transformation.

Abstract: An internal power supply for an amplifier is disclosed. The internal power supply floats according to a common mode voltage at the input to the amplifier and according to an input voltage at an input stage of the amplifier. Powering the input stage of the amplifier using the floating supply allows for the use of low voltage devices even when the range of possible common mode voltages includes high voltages. The use of low voltage devices can correspond to performance improvement for the amplifier and can help reduce the size of the amplifier. The internal supply can accommodate both positive and negative common mode voltages and can be used for current sense amplifiers of any gain.

Abstract: Techniques for bi-modal learning in a financial context are described. These techniques are configured to improve a user's financial acumen and bring the user into an optimal financial state. Some of these techniques are embodied in a device that operates financial education lessons specifically configured for the improving the user's current financial state. These techniques may implement rewards/penalties (in tokens) for correct/incorrect user responses to financial decisions being presented in these lessons for user to make. By exploiting the user's desire for rewards and tokens and the desire to improve the user's current financial state, these techniques may leverage machine learning techniques to identify an appropriate financial education lesson that is most likely to have a positive effect on the user. Over time, administrating the financial education lessons builds customer loyalty to the device that implements these techniques. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: A system to monitor compliance with fishery management regulations by recording time and location stamped video of a catch. The system utilizes battery powered miniature camera/DVR modules capable of being mounted virtually anywhere on a fishing vessel. The cameras are activated by software triggers using motion and changes in hydraulic pressure to avoid the capture of unwanted video and unnecessarily draining the battery. A method of analyzing the video data to ascertain species, size, and mass is also disclosed.
