Abstract: A system that allows an electronically controlled pneumatic (ECP) railcar to be optionally selected as the ECP End of Train (EOT) device when that car is positioned at the end of a train regardless of its physical orientation. This eliminates the requirement to use and install a traditional End of Train (EOT) device at the end of an ECP train while maintaining the same train integrity monitoring functionality that is typically provided for train brake-in-two detection and closed cut-out cock detection. The system also eliminates the requirement for a dedicated EOT device at the end of the train for ECP “RUN” Mode operation, and allows any ECP car to function normally as part of the train or act as the EOT device when selected.

  • Publication number: 20200252425
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, for utilizing an access log of a proxy server device of a content delivery network (CDN) to detect and mitigate a denial of service (DOS) on a web or content server hosted by the CDN. Through an analysis of the content requests received at the proxy server listed in the access logs, one or more IP addresses may be identified as involved in a potential DOS attack or other suspicious behavior. Once identified, the suspicious activities of the one or more IP addresses may be tracked and aggregated over a particular period of time, with each detected suspicious request to the content server being counted. The count of suspicious requests to the content server may then be compared to one or more threshold values and a remediation action may occur when the thresholds are met or exceeded.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing data. During operation, the system obtains a set of partitions containing records spanning a time interval, wherein the records include a set of values for a metric and a set of dimensions associated with the set of values. For each dimensional subset associated with the set of dimensions, the system aggregates, based on the set of partitions, a corresponding subset of values for the metric into a distribution-based representation of the metric. The system then stores a dictionary encoding of the dimensional subset in association with the distribution-based representation of the metric. Finally, the system calculates, based on the distribution-based representation, one or more quantiles associated with the dimensional subset and outputs the quantile(s) for use in characterizing a distribution of the metric.
