  • Patent number: 10733269
Abstract: A pedometer that records the number of steps over a defined period of time and a moment sensor that records the moments experienced by a prosthesis are used in a networked computer environment to assess the functional activity level and instability of a user. The networked environment may include a user computer and a server computer in communication through the Internet. Both the user computer and the server computer include a functional assessment tool and a stability assessment tool. The tools on the user computer and server computer cooperate in assessing the activity level and the instability of a user. • Patent number: 10729434
Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a body, a shaft, and an end effector that is operable to compress, staple, and cut tissue. The end effector includes and anvil and a cartridge. The anvil has a body and a modular releasable curved tip that connects with the body. The curved tip is elastically deformable in response to force exerted on the curved tip when tissue is clamped between the anvil and cartridge. The curved and deformable features of anvil provide for an end effector with improved visualization and maneuverability, in particular during procedures involving marching. The modular nature of the curved anvil tip provides for an end effector that allows anvil tip replacement due to wear or interchangeability based on a user preference or procedure.

  • Patent number: 10735220
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing Internet of Things (“IoT”) functionality. In some embodiments, a processor might receive sensor data from a plurality of sensors of a first IoT-capable device, and might analyze the sensor data to determine whether to send the sensor data to at least one of second IoT-capable devices or user devices, each associated with the user of the first IoT-capable device, and/or to at least one of third IoT-capable devices associated with one or more third party groups. Based on a determination to send the sensor data to at least one of the second IoT-capable devices associated with the user, the user devices associated with the user, and/or the third IoT-capable devices associated with third party group(s), the processor might send the sensor data to the at least one of the second IoT-capable devices, the user devices, and/or the third IoT-capable devices.

  • Patent number: 10735191
Abstract: A secure access control system configured to control access to sensitive data stored on disparate systems is disclosed. A first entity is designated to control access to second entity data. An authentication token, generated using a key derivation function, is used to authenticate the first entity. The authenticated first entity is granted access to second entity data. An access control interface is generated configured to selectively grant or withdraw access to second entity data. The access control interface identifies entities associated with respective access controls. The access control interface is instantiated on a first entity device. Activation indications of access controls is received over a network. Access to second entity data is accordingly granted or withdrawn. Access control transition event rules and/or access control transition time rules are retrieved.

  • Patent number: 10735369
Abstract: A service enables a command that refers to a file system object using a hierarchical namespace identifier to be executed against the file system object in a flat namespace. The service selectively distributes the command to one of a plurality of name resolution nodes based on a directory name included in the hierarchical namespace identifier. The identified node resolves the directory name to a flat namespace identifier that is used to execute the command against the flat namespace. After communicating with at least one storage node to resolve a directory name, each name resolution node stores a mapping of the directory name to the corresponding flat namespace identifier in a cache, so that subsequent resolutions of that directory name may be performed more efficiently. Cache entries may be invalidated when an operation occurs that impacts the relevant mapping and/or based on system considerations such as cache expiry.

  • Patent number: 10735553
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, for providing services to customers or other users of a telecommunications network through implementation of one or more micro-services instantiated on the network. Through the micro-services, one or more of the processes or functions used to provide the services from the network may be separately located logically within the network, thereby divorcing such processes from dedicated service components of the network. The breaking apart of the processes to be instantiated within the network on a generic computing device of the network, otherwise known as “micro-services”, allows the telecommunications to adjust or scale the available services in response to operating conditions of the network.
