Abstract: A communication device mitigates power consumption and communication connectivity lapses in a marginal coverage area with unsatisfactory transmit communication quality and satisfactory receive communication quality of respective uplink and downlinks with a radio access network (RAN) using a first radio access technology (RAT). Based on information of past communication success and failure, a controller of the communication device determines whether communication services can be successfully obtained from the RAN using a second RAT. In response to determining that communication services cannot be successfully obtained using the second RAT, the communication device monitors the downlink with the first RAN using the first RAT to receive any mobile terminated calls. In addition, the communication delays, for a preset period of time, any attempt to establish uplink communication using one of the first and second RATs that are expected to be unsuccessful in the marginal coverage area.

Abstract: A valve for use in a wellbore includes a housing including a housing port, a slidable closure member disposed in a bore of the housing and including a closure member port, and a seal disposed in the housing, wherein the closure member includes a first position in the housing where fluid communication is provided between the closure member port and the housing port, and a second position axially spaced from the first position where fluid communication between the closure member port and the housing port is restricted, wherein, in response to sealing of the bore of the housing by an obturating member sealingly engaging the seal, the closure member is configured to actuate from the first position to the second position.

Abstract: A suspension control system dynamically adjusts pistons located proximal to wheels of an agricultural machine to substantially equalize distribution of weight of the machine at each wheel and/or provide a substantially constant desired orientation of the machine above a ground surface thereby protecting laterally extending sprayer booms from contacting the ground. Articulation, pitch, roll and/or machine height can be determined from piston measurements on the machine to apply such height corrections. For sprayers, this allows controlling clearance and suspension height to maintain the boom parallel to the ground to prevent damage.

Abstract: A manufacturing system performs a deposition of an etch-compatible film over a substrate. The etch-compatible film includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The manufacturing system performs a partial removal of the etch-compatible film to create a surface profile on the first surface with a plurality of depths relative to the substrate. The manufacturing system performs a deposition of a second material over the profile created in the etch-compatible film. The manufacturing system performs a planarization of the second material to obtain a plurality of etch heights of the second material in accordance with the plurality of depths in the profile created in the etch-compatible film. The manufacturing system performs a lithographic patterning of a photoresist deposited over the planarized second material to obtain the plurality of etch heights and one or more duty cycles in the second material.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide for a controller of a system. The controller is configured to apply a drive to transition the system from a first state to a second state and to continually adjust the drive in response to a detected disturbance quantity in real-time by performing a loop until the system is in the second state. The loop comprises determining a predicted state of the system at a given instance based on the obtained current state of the system and the applied drive, obtaining the current state of the system at the given instance using one or more sensors, determining a disturbance quantity amount based on a difference between the predicted state at the given instance and an actual state of the system at the given instance, determining an adjustment to the drive based on the disturbance quantity amount, and applying the adjusted drive to the system.

Abstract: A waterfowl decoy deployment system includes a hub subsystem including a casing, a plurality of arms extending radially outward from the casing, and a plurality of waterfowl decoys. At least one waterfowl decoy of the plurality of waterfowl decoys is coupled to each arm of the plurality of arms. The waterfowl decoy deployment system also includes a thrust bar system coupled to the casing and positioned below the plurality of arms and the plurality of waterfowl decoys. The thrust bar system includes a thrust bar coupled to the casing and a plurality of thrust devices coupled to the thrust bar. The plurality of thrust devices are configured to rotate the thrust bar about an axis to induce a substantially circular motion to the casing, the plurality of arms, and the plurality of waterfowl decoys.

Abstract: An apparatus, method, system and computer-readable medium are disclosed for, in one aspect, determining when a trigger, such as an application trigger, should be generated. In some embodiments, the application trigger may be generated when a frame included in a feed (e.g., a content feed) matches a specified or indicated frame. In some embodiments, a comparison between the feed and the specified or indicated frame may be based on one or more tolerances or thresholds. In some embodiments, the feed may be split and content (e.g., video) obtained via the split may be combined (e.g., multiplexed) with a trigger. The combined content and trigger may be transmitted to one or more devices, such as one or more user devices.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, systems, methods, and computer program products for click-chemistry compatible structures, additive manufacturing resins for forming the same, and method of formation of such structures and resins, as well as techniques for functionalizing click-chemistry compatible structures are disclosed. The inventive structures generally include a plurality of photo polymerized molecules structurally arranged according to a three-dimensional pattern, while surfaces of the structure are functionalized with one or more click-chemistry compatible molecules each having one or more click-chemistry compatible functional groups. The structures may be formed from single- or dual-component resins, each having unique synthetic pathways. The resulting structures may be functionalized for utility in a wide range of applications by leveraging click chemistry to further functionalize the structure with organic additives also compatible with click-chemistry reaction schemes.

Abstract: Fifth generation (5G) non-standalone (NSA) radio access system employing virtual fourth generation (4G) master connection to enable dual system data connectivity. The 5G NSA radio access system employs a virtual 4G radio access node (RAN) to provide a logical master data connection to a user mobile communications device, and a 5G RAN to provide an additional, secondary high-speed data plane between the user mobile communications device to a core network. The virtual 4G RAN does not provide an actual 4G radio connection over-the-air to the user mobile communications device. Instead, the signaling transported between the user mobile communications device and the virtual 4G RAN is provided over a non-radio connection, such as an internet protocol (IP) connection. In this manner, the deployment of the 5G NSA radio access system employing the virtual 4G RAN can be achieved without updating existing 4G RANs and/or without deploying a new 4G RAN infrastructure.

A prediction engine may, based on this metadata, determine new encoding settings for the same or a different video resolution. The prediction engine may cause an encoded media content item to be stored and may cause encoding of the media content item using the new encoding settings.

Abstract: A composite reinforced, optionally treated, wood stud for permanent wood foundations, above ground walls, floor joists, vertical support columns or headers for commercial and residential buildings has a first lumber section having a width and a depth and a second lumber section inverted with respect to the first lumber section having a width and a depth. A plurality of adjacent, aligned in a longitudinal row, mechanical fastening dowels angularly pass through the depth of the first lumber section and pass substantially through the width of the second lumber section. The dowels maintain a spatial relationship between the first and second lumber sections. The angularity of the dowels alternate vertically oppositely between adjacent dowels. From an end view, the dowel alternate in a cant relationship with adjacent dowels in a left and right manner.

Abstract: An apparatus in the form of a separate “shutter” system is disposed below and attached to the opening of a portable toilet seat in a manner that substantially blocks the underlying tank from view, yet allows for the waste material to easily pass into the tank. The system shutter assembly includes an inverted-V shaped component that is suspended below the toilet opening to block the view of an underlying pit tank while allowing for waste material to pass over either side of the “V” and fall into the tank (also protects user from any waste material splashing upward). The assembly further includes a shutter support assembly connected between the toilet seat opening and the shutter and is used to support the shutter in its suspended place. The shutter may be fixed in place, or permitted to swing back and forth as the waste material encounters the shutter.

Abstract: A system and method for identifying trending topics in a document corpus are provided. First, multiple topics are identified, some of which topics may be filtered or removed based on co-occurrence. Then, for each remaining topic, a frequency of the topic in the document corpus is determined, one or more frequencies of the topic in one or more other document corpora are determined, a trending score of the topic is generated based on the determined frequencies. Lastly, the remaining topics are ranked based on the generated trending scores.

Abstract: A system for transmission of packetized data in a voice activated computer network environment. The system can identify candidate canonicalized digital components that relate to secondary search locations. For each of the candidate canonicalized digital components the system can calculate transmissions scores that are used to select one of the candidate canonicalized digital components for transmission.
