Patent number: 11882231Abstract: Exemplary embodiments relate to techniques for transmitting ephemeral content messages. A sending client may establish an end-to-end encrypted session with possible recipients of the message, using a first decryption key during initial session setup. The client may send an ephemeral content message, including encrypted content and a second key, to the recipients through a server. The server may be unable to retrieve the encrypted content due to a lack of the second key. The server may filter a list of intended recipients, and may forward the ephemeral content message to the recipients on the filtered list. The recipients may retrieve the second key from the message, and use the first and second keys to decrypt the encrypted content. The sending client may change the second key each time the recipient list changes from the perspective of the sending client, as determined at the time the ephemeral content message is transmitted.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2022Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Assignee: WhatsApp LLCInventors: Randall Sarafa, Eugene Fooksman, Brian Lange Acton, Jan Boris Koum, Michael B. Patent number: 11879745Abstract: The disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for facilitating travel over a last leg of a journey. In one example embodiment, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) captures an image of an area to be traversed by an individual during the final leg of the journey. The image is evaluated to identify a hindrance that may be encountered by the individual in the area. A pre-emptive action may be taken to address the hindrance before reaching the area. The pre-emptive action, may, for example, include using the UAV and/or a terrestrial robot to assist the individual traverse the area. The assistance may be provided in various ways such as by use of the terrestrial robot to transport the individual and/or a personal item of the individual through the area, and/or by use of the UAV to provide instructions to guide the individual through the area.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2020Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Aed M. Patent number: 11878703Abstract: A method for determining a pullover spot for a vehicle is described. The method includes using a computing device to detect information related to a system of the vehicle or an environment surrounding the vehicle using a sensor of a vehicle and determine a local failure of the vehicle based on the information. The computing device may then be used to determine that the vehicle should pullover before completing a current trip related to transporting a passenger or good by comparing vehicle requirements for the trip with the local failure and determine a pullover spot by identifying a first area for the vehicle to park in part based on a second area being available for a second vehicle to pick up the passenger or good. The computing device may operate the vehicle to the pullover spot and transmit a request for a second vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2021Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Assignee: Waymo LLCInventors: Emily Chi, Ryan Joseph Andrade

Patent number: 11879332Abstract: A horizontal directional drilling rig is described. The rig can be entirely electrically powered. The performance (or “health”) and/or the life cycle of individual components of the rig can be electronically monitored. This permits identification of specific individual components that are performing in a substandard manner or are not performing properly or have reached the end of their life cycle. Individual improperly performing components or components at the end of their life cycle can thus be specifically identified. The improperly performing component(s) or components at the end of their life cycle can then be replaced. In some embodiments, when a component is identified as performing improperly, the operation of other, properly functioning components of the rig can be modified accordingly to account for the improperly performing component.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2022Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Assignee: LAVALLEY INDUSTRIES, LLCInventor: Jason LaValley

Patent number: 11880272Abstract: The current document is directed to methods and systems that employ call traces collected by one or more call-trace services to generate call-trace-classification rules to facilitate root-cause analysis of distributed-application operational problems and failures. In a described implementation, a set of automatically labeled call traces is partitioned by the generated call-trace-classification rules. Call-trace-classification-rule generation is constrained to produce relatively simple rules with greater-than-threshold confidences and coverages. The call-trace-classification rules may point to particular services and service failures, which provides useful information to distributed-application and distributed-computer-system managers and administrators attempting to diagnose operational problems and failures that arise during execution of distributed applications within distributed computer systems.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2021Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Assignee: VMware LLCInventors: Arnak Poghosyan, Ashot Nshan Harutyunyan, Naira Movses Grigoryan, Clement Pang, George Oganesyan, Davit Baghdasaryan

Patent number: 11881315Abstract: A sensor-based leading indicator management ecosystem is described. Sensor data associated with the individual, possibly within a Personal Area Network (PAN) and related to the healthcare of the individual, is compiled and converted to a one or more sets of leading indicators with respect to one or more possible future healthcare actions. Leading indicators may then be compiled into one or more condition state vectors that represent encoded inputs into one or more trained action prediction agents. The trained action prediction agents then generate, possibly in real-time or based on time-series data, predicted actions that may be required at a predicted point-of-care or a moment-of-care. Further, action prediction agents may be context or domain specific.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2022Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Assignee: Nant Holdings IP, LLCInventors: Patrick Soon-Shiong, Nicholas J.
