Abstract: Data processing systems and methods, according to various embodiments, are adapted for mapping various questions regarding a data breach from a master questionnaire to a plurality of territory-specific data breach disclosure questionnaires. The answers to the questions in the master questionnaire are used to populate the territory-specific data breach disclosure questionnaires and determine whether disclosure is required in territory. The system can automatically notify the appropriate regulatory bodies for each territory where it is determined that data breach disclosure is required.

Abstract: An inspection tool for allowing visual inspection of an end face of a fiber optic ferrule. The inspection tool includes a passage for allowing a camera to view the end face. The inspection tool also includes light directing structure for first directing ferrule illumination light axially along the inspection tool, and then reflecting the axial light across the end face of the fiber optic ferrule.

Abstract: There is disclosed in one example a digital video camera, including: an analog picture element; an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to digitize input from the analog picture element; a three-dimensional (3D) scanner; compiling logic to compile the digitized input into a video stream; and insertion logic to insert interstitial 3D scene data into the video stream.

Abstract: A flexible channel bandwidth for mobile radio communications is provided by provisioning a set of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) subcarriers for mobile radio communications; encoding data symbols with polyphase codes derived from a discrete Fourier transform to produce encoded data symbols; and modulating the encoded data symbols onto the OFDM subcarriers to produce a superposition signal that resembles a single-carrier signal and has one of a plurality of different symbol durations. The provisioning comprises selecting one of a plurality of different selectable subcarrier spacings, to provide for the one of the plurality of different symbol durations.

Abstract: Methods and systems for conducting batch multi-effect distillation are disclosed. A multi-effect distillation system and one or more isolation devices are provided. A feed stream, consisting of water and a solute, is passed from a feed source into a brine side of the plurality of heat exchangers. The feed source is isolated from the plurality of heat exchangers by closing the one or more isolation devices. A first of the plurality of heat exchangers is heated by the heat source. A steam stream and a brine concentrate stream are produced in all but a last of the plurality of heat exchangers. A condensate stream from the steam stream is produced in all but the first of the plurality of heat exchangers. A warmed feed stream is produced in the last of the plurality of heat exchangers.

Abstract: In certain embodiments, reference identifiers may be generated and embedded into a website's content. A request for a reference identifier to be embedded into first content on a first website may be obtained based on a user accessing the first website. Based on the request, interaction data related to the first website may be retrieved indicating that a prior user interacted with text on the first website and subsequently accessed a second website. A reference identifier related to the second website may be caused to be embedded into the text on the first website based on: (i) the second website comprising second content related to the text, (ii) the prior user interacting with the text on the first website, and (iii) the prior user accessing the second website after interacting with the first content on the first website.

Abstract: A method of loop filtering in a video coding process comprises receiving image data; analyzing the image data; flexibility partitioning the image data into loop filtering blocks (LFBs) to allow the size of LFBs in at least one of a first row and a first column in a same frame to be smaller than other LFBs within the same frame; and applying a loop filter to the LFBs.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described for enabling base stations (121, 122) to coordinate for canceling cross-link interference (380). The techniques and apparatuses described herein overcome challenges that a single base station (121) might otherwise face in trying to compensate a reception (131) by the base station (121) for cross-link interference (382) from a transmission (132) by another base station (122). The techniques and apparatuses described herein enable the base stations (121, 122) to form coordination sets to exchange information to enable the base stations (121, 122) to accurately reconstruct cross-link interference (380) and ultimately cancel the cross-link interference (380) to improve link quality.

Abstract: The technology described in this document can be embodied in a computer-implemented method that includes receiving, at a processing system, a first signal including an output of a speaker device and an additional audio signal. The method also includes determining, by the processing system, based at least in part on a model trained to identify the output of the speaker device, that the additional audio signal corresponds to an utterance of a user. The method further includes initiating a reduction in an audio output level of the speaker device based on determining that the additional audio signal corresponds to the utterance of the user.

Various embodiments also help to enhance patient safety, secure the supply chains for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other healthcare products, and help users to follow regulatory requirements.

A pillar is provided in the semiconductor layer and has a second conductivity type that is different than the first conductivity type. A first trench gate is provided in the pillar proximate to a first vertical edge of the pillar. A second trench gate is provided in the pillar proximate to a second vertical edge of the pillar, the second vertical edge being on an opposing side of the pillar of the first vertical edge. A first electrode is provided over a first side of the semiconductor layer. A second electrode is provided over a second side of the semiconductor layer.

Abstract: Systems, devices and methods to improve safety and efficiency in an operating room comprise providing a suture package that holds new suture needles and needle receptacles for storing used needles. The devices can be safely worn for the surgeon to self-dispense new suture needles in the near surgical field and to secure the used needles into a needle trap or a needle retainer located on his extremity, on his operative instruments or on the surgical drapes. The device may provide automated and/or simplified needle counting both during use and after removal from the surgical field. The device may be configured for ergonomic and efficient use so as to minimize the actions and motions of the surgeon to dispense and secure the needle.

Abstract: A fastener caddy for use with a bone plate. The fastener caddy includes preloaded fasteners that are positioned above the fastener apertures in the bone plate once the caddy is coupled to the bone plate. The caddy permits the driving of fasteners with the fastener already in proper alignment and without the need to retrieve each individual fastener. Once the fasteners are installed into the bone plate, the caddy is removed using an insertion tool.

Abstract: A method for processing a chemical stream includes contacting a feed stream with a catalyst in an upstream reactor section of a reactor having the upstream reactor section and a downstream reactor section, passing an intermediate product stream to the downstream reactor section, and introducing a riser quench fluid into the downstream reactor section, upstream reactor section, or transition section and into contact with the intermediate product stream and the catalyst to slow or stop the reaction. The method includes separating at least a portion of the catalyst from the product stream, passing the product stream to a product processing section, cooling the product stream, and separating a portion of the riser quench fluid from the product stream. The riser quench fluid separated from the product stream may be recycled back to the downstream reactor section, upstream reactor section, or transition section as the riser quench fluid.

Abstract: An injection device uses telescoping and/or nested components and other features to make the overall device compact in size. The device is configured to have a storage position and an extended position, such that its needle is positioned within the housing of the device in a storage position, with the needle extending beyond the device housing when needed for an injection. The telescoping plunger mechanism has a storage position and an extended position for use. The device includes a needle depth cover, which extends from the device housing for use, and guides the user as to the correct depth for the needle to penetrate the user's skin. A switch allows different depth settings, for example allowing a deeper penetration for injection into a leg, and shallower penetration for injection into an arm.

The coated flexible open-cell polyurethane foam structure further includes a flexible heat conductive material covering 30 to 90 percent (cov., expressed in %) of a surface area of the first major surface of the flexible open-cell polyurethane foam in a predefined shape to provide one or more gaps exposing the flexible open-cell polyurethane foam between defined edges of the flexible heat conductive material, where each gap of the one or more gaps has a gap width according to Formula I: gap width (mm) ??0.196×cov. (%)+20.6 (Formula I) where a total surface area of the one or more gaps provides 70 to 10 percent of the surface area of the first major surface of the flexible open-cell polyurethane foam.

Abstract: In a general aspect, a hybrid memory system with cache management is disclosed. In some aspects, a memory module includes volatile memory, non-volatile memory, and an internal cache. The internal cache is communicably coupled with the volatile memory and the non-volatile memory. Whether to execute a memory access request is determined by operation of the memory module. In response to the inability of the memory access request to be executed, a data transferring process is performed to copy data between the volatile memory and the non-volatile memory via the internal cache.

Abstract: A system and method for encapsulating commercially significant attributes of a hydrocarbon product into a single digital signature are presented. The digital signature may be generated from a physical product sample using optical techniques such as NIR spectroscopy. Digital signatures may be expressed in the form of composition, principle components derived from the spectra, or other properties derived from the original spectra which characterize, and help visualize, the variation present within the signals. Other physical property measurements and contaminant measurements may also be included in the digital signature and may be derived from the same measurement device or separate measurement devices whose output is integrated into a single digital signature. Embodiments of the invention may be used to confirm the identity of a hydrocarbon product, or to verify the composition of a hydrocarbon product.

Abstract: An animal transfer box for containing and transporting live animals, such as quail, includes two ventilated end panels opposite each other, two ventilated side panels opposite each other and connected to the end panels, a substantially non-ventilated bottom panel connected to the side panels, and a ventilated top panel connected to the side panels. Feet are secured to the bottom panel for supporting the bottom panel above a surface upon which the animal transfer box may be resting. The animal transfer box is formed from a single blank of cardboard having tabs and slots formed therein for securing the shape of the animal transfer box upon assembly. The end panels each comprise double-wall panels and one of the end panels has a full-length door while the other end panel has a partial-length door.
