Abstract: The present disclosure provides the identification of genes involved in sucker growth in tobacco. Also provided are promoters that are preferentially active in tobacco axillary buds. Also provided are modified tobacco plants comprising reduced or no sucker growth. Also provided are methods and compositions for producing modified tobacco plants comprising reduced or no sucker growth.

Abstract: Described examples include light fixtures and/or radio frequency (RF) nodes located in a service volume provided with a mobile asset detection system. The RF nodes receive beacon signals transmitted by mobile assets within the service volume. The mobile asset detection system includes a processor, a transceiver and multi-element antenna array. The multi-element antenna array includes multiple discrete antenna elements that, in some examples, are arranged so that at least one of the discrete antenna elements is non-coplanar with the other discrete antenna elements of the antenna array. Using signal attribute values determined from a signal received via each of the respective discrete antenna elements, a three dimensional estimate of the location of the mobile assets in a service volume may be determined.

Abstract: A saw system capable of cutting through a workpiece in one stroke is provided. The saw system includes a base, a turntable mounted on the base for rotation about a vertical axis, a support structure defining a cutting axis and fixedly attached to the turntable, and an elongated blade including a cutting edge. The turntable has a substantially planar support surface for supporting a workpiece. The support structure includes a pair of parallel sliding members, wherein the sliding members are disposed in a direction substantially parallel to the cutting axis. The elongated blade is spaced apart from the sliding members and is movable along the sliding members. The cutting edge includes a proximal end and a distal end, wherein an angle between an imaginary line connecting the distal end of the cutting edge to the proximal end thereof and its projection onto the turntable is an acute angle.

Abstract: A cloud-based fleet of sandboxes is scalable along two tiers. Additional sandboxes may be added to a particular sandbox network in a particular sandbox stack, or additional sandbox stacks may be added. Isolation of individual sandboxes within a sandbox network is provided by virtual switches or routers, and subnetting. Isolation of sandbox networks is provided by network or port address translation, and by running hypervisors in respective infrastructure-as-a-service virtual machines. Provisioning efficiency can be provided by the two-tiered architecture, by use of differencing disks, by use of virtual machine scale sets, and by hybrid core-count sandboxes. Sandboxes may be secured but still have outgoing internet connectivity. Workloads run in the sandbox may include builds, tests of development code, investigations of possible malware, and other tasks.

Abstract: An elevator cable management system is described to provide constraints on cable movements at a point between the top and bottom of an elevator track. Abstract: A method of producing uranium halides is disclosed in which chlorine gas is introduced into a liquid uranium-nickel alloy. NaCl salt is surrounding the crucible containing the liquid uranium-nickel alloy, producing a eutectic mixture of NaCl—UCl3. Upon chlorination, the metal halide dissolves in the matrix salt forming a solution. Adding the reactant metal, uranium to the nickel, the alloy is able to remain molten throughout processing. The liquid metal alloy may be removed from the salt bath, while the halogen gas continues to enter the system through the sparge until the desired composition of NaCl—UCl3—UCl4 is achieved. The method and system can be used to produce other metal halide salts such as actinide, lanthanide or transition metal halides contained in a matrix salt consisting of alkali and/or alkaline earth halides.
Abstract: Interference-based augmented reality hosting platforms are presented. Hosting platforms can include networking nodes capable of analyzing a digital representation of scene to derive interference among elements of the scene. The hosting platform utilizes the interference to adjust the presence of augmented reality objects within an augmented reality experience. Elements of a scene can constructively interfere, enhancing presence of augmented reality objects; or destructively interfere, suppressing presence of augmented reality objects.
Abstract: A method for establishing fraud detection system for payment card transactions associated with an individual or a household by analyzing the online or in-store transaction against fraud detection individual profile. Generating the individual profile involves retrieving transaction data and identifying information associated with transaction authorization request, searching for another payment card using the identifying information, aggregating payment cards transaction data, generating profile data for an individual according to identifying information, transaction data, and any reported fraudulent activities under the payment cards, analyzing the transaction against the profile data to determine whether the transaction is a fraudulent activity, and providing a notification to financial institutions reporting any fraudulent activities.

Abstract: Dresser includes a frame having a wall section forming at least part of a rear wall, and an upper panel that covers an accessible space. A bracket is attached to a vertical support, a first connector is attached to the bracket, a second connector is attached to the frame in a position to be in the space and removably engages with the first connector when present in the space under the upper panel. The first and/or second connector is length adjustable relative to its supporting structure, i.e., relative to the bracket in the case of the first connector or relative to the frame in the case of the second connector to enable a distance between the frame and the vertical support to be reduced. A reduction in distance between the frame and the vertical support and engagement between the first and second connectors prevents tipping of the piece of furniture.
