  • Patent number: 11106893
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for optimizing one or more object detection parameters used by an autonomous vehicle to detect objects in images. The autonomous vehicle may capture the images using one or more sensors. The autonomous vehicle may then determine object labels and their corresponding object label parameters for the detected objects. The captured images and the object label parameters may be communicated to an object identification server. The object identification server may request that one or more reviewers identify objects in the captured images. The object identification server may then compare the identification of objects by reviewers with the identification of objects by the autonomous vehicle. Depending on the results of the comparison, the object identification server may recommend or perform the optimization of one or more of the object detection parameters.

  • Patent number: 11107466
Abstract: A digital assistant supported on devices such as smartphones, tablets, personal computers, game consoles, etc. includes an extensibility client that exposes an interface and service that enables third party applications to be integrated with the digital assistant so the application user experiences are rendered using the native voice of the digital assistant. Specific voice inputs associated with a given application may be registered by developers using a manifest that is loaded when the application is launched on the device so that voice inputs from the device user can be mapped by the digital assistant extensibility client to the appropriate application as input events for consumption. In typical implementations, the manifest is arranged as a declarative document that streamlines application development and provides a seamless user experience by enabling customization of third party applications to integrate the digital assistant's voice and behaviors within the user experience of the application's domain.

  • Patent number: 11109095
Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring volume level associated with a video stream to determine when the volume level is below an activation threshold (level that may be difficult for a viewer to hear) and automatically activating the closed captioning at that point. The activation threshold may be configurable based on viewer preferences and may be dynamically generated based on the monitored volume level for the video stream. The closed captioning may be de-activated when the volume level exceeds a de-activation threshold (may be configurable and may be dynamically generated). The automatic activation/de-activation of the closed captioning may be performed by a video processor included in a set top box or a television. The volume level may be monitored by the video processor or externally by a volume monitoring device. The text of the closed captioning may be monitored for words associated with a low volume level.
