  • Patent number: 12052440
Abstract: A video encoding system in which pixel data is decomposed into frequency bands prior to encoding. The frequency bands are organized into blocks that are provided to a block-based encoder. The encoded frequency data is packetized and transmitted to a receiving device. On the receiving device, the encoded data is decoded to recover the frequency bands. Wavelet synthesis is then performed on the frequency bands to reconstruct the pixel data for display. The system may encode parts of frames (tiles or slices) using one or more encoders and transmit the encoded parts as they are ready. A pre-filter component may perform a lens warp on the pixel data prior to the wavelet transform.

  • Patent number: 12050360
Abstract: A lens assembly includes a stack of thermoplastic lenses that are aligned along a common optical axis and that are interleaved with metallic disks having an open central portion. Peripheral portions of each of the thermoplastic lenses adhere to the interleaved metallic disks to form a fused stack of lenses. A method of making the fused stack of lenses is disclosed and includes subjecting a set of interleaved lenses and metallic disks to an alternating current electromagnetic field that induces eddy currents in the metallic disks, causing heating that melts the adjacent lenses. The melted thermoplastic lens material adheres to adjacent metallic disks. The metallic disks reduce stray light from entering the lens stack, while permitting light to enter central portions of the lenses.

  • Patent number: 12052047
Abstract: An electronic device may include wireless circuitry. The wireless circuitry may include a quadratic phase generator for outputting a perfectly interpolated constant amplitude zero autocorrelation (CAZAC) sequence for a transmit path. The quadratic phase generator may include a numerically controlled oscillator, a switch controlled based on a value output from the numerically controlled oscillator, a first integrator stage, and a second integrator stage connected in series with the first integrator stage. The numerically controlled oscillator may receive as inputs a chirp count and a word length. The switch may be configured to switchably feed one of two input values that are a function of the chirp count and the word length to the first integrator stage. The quadratic phase generator may output full-bandwidth chirps or reduced-bandwidth chirps. Bandwidth reduction can be achieved by scaling the two input values of the switches.

  • Patent number: 12050532
Abstract: A routing circuit for an integrated circuit configured to access a set of resources that are organized according to a topology with a plurality of dimensions. The routing receives a request for a particular resource of the set of resources that includes an address that includes first and second sets of bits, the topology having a first dimension with n routing options (where n is not a power of two) and a second dimension with m routing options. The routing circuit determines first and second routing selections for the first and second dimensions by performing respective modulo-n and div-n operations on values formed from the address that include the first and second set of bits. The routing circuit then activates one or more selection signals in accordance with the first and second routing selections that are usable to cause the particular resource to be selected in response to the request.

  • Patent number: 12051006
Abstract: The subject technology provides receiving a neural network (NN) model to be executed on a target platform, the NN model including multiple layers that include operations and some of the operations being executable on multiple processors of the target platform. The subject technology further sorts the operations from the multiple layers in a particular order based at least in part on grouping the operations that are executable by a particular processor of the multiple processors. The subject technology determines, based at least in part on a cost of transferring the operations between the multiple processors, an assignment of one of the multiple processors for each of the sorted operations of each of the layers in a manner that minimizes a total cost of executing the operations. Further, for each layer of the NN model, the subject technology includes an annotation to indicate the processor assigned for each of the operations.

  • Patent number: 12050766
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to manipulating a user interface on a wearable electronic device using a mechanical crown. In some examples, the user interface can be scrolled or scaled in response to a rotation of the crown. The direction of the scrolling or scaling and the amount of scrolling or scaling can depend on the direction and amount of rotation of the crown, respectively. In some examples, the amount of scrolling or scaling can be proportional to the change in rotation angle of the crown. In other examples, a speed of scrolling or a speed of scaling can depend on a speed of angular rotation of the crown. In these examples, a greater speed of rotation can cause a greater speed of scrolling or scaling to be performed on the displayed view.

  • Patent number: 12052048
Abstract: An electronic device may include wireless circuitry having a mixer configured to receive an oscillating signal from oscillator circuitry. The oscillator circuitry can include a chain of buffer circuits sometimes referred to as oscillator driver circuitry. Transformers may be coupled at the input and output of each buffer circuit in the chain. Adjustable biasing circuits may be formed at the input of a selected buffer circuit in the chain of the buffer circuits. The adjustable biasing circuits can be digital-to-analog converters (DACs). The adjustable biasing circuits may be configured to apply a differential direct current (DC) offset voltage to the input of the selected buffer circuit. The differential DC offset voltage can have a value chosen to minimize a second harmonic component of the oscillator driver circuitry. Configured and operated in this way, a second harmonic conversion gain of the mixer can be reduced and can improve the transmit and receive performance of the wireless circuitry.

  • Patent number: 12052717
Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for reducing latency in a high-propagation-delay wireless communication system. A base station (BS) may receive from a user equipment (UE) a first buffer status report (BSR) indicating an amount of uplink data buffered by the UE for transmission to the BS, and may subsequently receive a first BSR update message indicating that an additional amount of uplink data has been buffered by the UE subsequent to transmission of the first BSR. The first BSR update message may be received prior to expiration of a timer authorizing transmission of a second BSR following the first BSR. In response, the BS may allocate resources for transmission to the UE, based on the first BSR and the first BSR update message. The BS may provide an uplink grant identifying the allocated resources.
