Publication number: 20230155760Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for calculating and compensating for Doppler shift in a high-speed environment. When in a high-speed environment, Doppler shifts on a transmitted radio frequency signal can become extremely large, which may make it difficult or even impossible for a receiving device to accurately decipher the signal. Therefore, embodiments of the present disclosure describe how tracking reference signals can be transmitted from multiple transmission/reception points, and processed by the UE. For example, the TRS transmitted from the TRP can be enhanced to allow for TRS information from two different TRPs. Additionally, or alternatively, a flag can be set within TRS information that identifies it as having originated from either a first TRP or a second TRP. Additionally, the UE can calculate Doppler shift information and report that information back to the base station in a report message, such as an SRS message. In this manner, the base station can precompensate for the Doppler shift.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2020Publication date: May 18, 2023Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Haitong SUN, Wei ZENG, Yushu ZHANG, Hong HE, Oghenekome OTERI, Sigen YE, Weidong YANG, Chunxuan YE, Chunhai YAO, Dawei ZHANG

Publication number: 20230153292Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for ensuring consistent metadata across computing devices. In one example, a user device of a plurality of user devices receives a manifest that includes first metadata associated with a file system update of a file system of the user device. The user device generates second metadata of the file system based on performing the file system update. The user device then generates a dictionary based on comparing metadata records of the first metadata with metadata records of the second metadata. The dictionary may indicate a difference between at least one metadata record of the first metadata and at least one metadata record of the second metadata. The user device then updates the second metadata of the file system to match the first metadata based at least in part on the difference indicated by the dictionary.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2023Publication date: May 18, 2023Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Meha N. Publication number: 20230155658Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for performing fast beam tracking in a wireless communication environment. A UE signals to a gNB its capabilities for intra-symbol beam sweeping. Depending on configuration, the UE can either assume that the intra-symbol beam sweeping configuration will be implemented, or will await a response from the gNB before implementing intra-symbol beam sweeping. Although this is generally carried out during initial access between the UE and the gNB, the beam sweeping configuration can be dynamically updated by either the UE or the gNB during established communication. For example, the UE can signal a desired change via its MAC CE, and the gNB can signal its change to the UE via DCI.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2020Publication date: May 18, 2023Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Yushu ZHANG, Haitong SUN, Yakun SUN, Weidong YANG, Wei ZENG, Dawei ZHANG, Rohit U. Patent number: 11652722Abstract: The embodiments described herein can dynamically adjust timing of network bandwidth estimations by adjusting a target frequency for sending probing sequences to one or more receivers of content. The receivers receive these probing sequences from a transmitter and respond to the transmitter with network bandwidth estimations. In one embodiment, the probing sequences can use the content itself to create the probing sequences. The embodiments can be used in video conferencing applications to control how a transmitter of content can adjust transmissions based upon the network bandwidth estimations. In one embodiment, a policy can be used at a transmitter to begin a video transmission with a high frequency target for sending probing sequences (with, e.g., smaller length probing sequences) and transition to a lower frequency target (with, e.g., longer length probing sequences) when network bandwidth deteriorates and then return to the higher frequency target when the network bandwidth improves.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2021Date of Patent: May 16, 2023Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Hsien-Po Shiang, Ming Jin, Gabriel Nava Marino, Gurtej Singh G.
