  • Patent number: 6131423
Abstract: In a safety door-locking system for a switchgear cabinet, in which the electric operating state inside the switchgear cabinet is operationally connected to a locking device of a cabinet door of the switchgear cabinet, it is provided that a position of a switch in the switchgear cabinet is coupled via a mechanical connecting system (9, 10, 11, 12, 4, 5) to a locking linkage of the cabinet door. For this purpose, a rotatably (14a) mounted control disc (9) is permanently connected to the switch in the switchgear cabinet (1), the control disc (9) additionally representing the position of the switch. The control disc (9) and a locking rod (4) are operationally connected mechanically via a connecting rod (10) and a connecting angle (11) held between guide pins (12a, b) in the locking rod (4), and the locking rod (4) is mounted displaceably (19) for the purpose of locking the locking linkage of the cabinet door.

  • Patent number: 6132202
Abstract: The object of the invention is to provide a method and a device for operating a premix burner which improve the supply of fuel under certain types of operation.According to the invention, this is achieved by the fact that the liquid fuel (2) and the water (27) are conveyed separately to the liquid-fuel nozzle (17), and only there a liquid-fuel/water mixture (28) is produced, which is then injected into the inner chamber (9) of the premix burner (4) in a plain jet (29) with an injection angle a of less than 10.degree.. To this end and, the liquid-fuel nozzle (17), which opens out centrally into the inner chamber (9), is designed with a simple injection opening (19). A mixing zone (22), into which a liquid-fuel line (20) and a water feed line (21) open out, is arranged upstream of the injection opening (19).

  • Patent number: 6134101
Abstract: The gas-insulated, metal-enclosed switchgear assembly contains two, three or more switchpanels, each having a multipole power breaker (CB.sub.1, CB.sub.2, CB.sub.3, CB.sub.4) as well as isolating and grounding switches per switch pole (CB.sub.1R) and is designed like a ring or in a 11/2 power-breaker circuit. The switch poles of the power breakers are each of identical design and are arranged parallel to one another. The switchpanels each have one current path of U-shaped design per phase in a vertical plane, in which current path the base of the U contains a vertically aligned pole of the power breaker, and the two limbs of the U each contain an electrical connection of the power breaker and an isolating as well as a grounding switch. The upper limbs of the U of one of the switchpanels are connected phase-by-phase to the lower limbs (S.sub.u) of another of the switchpanels, by means of respective single-phase gas pipelines (L.sub.12 (R), L.sub.23 (R), L.sub.

  • Patent number: 6134100
Abstract: The encapsulation (1) of a gas-insulated switchgear assembly is supported at both ends (7, 9) on a foundation (11). To this end, mounting device (12) are provided at the first end (7) and are anchored in the foundation (11) such that they cannot move. At the second end (9), the mounting device (13) are designed such that they can move with respect to the foundation (11), in the longitudinal direction of the encapsulation (1). This avoids mechanical stresses in the assembly. A force absorbing member is also provided at the first end (7), which transmits horizontal forces from the encapsulation (1) to the foundation (11), and thus relieves the load on the mounting device (12, 13).

  • Patent number: 6118187
Abstract: A method for controlling a power plant which delivers electrical power to an electrical grid. The grid has a grid frequency which fluctuates around a nominal frequency. A power output of the power plant is controlled as a function of a control frequency, in such a manner that the power output is increased when the control frequency decreases below the nominal frequency. On the other hand the power output is decreased when the control frequency rises above the nominal frequency. The grid frequency is continuously measured. The measured grid frequency is averaged to give, as a moving average, a slowly varying averaged trend frequency which is characteristic of the long term behavior of the grid frequency. The averaged grid frequency is used as the control frequency, if the measured grid frequency lies within a predetermined band around the averaged grid frequency. The measured grid frequency is used as the control frequency, if the measured grid frequency lies outside the predetermined band.

  • Patent number: 6107651
Abstract: In a gate turn-off thyristor (GTO) with homogeneous anode, emitter and stop layer, a device which short-circuit the stop layer with the anode is provided in an edge termination region. As a result, in a reverse-biased state, the GTO has a structure of a diode in the edge region and amplification of a reverse current is obviated. With this structure, thermal loading in the edge region is reduced, as the GTO tolerates a higher operating temperature at a predetermined voltage.

  • Patent number: 6107591
Abstract: A gas-insulated power breaker (1) has encapsulation (2) which is filled with an inert gas. Live parts (10, 11, 12, 13) are arranged in the encapsulation (2). In order to prevent damage to the live parts (10, 11, 12, 13) during transportation, a transport support (17) is provided. In a secured position, the transport support (17) supports the live parts (10, 11, 12, 13) with respect to the encapsulation (2). It can be partially withdrawn and moved to an operating position, through a gastight aperture (22), without the inert gas having to be evacuated or the encapsulation (2) opened in this event. This allows the switch to be transported safely, prevents contamination of the interior (3) of the encapsulation (2), and avoids the need for costly emptying and refilling with inert gas.

  • Patent number: 6106188
Abstract: A joint between a first and a second joint partner where each joint partner has at least one flat, cylindrical surface section via which force is applied to the other joint partner. The joint partners being brought into contact with one another in a sliding fashion such that the flat, cylindrical surface sections of the joint partners partially overlap and form a common bearing surface in the contact region. The flat, cylindrical surface sections of the joint partners are each bonded on one side by an undercut and the joint partners are joined such that the common bearing surface of the joint partners is bounded in one direction by the undercut of the first joint partner and in the opposite direction by the undercut of the second joint partner. This arrangement allows zones of maximum stress gradient to be shifted into the region of the undercut structures and for crack-opening, surface-parallel stresses to be substantially avoided.

  • Patent number: 6102655
Abstract: In a device for sealing the gap between the moving blades and the stator, designed with a conical contour, of a turbomachine, the moving blades are provided at the blade end with encircling shroud plates. The cavity at the labyrinth inlet is subdivided in its radial extent into at least two axially staggered cavities. The shroud plate is of stepped design with at least two choke points with respect to the stator, the sealing strips acting on one step each while enclosing a vortex chamber. A curved sealing strip which runs at least approximately horizontally preferably acts on each step of the shroud plate.

  • Patent number: 6100489
Abstract: In the switched-on position, under the influence of contact forces generated by elastic deflection or else by mechanical spreading, or spreading caused by the attraction of parallel currents or repulsion of antiparallel currents, of a switching pin (5) , the switching pins presses against the inner side of a first switching ring (4), which is rigid for the purpose of avoiding mechanical overloading and securing sufficient consumable reserves. • Patent number: 6100492
Abstract: A wreath of contact fingers (4) directed radially toward a switching axis (1) presses in the closed position against the circumferential surface of a contact pin (2) with consumable heads (5) fitted on the ends. At an angle of approximately 90.degree., the contact fingers (4) adjoin webs (6) which are guided in the closing direction up to a housing part (7) at which they are permanently anchored and via which they connect the contact fingers (4) to an electric terminal. The webs (6) and--with the exception of the consumable heads (5)--the contact fingers (4) are produced in one piece from springy material of high conductivity. The contact with the contact pin (2) radially deflects the consumable heads (5) in the closing direction with elastic bending of the webs (6). The length (R) of the radial contact fingers and the length (L) of the axial webs (6) are selected such that the attraction of the parallel component currents through the latter approximately compensates the contact repulsion forces.
