Abstract: Systems and methods for providing enhanced image quality across a wide and extended range of foci encompass vision treatment techniques and ophthalmic lenses such as contact lenses and intraocular lenses (IOLs). Exemplary IOL optics can include a circular surface structure which acts as a diffractive or phase shifting profile. In some cases, a single ring IOL includes an anterior face and a posterior face, where a profile can be imposed on the anterior or posterior surface or face. The profile can have an inner portion such as a microstructure or central echelette, and an outer portion. Between the inner portion and the outer portion, there may be a transition zone that connects the inner and outer portions.

Abstract: Assemblies, devices, and methods for positioning the same proximate a target site within a body lumen are provided. The assembly includes first and second components that can function independently of one another to address a patient's vascular abnormalities or can cooperate to form an assembly. The assembly is designed to address aortic pathologies near clusters of arterial branches in a way that allows blood to continue flowing to the arterial branches during the procedure while providing an adequate landing zone for the adjoining component. One of the components may include a tapered portion near one end that can be received by a corresponding end of the other component. Alternatively, one of the components may include an invaginated end that is able to receive a corresponding end of the other component such that the position of each component is substantially fixed with respect to the other.

Abstract: A method of inserting a downhole assembly into a live wellbore, includes: assembling a pressure control assembly (PCA) onto a production tree of the live wellbore; inserting a first deployment section of the downhole assembly into a lubricator; landing the lubricator onto the PCA; connecting the lubricator to the PCA; lowering the first deployment section into the PCA; engaging a clamp of the PCA with the first deployment section; after engaging the clamp, isolating an upper portion of the PCA from a lower portion of the PCA; and after isolating the PCA, removing the lubricator from the PCA.
Abstract: An active platform (1) for the landing of an aircraft on an access facility (B) including a support basement (2), suitable to be fixed on a reference surface (P) belonging to the aforesaid access facility (B), and a landing footboard (3), superiorly connected with the support basement (2) and suitable to receive the aircraft. In this case, the landing platform (1) comprises compensation and levelling means (4), operatively connected with moving means (5) so as to constantly keep the landing footboard (3) on a substantially horizontal plane when atmospheric agents, fluid masses and/or adjacent structures interfere with the access facility (B).
