Abstract: A fluid delivery system includes a pressurizing mechanism. The pressurizing mechanism includes: a substantially cylindrical body having a movable member positioned therein that divides the body into a first chamber and a second chamber; a plunger rod connected to a first side of the movable member and extending through a substantially closed first end of the body; and an elongated member connected to a second side of the movable member and extending through a substantially closed second end of the body. The plunger rod configured to operatively engage a fluid container. Fluid is dispensed from the fluid container by forming a vacuum within at least the first chamber by moving the movable member toward the second end of the body, allowing atmospheric pressure to enter the second chamber, and actuating the pressurizing mechanism to cause the moving member to move towards the first end of the body.

  • Publication number: 20160317113
Abstract: A method is described for determining the velocity of a fluid in a region to be investigated using an imaging method, preferably computer tomography, of an investigation object. In the method, a plurality of separately spaced sub regions of a region to be investigated, through which sub regions the fluid is flowing, are defined. Time-dependent image data is produced for the plurality of separately spaced sub regions. Moreover, time/density curves are produced with, in each case, a plurality of time-dependent intensity values on the basis of the time-dependent image data for the separately spaced sub regions. Additionally, the time displacement in the time/density curves is determined. Lastly, the fluid velocity is determined on the basis of the time displacement determined in the time/density curves. A fluid velocity determination device is also described. Moreover, a computer tomography system is described.

  • Patent number: 9480791
Abstract: A system for delivery of a medical fluid to a patient includes a pump system including a pressurizing unit to pressurize the medical fluid and a drive system in operative connection with the pressurizing unit. The pump system exhibits variation in pressure during operation. The system further includes a compensating system in fluid connection with the medical fluid pressurized by the pressurizing unit. The compensating system defines a displacement volume in fluid connection with the pressurized medical fluid that is altered in a predetermined manner to alter the variation in pressure.
