Abstract: In one aspect of the present disclosure, a compressor wheel is disclosed that includes a body, a plurality of blades, and one or more supports. The supports add strength to the compressor wheel and may be configured as ribs, for example. The body has a first face (e.g., an outer or front face), which may include the blades, and a second face (e.g. an inner or rear face), which may include the supports. The supports may include an arcuate configuration curving forward in a direction of rotation of the compressor wheel.
Abstract: A transfer case having a chain drive disposed in a housing. The housing defines a vent aperture and a sump. A lubricating fluid is disposed in the sump and portions of the chain drive travel through the lubricating fluid so that a lubrication surge zone and a splash lubrication zone are formed. The vent aperture is disposed in at least one of the surge zone, the splash lubrication zone and the sump when the transfer case is disposed in at least one orientation in a predetermined range of operating positions in which the transfer case can be operated. A breather relocation conduit is employed to permit air to be vented from the housing to the vent aperture without intaking lubricating fluid into the breather relocation conduit.

Abstract: A valve assembly includes a valve housing defining a bore with a first axis extending along a length of the bore, and a valve shaft partially disposed within the bore along a second axis that is perpendicular to the first axis. The valve assembly additionally includes a valve plate coupled to the valve shaft and disposed within the bore, and a restricting device including a stop member and an engagement member. The stop member extends from the valve housing and presents a stop surface. The engagement member extends from the valve shaft and presents an engagement surface. At least one of the stop surface and the engagement surface is non-parallel with the second axis. Abstract: The present invention relates to a drivetrain having a first clutch, which has an input side and an output side which is selectively connectable in terms of rotational drive to the input side, and having a transmission, which has a transmission shaft which is connected or connectable in terms of rotational drive to the output side and which is selectively connectable in terms of rotational drive to a gearwheel by means of a second clutch, wherein a rotor of an electric machine is arranged on the output side, and the electric machine, in motor operation, can be controlled or regulated so as to cause the rotational speeds of the transmission shaft and of the gearwheel to be approximated to or aligned with one another before the closure of the second clutch. The present invention also relates to a method for performing gearshifts in a transmission within a drivetrain of the type according to the invention.

Abstract: The life of an actuator such as a turbocharger VTG actuator is extended by reducing heat conduction from the turbine housing along the control linkage to the actuator link and into the actuator, thereby protecting sensitive electronic components. To this end, the control linkage may be made of a thermal energy retarding material in order to retard heat from the turbine housing assembly reaching the actuator.
