Abstract: Embodiments described herein generally relate to connections for integrated circuit (IC) dies. For example, in an embodiment an integrated circuit (IC) die is provided. The IC die includes a plurality of clusters of pads formed on a surface of the IC die, each cluster being associated with a respective circuit formed in the IC die. Each cluster includes a plurality of micropads each electrically coupled to the circuit associated with the cluster through a respective via and a sacrificial pad coupled to the circuit through the plurality of micropads, the sacrificial pad being larger than each of the micropads.
Abstract: Incoming data packets are often processed according to their origination or destination port. In order to efficiently determine applicable rules based on port values, ranges are stored in association with corresponding rules in a ternary memory. In order to reduce the amount of required memory to store these ranges, extra unused bits of the ACL that includes the rule can be used. Further, to maximize the storage capability of these limited extra bits, most common ranges can be stored in one or more bit partitions depending on whether they encompass other most common ranges to be stored in the extra bits. Through partitioning and intelligent bit assignment, many ranges can be stored in the limited extra bits, and can each remain individually addressable.
Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for a high-speed backward-compatible Ethernet connector are provided. Which, if any, of a plurality of pins of a connector are coupled to a first portion of one or more circuits of an Ethernet PHY may be controlled via one or more switching elements in the Ethernet PHY. The switching element(s) may reside in a signal path between the first portion of the one or more circuits and a second portion of the one or more circuits. One or more configurations of the switching element(s) may couple less than all of the plurality of pins to the first circuit(s). Each signal into and out of the switching element(s) may be a digital signal. The first portion of the one or more circuit may comprise a media independent interface. The second portion of the one or more circuit may comprise a media dependent interface.

Each of the ICs includes a key generator for generating a cipher key; a memory for securely storing the generated cipher key; an authenticating module for authenticating neighboring ICs of a respective IC; an encryption module for encrypting data communicated from the respective IC to the neighboring ICs; and a decryption module for decrypting data received from the neighboring ICs.
Abstract: A video processing system includes a video encoder that encodes a video stream into an independent video layer stream and a first dependent video layer stream that requires the independent video layer for decoding. A scrambling module scrambles the independent video layer stream to produce a scrambled independent video layer stream and leaves the first dependent video layer stream unscrambled.

Abstract: Signals may be communicated between a video source and a video rendering device via and asymmetrical multi-rate Ethernet physical layer (PHY). The asymmetric multi-rate PHY may support multiple rates. The asymmetrical multi-rate Ethernet PHY may handle compressed and/or uncompressed, encrypted and/or unencrypted video signals and may handle audio/video bridging. One or more of the communicated signals may be modified by an echo cancellation operation, a near end cross talk (NEXT) cancellation operation, equalization, a far end cross talk (FEXT) cancellation operation and/or a forward error correction (FEC) operation. An aggregate communication rate may be evenly or unevenly distributed among one or more links coupling the video signal source to the video rendering device. A plurality of links coupling the video signal source to said video rendering device may also be aggregated.
Abstract: Techniques are described for interference reduction using, e.g., a Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) or packet error rate threshold. UEs that implement these techniques may reduce interference among personal area network enabled devices, for example, with the added benefit of reducing power consumption by reduced RF transmissions. By reducing interference, the performance of personal area network devices may be improved.

Abstract: The Optical line terminal (OLT) tracks the number of data packets, bandwidth per user, and other data packet statistics. DDR (DRAM) is used to store the information tracked by the OLT. The DDR is accessed in a burst mode. In particular, the data is initially stored in an on-chip cache memory and then the data is sent periodically to the DDR in a burst mode. Leaky buckets can be used for each flow, and time stamps can be used to determine the last time the bucket was accessed.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a control method, an apparatus and a computer program for antenna tuner parameters of a radio transceiver. The updating moments of the antenna tuner parameters are selected depending on predominant interference status in the receiver. Based on the sensed interference level, an update decision is made whether the external interference is below a selected threshold value. The parameter change is executed only in low interference situations. In high interference levels (low SIR), the antenna tuner parameters are calculated but they are not enforced in the antenna tuner. The control process for updating the antenna tuner parameters is continuous in given time intervals.

Abstract: Systems and methods for adaptive access and handover configuration based on historical data are provided. Access and handover decisions are optimized in a multiple radio access technology environment using historical data associated with network performance. Future needs for access and handovers are predicted using historical data associated with the user and historical data associated with network performance. Performance metrics are received periodically or continuously from nodes in one or more networks at a centralized controller. The centralized multi RAT controller correlates these performance metrics and determines predicted handovers for a user device. Preparations for the predicted handovers can then be made prior to the handover event.

Abstract: Biasing of search query inputs based on local content, device profile and/or activity information. In various embodiments, biasing operations are performed on a search input to a client device in order to improve search result relevancy. The biasing operations produce additional search query elements/context options based on locally-hosted content or other information that may not be readily available to a search engine. The local content may include, for example, images, text, audio/video files, documents, code, applications, social media, etc. One or more of additional search query elements/context options produced by the biasing operations are then utilized in a search query communicated to a search engine. In various alternate embodiments, device activity data extracted from a user's device (such as data generated by device sensors) may likewise be employed to refine search queries. In further embodiments, searching and biasing operations may be performed by an intermediary or proxy device.

Abstract: Digital phase-locked loop (PLL) with dynamic hybrid (mixed analog/digital signal) delta-sigma (??) phase/frequency detector (?? PFD). A hybrid 2nd-order ?? PFD may be implemented based on a continuous-time 1st-order ?? analog-to-digital converter (ADC) enhanced to 2nd-order via closed loop frequency detection. Fine resolution encoding of the ?? PFD output facilitates true multi-bit phase/frequency error digitization with drastically reduced ?? quantization noise. The implementation of low complexity ?? PFD is assisted via digital requantization and adaptive noise cancellation. The PLL includes independent frequency-locking and phase-locking operational modes and all-digital control of a digitally controlled oscillator (DCO).
