Abstract: A first clock generator receives an input clock, generates a first clock signal for use in a first level of a multilevel track and hold circuit of a time-interleaved analog to digital convertor, and generates a time-leading version of the first clock signal. A plurality of second clock generators receive the input clock and generate a corresponding plurality of second clock signals for use in a second level of the multi-level track and hold circuit. The plurality of second level clock generators include an adjustable delay that delays a corresponding one of the plurality of second clock signals by a delay amount that is determined based on a delay control signal. A feedback controller generates the delay control signal based on the time-leading version of the first clock signal and further based on the corresponding one of the plurality of second clock signals.

Abstract: Using DSL modems as data collectors, the modems processes the data to, for example, allow easier interpretation of the line characteristics. In particular, the modems postprocess the data including calibration, filter compensation, determination of the SNR medley from the bits and gains tables and rate conversion. The interpretation process uses the postprocessed data and determines loop characterization, interferer detection, a data reduction estimation and a data rate estimation. The outputs of these determinations least allow for the characterization of the line conditions between the two modems.

Abstract: Common-mode termination within communication systems. Termination is implemented with respect to two respective portions of a system: the intentional signaling within a communication system as well as any unintentional signaling which may be coupled into the system. Such unintentional signaling may be incurred in a variety of ways including via interference which may be generated by the system itself or by other devices or components external to the system. In addition, such unintentional signaling made be characterized as common-mode (CM) signaling, in that, it generally affects different respective portions of the system similarly or in the same manner. Various communication systems may include two or more devices implemented therein, that effectuate signaling via one or more communication links there between. Appropriate termination is made with respect to both the intentional and unintentional signaling portion of the system using any of a variety of impedance types (e.g.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide power-efficient time division duplexing (TDD) mode configurations of frequency division duplexing (FDD) transceivers. Embodiments avoid time slotted operation of the receive and transmit synthesizers, thereby avoiding undesired operation under transient conditions, frequent calibration, and reduced power supply efficiency. In embodiments, a single synthesizer is used to enable TDD operation, thereby reducing power consumption and calibration requirements by approximately 50%. The single synthesizer may be maintained ON at all times, thus allowing the power supply's switching regulator to operate with substantially constant load conditions.
Abstract: A Bluetooth host solves the aforementioned problems by evaluating a Bluetooth service provider server ID and by determining which of a plurality of access IDs map to the server ID and, correspondingly, providing a Bluetooth access ID that corresponds thereto. Accordingly, one Bluetooth host may readily gain access to any one of a plurality of different devices and different types of devices. Additionally, the Bluetooth host includes capacity to store and provide additional supporting information according to the type of device that is the Bluetooth service provider. Generally, the Bluetooth host stores a plurality of access or link IDs in relation to a plurality of master device IDs and, upon detecting a beacon, determines what access or link ID to provide and whether to provide additional stored information.

Abstract: Optimal period rate matching for turbo coding. A means is provided herein by which a nearly optimal (e.g., optimal for one block size and sub-optimal for others) periodic puncturing pattern that depends on a mother code. Any desired rate matching can be achieved using the means and approaches presented herein to ensure an appropriate rate of an encoded block output from a turbo encoder so that the subsequently modulated signal generated there from has the appropriate rate. In addition, some embodiments can also employ shifting for another design level available in accordance with puncturing employed to provide for periodic rate matching. Selectivity can also be employed, such that, a first periodic puncturing pattern can be applied at a first time to ensure a first rate, and a second periodic puncturing pattern can be applied at a second time to ensure a second rate.
Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for a low-complexity spanning tree algorithm in communication networks may comprise preventing loops in a communications network utilizing a distributed sequential algorithm in which there is a single token. Only a network node in possession of this single token may disable a network port. A spanning tree may be generated based on loop prevention. The network ports that may be disabled may be chosen from a port map, where the port map may be obtained by combining a port map identifying ports that are connected to loops with a port map indicating network ports that are to remain enabled. The loop prevention may be initiated by a root node and a token may be generated by the root node when completing the prevention. Network nodes may reduce ingress data rate during loop prevention.
Abstract: A device and method for providing an adaptive bit rate (ABR) proxy is disclosed. An ABR proxy determines an optimal data format to receive content segments for an audio/video (AV) content item from a source ABR server, and generates, based on that format and/or current network conditions, one or more local AV representations for providing content segments for the AV content item to locally connected devices. A local client device selects a local AV representation, and the ABR proxy provides the content segments for the AV content item to the local device in accordance with the selected local AV representation.

Abstract: A wireless power transfer (WPT) station is disclosed for wirelessly transferring power to a WPT enabled device. To initiate charging of the WPT enabled device, the WPT enabled device is simply moved to be proximate to the WPT station. After an initialization and setup period, the WPT station transmits power transfer signals to the WPT enabled device. The WPT enabled device receives the transferred power transfer signals, typically through inductive coupling, and extracts a voltage and/or current therefrom for charging. The extracted voltage and/or current can then be rectified and/or regulated by the WPT enabled device to produce a charging voltage and/or charging current that can be stored in a power storage element, such as a battery or a capacitor to provide some examples, of the WPT enabled device.

Abstract: A method for synchronizing channels on unlicensed bands is described. The method includes determining whether a SCC channel has started to be used by a first network. The SCC channel is a CA channel shared with at least one other network. In response to determining that the SCC channel has been started to be used by the first network, the UE determines an off duration describing a period since a previous SCC channel ON period. A given channel ON period is a continuous period of use of the given channel by the first network, The method also includes, in response to determining that the off duration is less than a minimum threshold duration, performing fine synchronization based on CRS tracking on the SCC channel using course synchronization parameters of the previous SCC channel ON period. Apparatus and computer readable media are also described.
