  • Publication number: 20140173374
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for implementing low-density parity-check codes. These may be used in electronic communications, such as wireless communication systems. A number of processes are implemented for each vector in a plurality of vectors of a coding matrix associated with a low-density parity-check code. These include retrieving, from one or more interleavers, one or more addresses, using the or each retrieved address to retrieve one or more symbols from data and determining a parity-check operation corresponding to a particular said vector using said one or more symbols retrieved from said data. This enables an encoded block to be generated using said data and each of the parity-check operations. It also enables a received code vector to be decoded.

  • Patent number: 8755479
Abstract: Embodiments of this disclosure include methods in which spurs generated by the drifting of an oscillation frequency of an oscillation signal provided by a free-running oscillator may be minimized and/or eliminated from an output signal of a phase locked loop (PLL). Methods include adjusting the free-running oscillator to prevent the oscillation frequency from drifting so that the spurs are eliminated. Performance data generated when the communications device engages a communications channel that is known not to generate spurs is compared to performance data generated when the communications device engages a desired communications channel. The free-running oscillator is adjusted until the two types of performance data are matched. Other methods include adjusting the dithering module of the PLL to prevent the oscillation frequency from drifting so that the spurs are eliminated.

  • Patent number: 8755762
Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) receiver includes an amplifier stage, a blocking module, and a down conversion module. The amplifier stage amplifies an inbound RF signal (includes a desired component and a blocking component) to produce an amplified inbound RF signal. The blocking module generates an oscillation corresponding to a frequency of the blocking component and filters the amplified inbound RF signal based on the oscillation to substantially attenuate the blocking component and to pass, substantially unattenuated, the desired component. The down conversion module converts the desired RF signal component into a baseband or near baseband inbound signal.

  • Patent number: 8754990
Abstract: Methods and systems for processing chroma signals are disclosed. Aspects of one method may include compensating a modulated chroma signal for distortions due to audio trap filtering. The compensated chroma signal may be demodulated to generate U and V chroma signals. The U and V chroma signals may be low pass filtered, and then YC aligned. YC alignment may comprise correcting portions of the U and V chroma signals based on the luma signal. The correction may be based on, for example, correlation between the U and V chroma signals and the Y luma signal, and/or energy level of the Y luma signal. The corrected U and V chroma signals may be chroma sharpened, where a gain parameter may be changed to change a transition slope for the U and V chroma signals. The chroma sharpened signals may also be clamped to reduce overshoot and undershoot.
