Abstract: Embodiments enable secure zero-touch remote provisioning/management of a computer system. A computer system is shipped to end customers with its remote management controller enabled but not provisioned. During automatic testing, for example, provisioning authentication data is embedded into the remote management controller. The computer system vendor harvests the provisioning authentication data or derivative data therefrom from the remote management controller and stores it in a database. Upon sale of the computer system, the computer system vendor provides to the end-customer the harvested data of the computer system's remote management controller. The end-customer can then remotely authenticate a remote provisioning/management console to the remote management controller.

  • Publication number: 20110040893
Abstract: Distributed Internet caching via multiple node caching management. Caching decisions and management are performed based on information corresponding to more than one caching node device (sometimes referred to as a distributed caching node device, distributed Internet caching node device, and/or DCN) within a communication system. The communication system may be composed of one type or multiple types of communication networks that are communicatively coupled to communicate there between, and they may be composed of any one or combination types of communication links therein [wired, wireless, optical, satellite, etc.]). In some instances, more than one of these DCNs operate cooperatively to make caching decisions and direct management of content to be stored among the more than one DCNs. In an alternative embodiment, a managing DCN is operative to make caching decisions and direct management of content within more than one DCNs of a communication system.

  • Patent number: 7889821
Abstract: A filter settings generation operation includes sampling a communication channel to produce a sampled signal. The sampled signal is spectrally characterized across a frequency band of interest to produce a spectral characterization of the sampled signal. This spectral characterization may not include a signal of interest. The spectral characterization is then modified to produce a modified spectral characterization. Filter settings are then generated based upon the modified spectral characterization. Finally, the communication channel is filtered using the filter settings when the signal of interest is present on the communication channel. In modifying the spectral characterization, pluralities of spectral characteristics of the spectral characterization are independently modified to produce the modified spectral characterization. Modifications to the spectral characterization may be performed in the frequency domain and/or the time domain.
