Abstract: A file processing apparatus stores document-definition documents for defining documents, which document-definition documents include document-definition information such as document format information and data-creating condition information for creating document data. The apparatus has record files including files that store data to be used for creating document data. Document data for a first document is displayed on a display unit, and an operator selects or designates one of plural data in the document data displayed on the display unit, and the designated data is temporarily stored. When the operator designates a second document to be created, the second document is created based on the document-definition information included in the document-definition document corresponding to the second document, data stored in the file of the record files, and the designated data temporarily stored.
Abstract: A data search apparatus is capable of searching for a face image, character data corresponding to the face image, and/or a combination of the face data and character data, based only on part of the data which compose the face image. In such case, one or more part data, such as eyes, nose, etc. composing the face image is designated by a key input unit, and image data including part data which coincides with the designated part data, is read out from memory. The found face image is then displayed on a display unit, along with character data corresponding thereto.
Abstract: A data storage device includes a memory for storing fixed-form data such as schedule data and a memory for storing handwriting memory data. When a particular key is operated when a schedule is displayed, a memorandum input screen is opened on the display. The user is able to input memorandum data by handwriting on the input screen or read-out and display already stored memorandum data on the input screen. By operating a key displayed on the input screen, the written or read-out memory data can be stuck as a memorandum to the displayed schedule or its date.
Abstract: A toner collector includes a tube having at least one opening in an intermediate portion between both end portions, one of the both end portions being closed, a toner collecting bag covering the tube, and connected to the tube at the both end portions of the tube, and a waste toner transfer member, connected to the other of the both end portions of the tube, for transferring toner to the other of the both end portions from an outer side of the tube.
Abstract: On one of a pair of substrates sandwiching a liquid crystal, a pair of signal lines, a pair of scanning lines intersecting these signal lines at right angles, a picture element electrode arranged in the region surrounded by the signal lines and the scanning lines, and a first alignment layer on which alignment treatment is applied in a first alignment direction, are formed. On the other of the substrates, a counter electrode, and a second alignment layer on which alignment treatment is applied in a second alignment direction, are formed. The alignment treatments on the first and second alignment layers are mutually carried out so that the side of the picture element electrode at which an optical leakage caused by disclination of a liquid crystal appears largest is near one of the pair of signal lines.
Abstract: A data communication system comprises a portable data processing terminal, such as an electronic notebook, and an external data processing apparatus, such as a personal computer. When the electronic notebook is connected to an RS232C I/F box connected to the personal computer, an I/F switch provided in the electronic notebook is switched on to supply a connection signal to an RS232C I/F circuit in the electronic notebook. An interruption signal is supplied from the RS232C I/F circuit to a CPU of the electronic notebook so that a communication program previously stored in a ROM is activated and a communication request is sent to the personal computer. The personal computer responds to the communication request sent from the electronic notebook and returns a response signal so that a data communication process is performed.
Abstract: A thin antenna 20 having a satisfactory length, its making method, and an electronic device such as a wristwatch having such antenna. The antenna 20 is formed on a lower surface of a transparent plate 5 by printing an ornamental layer 22 on a lower surface of the transparent plate 5, forming a conductive ink layer 23 on the ornamental layer 22, and further forming plated metal layers 24, 25 on the conductive ink layer 23. Since the antenna 20 is thin as a whole, it may be provided within a small electronic device such as a wristwatch.
Abstract: A received data processing system is composed of a transmitter which includes a transmission unit which sends by radio sensor data such as a pulse rate obtained by a pulse sensor, a wrist watch which receives the sensor data from the transmitter using a reception unit and displays it on a display, and an external storage attached removably to the wrist watch for storing the received sensor data. Since the transmitter is attached closely to the human body to sense a pulse rate, detection of the pulse rate is ensured even if the user is in exercise. Since data on the pulse rate is stored in the removable external storage through the wrist watch, the system can process a large amount of data.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of image carriers arranged side by side along the outer surface of a conveying portion of a transfer belt. The transfer belt is stretched between a first upstream roller and a second downstream roller. An image forming medium is conveyed on the belt so as to have multiple color images transferred thereto. The transfer belt has a swing lever so as to move the belt between a horizontal full color position and an inclined monochrome position. A stationary support roller which is arranged within the transfer belt and at a position nearer to the second downstream roller maintains a position of the image forming medium constant even when a monochrome image is being transferred. In addition, an electrostatic attraction roller located outside the transfer belt is arranged at a specific angle relative to the first roller to assist in the attraction of the image forming medium to the transfer belt.
Abstract: A file update processing apparatus which enables execution of an intended file processing in accordance with the description contents of a correspondence slip and a generation table without requesting a system engineer to design a file processing program when a general person in charge who understands specific items required for a file in execution of daily operations sets predetermined items in the correspondence slip and the generation table so as to match his own business contents. When an original book registration slip, a journalizing table, and an expansion table are input from an input unit, an input processor registers them in correspondence with data files. A file processor generates a record on the basis of items set in the original book registration slip and items generated on the basis of the generation tables and updates the data file on the basis of this record.
