Patents Assigned to Casio Computer
  • Patent number: 5390331
Abstract: Various calculations and also games are executed when one of memory devices, for instance, IC cards into which various application programs have been stored is electrically connected to a data processing device. The respective memory devices store ID codes preselected to the sorts thereof. The data processing device compares the ID code used in the previous data processing operation with the ID code being used in the present data processing operation while executing the application program of the memory device, and judges whether or not the same memory device is being electrically connected to the data processing device. When a judgement is made that the different memory device is electrically connected, the memory content of the memory for executing the application program employed in the data processing device is cleared, and another program of the memory device newly connected to the data processing device is performed with employment of the memory the content of which has been cleared.

  • Patent number: 5384836
Abstract: A facsimile apparatus receives identification dataidentifying a particular destination terminal, at the time of transmitting document data to the destination terminal via a telephone line. A memory unit stores, as a data pair, a facsimile number input by manual dialing, and the identification data returned from the destination terminal. A display unit displays the identification data. A selection unit selects one of the identification data displayed on the display means. A line connecting unit reads out a facsimile number stored in the memory means and corresponding to the selected identification data, and connects the facsimile apparatus to a telephone line corresponding to the readout facsimile number.

  • Patent number: 5381719
Abstract: A blower provided, for example, at the bottom of a predetermined concavity in an electronic keyboard instrument supplies an air blast to a light ball to blow same up, using a fan rotated by a motor. In this case, a motor controller controls the rotational speed of the motor on the basis of the amplitude of a tone signal output from an amplifier. As a result, the ball moves up and down in accordance with the amplitude of the tone signal. The motor controller may control the rotational speed of the motor on the basis of a pitch for controlling the generation of a tone signal, velocity, timbre, automatic performance tempo, rhythm pattern or a change in the pitch or a combination of some or all of them, and not on the basis of the amplitude of the generated tone signal by itself.

  • Patent number: 5379339
Abstract: A radio telephone system is comprised of a communication network, a cordless telephone apparatus and a plurality of public radio base stations, both being connected to the communication network, and a handset unit of the cordless telephone apparatus is capable of exchanging messages with the plurality of public radio base stations. The cordless telephone apparatus is provided with a control-data storage unit for storing data of controlling handsets unit belonging to the cordless telephone apparatus. The control-data storage unit stores data each comprising a combination of an extension number and a phone number of a handset unit. The cordless telephone apparatus judges whether a handset unit to be reached is in a service area of the apparatus, when the handset unit is called from another handset unit of the cordless telephone apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5378859
Abstract: This application discloses a film wiring board for directly mounting an electronic parts such as an IC chip, on which a protective film having an opening can be formed in one step by a screen printing. This film wiring board has wiring patterns including connection pads and lead wires. Connection electrodes of the IC chip are connected to the connection pads via soldering bumps. Since the width of each of the lead wires is comparatively small at 10 .mu.m-30 .mu.m, the once molten solder when the connection is done is kept on the corresponding connection pad by the surface tension and is prevented from flowing from the connection pad to the corresponding lead wire. Therefore, since the opening of the protective film need not have a function for stopping the flow of the solder, there may be no problem if the opening is comparatively enlarged.

  • Patent number: 5378862
Abstract: A switch which provides different switching inputs by pushing different operating portions of a single operating button is disclosed. The switch comprises an operating button the periphery of which has a plurality of operating portions, a support provided at the center of the rear portion of the button, a casing having a plurality of through-holes defined opposite the operating portions of the button, and a plurality of operating shafts received in the through-holes. The rear surface of the button has bosses in and out of point-contact with the operating shafts. Although the bosses are rotated about the support for the button, the operating shafts receives simple axial forces. This secures good operation of the switch.

  • Patent number: 5377028
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates facing each, first and second electrodes formed on each inner surface of the substrates and arranged so that they are crossed and face each other, first and second aligning films covering each inner surface of the substrates and said first and second electrodes and provided with an aligning treatment in a direction respectively, and a liquid crystal member sealed between the substrates by a seal layer. The liquid crystal layer is twistingly aligned by the aligning force of said first and second aligning films at an angle of approx. 230.degree. to 250.degree., and has a positive dielectric anisotropy. The liquid crystal layer includes a liquid crystal member having a dielectric constant ratio .DELTA..epsilon./.epsilon..perp. defined as a ratio of the dielectric anisotropy .DELTA..epsilon. and the dielectric constant .epsilon..perp. with the direction orthogonal to the liquid crystal molecule axis of 2 or less, and a elastic constant ratio K.sub.
