Patents Assigned to Comcast Cable Communications, LLC
  • Patent number: 12647644
Abstract: Methods and systems for packaging, transcoding, and fragmenting files (e.g., video content) are described. Video content may be transcoded into fix size, variable duration fragments files that satisfy a target fragment file size. Those fragment files may be received, decoded to recover original frames of the underlying video, and then repackaged as new fragment files that are grouped based on overall file size. As a result, the new fragments may have different playback durations, but their overall file sizes may be the same and/or within a target fragment file size (TFS).

  • Patent number: 12647628
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing user defined content transmissions are disclosed. An example method can comprise receiving a request for first content and receiving a first preference. First content can be retrieved from a first source based on the request for first content. Second content can be retrieved from a second source based on the first preference. The first content and second content can be packaged for transmission in response to receiving the request and the first preference.

  • Patent number: 12641256
Abstract: A block vector predictor (BVP) may be adjusted to provide a more accurate prediction of a block vector (BV). A coder (e.g., encoder or decoder) may determine that the at least one component of the BVD may be equal to zero (or, e.g., null), for example, based on a position of the Current Block (CB) relative to a boundary of the reference region. Consequently, the encoder may skip signaling, and the decoder may skip parsing, of the at least one component of the BVD in the bitstream.

  • Patent number: 12641597
Abstract: A wireless device may communicate with a base station by using overlapping transmissions. Overlapping transmissions may comprise a plurality of transmissions, such as a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission, a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission, etc. A rule may be applied to indicate/determine power prioritization. For example, a rule may be used to indicate which of overlapping transmissions of a same type/channel (e.g., PUSCH, PUCCH, etc.) may be dropped or transmitted using a reduced power if the overlapping transmissions would otherwise exceed a power threshold.

  • Patent number: 12640980
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing services are disclosed. One aspect comprises determining a plurality of services to be provided over a first communication path to a destination, determining a select service of the plurality of services to be provided over a failover path to the destination, detecting a failure of the first communication path, and routing the select service over the failover path in response to the failure of the first communication path.

  • Patent number: 12639404
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for preauthorizing a batch of access rights licenses, e.g., Digital Rights Management (DRM) licenses, and storing them at a location. The preauthorization may be based on predicting a batch of content items to be viewed. The location may be a content server or a user device. After receiving a request from the user device to play back a content item of the batch of predicted content items, the DRM license may be provided from the storage location instead of performing an authorization operation to obtain one from a DRM server. Providing the DRM license from the storage location may take less time than performing the authorization operation to obtain the DRM license from the DRM server.

  • Patent number: 12634553
Abstract: Methods and systems related to processing multiple data streams are disclosed. For example, a computing device may receive a data stream corresponding to a content item, and generate additional data streams by sampling the data stream, for example, using different sampling regions. Another data stream at a higher resolution than each of the additional data streams may then be generated by combining elements (e.g., pixels) of the additional data streams.

  • Patent number: 12633952
Abstract: Wireless communications may use one or more devices for transmission and/or reception that may lead to potentially harmful exposure. One or more safety measures may be used for wireless communication devices, such as maximum power exposure (MPE) reporting and/or related operations. A time window may be used to detect a quantity of exposure instances. A message may be sent indicating exposure, for example, based on a quantity of exposure events during the time window satisfying a threshold.

  • Patent number: 12634344
Abstract: A destination host on a first network may attempt to initiate a communication session with a source host on a second network. The attempt may be intercepted by a first policy enforcement point, which may forward a message to the source host associated with the communication session. The source host may send an acknowledgment to the destination host via the first policy enforcement point. A policy decision point may determine that the communication session is permissible. The policy decision point may send a response to the first policy enforcement point and a second policy enforcement point. The response may indicate an approval of the communication session. The source host may respond to the destination host through either a first connection path and the first policy enforcement point or a second connection and the second policy enforcement point.

  • Patent number: 12634946
Abstract: A transmission power for a wireless communication may be determined based on one or more criteria. A default transmission power may be based on one or more default transmission power control parameters indicated by a base station. One or more default transmission power control parameters may be determined, for a transmission by a wireless device, based on whether the transmission is via a serving cell or via a non-serving cell.

  • Patent number: 12634998
Abstract: Wireless devices may be configured to communicate with one or more base stations. One or more wireless devices may be configured with a plurality of reference signal received power (RSRP) thresholds that correspond to different repetition numbers for random access (RA) message repetitions. One of the RSRP thresholds may be used to determine a repetition number, and RA message repetitions may be transmitted based on the determined repetition number.

  • Patent number: 12634244
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to admission control of a communication session in a network. The admission control can be implemented by a network node at the boundary of the network or a subsystem thereof. In one aspect, the admission control can be implemented during a predetermined period and can be based at least on an admission criterion, which can be specific to an end-point device, e.g., a target device or an origination device. The admission criterion can be configurable and, in certain implementations, it can be obtained from historical performance associated with establishment of communication session. Such historical performance can be assessed within a period of a configurable span.

  • Patent number: 12634538
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for controlling sharing of content targeting data (e.g., user-specific data and/or device-specific data) with content-outputting software applications outputting both primary content and secondary content. A user may specify whether the user wants to receive targeted secondary content from the content outputting-software applications. The user may also specify whether the user wants to share content targeting data with the content-outputting software applications. Content targeting data may be shared based on whether the content targeting data is used for selecting targeted secondary content for the user.
