Abstract: Systems, methods, or apparatus may comprise a computing device to transmit a first plurality of beacon frames, where each beacon frame includes a first network identifier, and a second plurality of beacon frames, where each beacon frame includes a different second network identifier. Further, the computing device may also cause the wireless transceiver to transmit the first plurality of beacon frames using a transmission parameter, and transmit the second plurality of beacon frames using a different transmission parameter—that differs from the transmission parameter of the first plurality of beacon frames.

Abstract: A user may select, edit, and share a portion of content. An interface may be used to select, edit, or comment on the portion of the content. One or more playlists may be generated for the selected portion of content and may be used to access the selected portion of content.

Abstract: Provided herein are methods and systems for enabling users to provide contextually relevant information, such as feedback, relating to a content item. A computing device may receive a request for a content item. The computing device may receive the request and analyze a first portion of the content item to determine contextual information associated with the first portion. The computing device may determine one or more suggestions for contextually relevant items, such as symbols, to enable use of the symbols to provide information. The computing device may send the one or more suggestions with the first portion of the content item.

Abstract: A content provider may receive an indication for supplemental content to be output to a target audience, determine a first content item to be viewed by the target audience based on one or more characteristics of the target audience, and may send an indication for the supplemental content to be output at a time associated with the output of the first content item. The content provider may determine a quantity of devices which output the supplemental content for a first time and may determine that this quantity of devices is below a target quantity of devices to output the supplemental content for the first time during a particular time period. The content provider may determine a second content item to be viewed by the target audience and may send an indication for the supplemental content to be output at a time associated with output of the second content item.

Abstract: Systems for distributed controlled access to data stored across a plurality of sources are disclosed. A plurality of content providers maintain user databases. A first distributed database contains a master identifier for each user of each content provider. Stored in relation to the master identifier are the locations of the user's data in each of the content providers. A second distributed database comprises data identifying for each of the users, entities that are authorized to access the user's data. In response to a request from an entity, the second database is queried and, based upon access rights data, user's whose data the requesting entity may view are determined. The first distributed database is queried to determine for the identified user, the location of user data. The data is retrieved and stored at a location accessible by the entity. The second distributed database is updated to record the data access.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for performing trick plays of segmented video content are provided. A point at which a trick play begins may be based on a playback time associated with a video segment that includes the video frame currently displayed when a request to start the trick play is received. A point at which to resume playback of the normal rate video content may be similarly based on a trick play playback time associated with a trick play video segment that includes the trick play video frame currently outputted when a request to stop the trick play is received.

Abstract: Methods, systems, computer readable media, and apparatuses are disclosed for providing event messages to a user. The event messages may include video data or a link to video of the event. In some variations, a user or content provider may define criteria for the event messages that are to be displayed to the user. The event messages may be stored so that a user may be able to browse through the stored event messages and decide when to view the video of the event. Upon a user's selection of the event message, the video of the event may be displayed to the user on the same display device or another display device.

Abstract: According to some aspects, disclosed methods and systems may include determining, by a device and based on historical data associated with a first user, a first user profile comprising one or more content recommendation periods each associated with a time period and a content classification, and in response to detecting a user interaction, selecting a first content recommendation period of the one or more content recommendation periods. The plurality of time allocations can comprise a first time allocation which can be determined based on an information rate, a committed information rate, an excess information rate, an effective bandwidth rate, other factors, or a combination thereof. Data can be received from multiple sources into a buffer, for example, and can be processed within a time cycle if processing the data will not exceed the time allocation.

Abstract: Wireless communications are described. A wireless device may be configured to transmit a first signal via a first cell group that may overlap in time with a second signal via a second cell group. The wireless device may adjust a signal transmission power of at least one of the first signal or the second signal. Additionally or alternatively, the wireless device may drop at least one of the first signal or the second signal. Adjusting and/or dropping at least one of the first signal or the second signal may be based on the overlap in time of these signals satisfying a duration threshold and a total power to transmit the first signal and the second signal exceeding a power threshold.

Abstract: The quality of stored content may be managed prior to output. A computing device may request and receive content segments for output via the computing device. The content segments may comprise content encoded at a first bit rate selected by the computing device. The first content segments may be stored in a memory of the computing device, such as a buffer, until output at their respective presentation times. If network conditions improve, the computing device may improve the quality of at least one of the first content segments stored in the memory. The quality may be improved by requesting a higher bit rate version of the content segment and replacing, in the memory, the first content segment with the higher bit rate version of the content segment. The quality of the first content segment may be improved by adding data to the first content segment.

An example method may comprise pausing or otherwise interrupting a call based on determining the call includes a request for sensitive information from a party to the call. An identity of the party to the call may be verified and the call may be resumed based on the verification of the identity of the party to the call.

A wireless device may select, based on a determined failure, a suitable candidate resource for cell(s), such as secondary cell(s). The wireless device may use the suitable candidate resource, such as a candidate beam, for an uplink channel transmission via a secondary cell, for example, until a new uplink channel configuration/activation is received.

Abstract: A reduced-complexity Internet of Things sensor is disclosed. An example apparatus comprises memory storing one or more sensor event messages, a radio configured to determine a sensor event, a counter configured to output incremental counter states, and a control circuitry. The control circuitry may be in communication with the memory, the radio, and counter, and the sensor. The control circuitry may be configured to determine, based on the sensor event, a select sensor event message of the one or more sensor event messages. The control circuitry may be further configured to output, via the radio signal, a packet comprising the select event message and an indication of a counter state associated with the sensor event message.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for monitoring, maintaining, and selecting one or more network connections. One or more network connections may be selected based on preferences. A connection manager may create a consistent access point for connecting devices. The connection manager may manage transmissions between the devices and the one or more network connections, such that the devices maintain consistent connectivity. The connection manager may detect erratic behavior in one or more of the connections, and may take action to enhance performance, consistency, and quality of the connection. The connection manager may respond to heartbeat or keep-alive type requests on behalf of a temporarily unavailable network connection, thereby maintaining a data state or preventing data loss by the connected device. The connection manager may also provide for secure VPN tunnels over the one or more networks.
