Abstract: Delay in output of a requested content asset by a user device may be reduced by sending a portion of the content asset to the user device in a particular type of format, such as an unsecured format. The unsecured portion of the content asset may be sent to the user device while a license for the content asset is being processed. The size of the unsecured portion of the content asset may be determined based on a time for the user device to receive the license. The time for the user device to receive the license may be determined based on a time to process the license. After sending the license to the user device, another portion of the content asset may be sent to the user device in a secured format. The user device may use the license to access the secured portion of the content asset.

Abstract: An encoder may determine one or more encoding characteristics associated with a content segment of a content asset. The one or more encoding characteristics may comprise an estimated bitrate required for transmission of the content segment over a network. The one or more encoding characteristics associated with the content segment may be inserted into a portion of an other content segment, such as into a header of the other content segment. The content segment and the other content segment may be configured for linear transmission, such as using adaptive bitrate streaming. When the other content segment is received at a playback device prior to the content segment, the playback device may use the one or more encoding characteristics of the content segment embedded in the header of the other content segment to determine one or more playback characteristics of the content segment.

Abstract: A method of data conditioning is disclosed that in one aspect can include the steps of receiving a data stream, encoding a time code in the data stream to identify a portion of the data stream corresponding to a content fragment, and separating the identified portion of the data stream to define the content fragment, wherein the content fragment comprises the encoded time code.

Abstract: A wireless device may receive configuration parameters of cells comprising a primary cell that is not configured with scheduling request (SR) resources and a secondary cell that is configured with SR resources and that is in a secondary timing advance group (sTAG). A wireless device may determine to perform an SR process. Based on the wireless device not having an uplink data channel resource available in a time interval and not having a valid timing advance for the secondary cell in the time interval, the wireless device may initiate a random access procedure.

Abstract: Wireless communications may use a plurality of cell groups. A downlink-uplink cell may be assigned to each cell group of a plurality of cell groups, and each of a plurality of downlink-only cells may be assigned to a cell group of the plurality of cell groups. A wireless device may transmit an uplink signal via a downlink-uplink cell based on a timing advance command.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for providing content. An example method can comprise receiving, at a content provider, a request for a content transmission from a first device and determining a parameter related to the first content transmission and comparing the parameter to a threshold. An example method can comprise determining, by the content provider, a second content transmission based on the comparison to the threshold and providing the second content transmission to the first in response to the request.

A central unit control plane (CU-CP) node of a base station may activate and/or deactivate packet duplication based on status information from self-monitoring, from a distributed unit (DU), from a wireless device, and/or from a central unit user plane (CU-UP) node. The CU-UP node and/or the DU may activate and/or deactivate packet duplication based on status information from self-monitoring, from each other, from the wireless device, and/or from the CU-CP node. The CU-UP node and/or the DU, after activating and/or deactivating packet duplication, may report the activation and/or deactivation to the CU-CP node.

Abstract: A wireless device may receive radio resource control (RRC) messaging comprising a field indicating a starting symbol for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). The wireless device may monitor for at least one PDCCH candidate. A PDCCH candidate may start based on a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure, the starting symbol, and the offset value.

Abstract: A computing device may provide content items to user devices requesting the content items. The computing device may receive the content item, in portions, from a source, and may send the portions to the user device. The computing device may send a first portion before the computing device receives all of the content item from the source. The request may also be associated with an expiration period, and the expiration period may affect the sending of the content item to the user device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are disclosed for server selected bitrate streaming. A server receives a request from a user device for data segments at a first bitrate. The server determines a second bitrate for transmission of the data segments to the user device. The server transmits the requested data segments at the determined second bitrate.

Abstract: A first base station may communicate with a second base station regarding a wireless device and handover. The first base station may send the wireless device's configuration to the second base station, and may receive, from the second base station, configuration parameters of carriers associated with the wireless device. The carriers may be of different types, and may have differences regarding reference signals. The first base station may inform the wireless device of the configuration parameters.

Abstract: Wireless communications are described. A wireless device and/or a base station may provide improved resource management. A base station may configure and/or transmit a beam failure recovery medium access control control element (BFR MAC CE) to a wireless device to configure particular cells to use particular assigned candidate beams from a pool of shared candidate beams during beam failure recovery operations. The BFR MAC CE may provide orthogonality in beams that may be designated for use by active cells out of a shared pool of beams that may not be orthogonal across all potentially available cells.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to the delivery of media content over a network. Specifically, aspects are directed to identification and/or extraction of a selected data such as a video clip from content and providing identifying information to a user to retrieve, view, and/or share the selected video clip. Aspects described herein provide the ability to identify a starting point and stopping point of a video clip on a media gateway device and generate a URL that can be used and/or shared in order to access the selected video clip. The URL may identify a stored media clip, or may contain information from which a video clip can be recreated.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for audience metric determination are described herein. An audience segment may be targeted for delivery of content. A clustering algorithm may be used to categorize a quantity of users or devices into subsets based on a propensity to consume, present or output a particular type of content, and a quantity of time to output the particular type of content. A weight may be assigned to each subset based on its relevance to other subsets, such as based on data variance, e.g., on a distance to a midpoint of a specific subset of the subsets. An index parameter may be determined for the datasets, e.g., based on each weight for each subset, and data may be generated that reflects a ranking of content delivery spots for delivery of content to the audience segment.

Abstract: Methods and systems for content delivery are described. A content delivery network may include a request server that receives a request for content from a client device. The request server may send the request to each caching device among a plurality of caching devices. Each caching device may receive the service query and assess its current health based on one or more parameters. Each caching device may wait for a duration of time before responding to the request based on the determined current health. The caching device that is first to respond to the request may be the caching device that has the most available resources to provide the requested content to the client device.

Abstract: Methods and systems described herein generate content that quickly cycles between different-colored frames at a rapid rate that may be imperceptible to human viewers. The human eye tends to blend nearby frames together, so that a human viewer will see a full color spectrum even though only a single color is displayed at any given time. The video display may repeatedly cycle between individual color frames, thus providing video content that appears normal to a human viewer. However, a video recording device may capture only some of the color frames. Therefore, the video recorded by video recording devices may include undesirable color flicker or other color artifacts, which may deter unauthorized copying.

Abstract: Disclosures relate to a sensor system and arrangements having different sized removable spacers. The spacers may be mixed and matched as needed or desired to compensate for misalignment conditions. Further, different spacer combinations and adjustments may be guided by a security management computing device. Variations in configurations of mounting surfaces, such as door and window assemblies, may be accommodated. Alignment of a transmitter or a receiving device, e.g., a magnetic device, with respect to a transmitter or receiving device despite misalignment of the components due to, for example, uneven surfaces of a door or a window, or a respective frame may be achieved.

Abstract: Methods and systems for modifying a search result are described. A computing device may receive a query. A search result based on the query may be determined. The computing device may modify the search result based on a term of the query.

Abstract: Graphical descriptor data associated with a particular video asset may include data for one or more graphical descriptor images and graphical descriptor metadata related to each graphical descriptor image. The graphical descriptor images can be simultaneously presented on a display screen with the video asset content and used to navigate to different content in that video asset. The graphical descriptors can also be used to navigate to content of one or more different assets.
