Abstract: Services associated with an order for a wireless device of a wireless subscriber are decomposed into core services and non-core services. Separate provisioning jobs are provided for asynchronously provisioning the core services and the non-core services. Upon successful completion of the provisioning of the core services and without regard to completion of the provisioning of the non-core services, an account for the subscriber is established in a billing system to allow immediate use of the core services by the wireless subscriber and immediate billing for usage of the core services by the wireless subscriber.

Abstract: To circumvent being blacklisted by an ISP, some viruses use a domain name generator algorithm or a domain generator algorithm (DGA). In an example, the DGA may use the current date and time to generate a random domain name based on the date. So for a given date, the botnet registers a particular domain in order to control the Trojan horse virus. The domain name that the botnet uses typically changes every day, which helps circumvent blacklisting. To counteract that, the disclosed systems and methods of DNS greylisting place a domain name in a grey list for a time period, for example a day, that the domain is resolved by the ISP. The first time the ISP experiences a customer trying to contact a particular domain, the ISP prevents the domain from resolving. After the time period (for example, 24 hours) expires, the domain is allowed to resolve normally.
Abstract: Systems and methods for redirecting content from a first user device to a second user device is disclosed. The first user device may generate a redirection request message and transmit the redirection request message to a video back office server. The redirection request message may contain information pertaining to the user device to which the content is to be redirected and information related to a current session of the rendering the content. The video back office server may instantiate a redirection of the content to the second user device based at least in part on the received redirection request message.
Abstract: Systems and methods for distributing content over various mediums in a service provider network are disclosed. Such mediums may include an optical fiber and a cable line having a bandwidth less than that associated with the optical fiber. In certain embodiments herein, content may be distributed over the cable line, or relatively low bandwidth medium, according to characteristics of the optical fiber, or relatively high bandwidth medium. In one embodiment, data packets may be scheduled using first in first out (FIFO) scheduling for distribution over the cable line using Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). Using this approach, increased bandwidths may be achieved over cable lines. Additionally, certain embodiments herein are directed to maintaining a forward/reverse channel split, which may exist in a PON, over a cable line. Further, certain embodiments herein may relate to dynamic allocation of subcarriers in an OFDM signal in response to changes in quality of service.
Abstract: Systems and methods for associating applications with an electronic program guide are provided. An electronic program guide that includes television schedule information organized in a grid by time and channel may be generated. The electronic program guide may be configured for presentation to a user by an electronic program guide application executed by a programming processing component associated with the user. A second application different from the electronic program guide application may be associated with an entry in the grid of the electronic program guide. The second application may be configured for execution by the programming processing component based at least in part upon the user selecting the entry. Once generated, the electronic program guide may be output for receipt by the programming processing component.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for assigning a customer device to a group of customer devices for the transmission of broadband data signals. A communications signal output by a customer device associated with a customer of the service provider may be received by a service provider system. The service provider system may be associated with the service provider, and the service provider system may include one or more computers. The received communications signal may be processed by the service provider system to determine a linear impairment associated with the customer device. Based at least in part on the linear impairment, a frequency range at which communications will be output by the service provider system for receipt by the customer device may be determined.
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems and methods related to location-based content delivery. Data from one or more indoor position system (IPS) beacons may be received. A location for a user device may be determined based at least in part on the received data. Content, such as advertisements, may be retrieved based at least in part on the location of the user device. A notification generated based at least in part on the content may be transmitted to the user device.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is simultaneous processing of multiple MPEG audio packetized elementary streams (PES). Each audio PID gets processed separately, substantially simultaneously. Example embodiments of the systems and methods of video delivery to a multilingual audience disclosed herein enable the processing of two or more audio tracks within the same transport stream simultaneously and deliver each audio to separate audio outputs where one of the outputs may be going to a wireless headset, a secondary room or a secondary screen. The main language audio (PES) is rendered with the video on the main screen, or the different audio streams may be rendered concurrently in different rooms such as in a business application. The main screen would have the main video along with its original language audio while the dubbed audio will be processed and played at the same time with the original video.
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for allowing a monitoring party to have intermediary control over a communication between a calling party and a called party. A notification may be sent to a monitoring party of an incoming communication attempt to a called party, and the monitoring party may control the routing and/or processing of the communication based on a real-time response to the notification.
Abstract: A telecommunications network capacity planning system. The telecommunications network capacity planning system includes a telecommunications network including a telecommunications services provider, subscribers and a network coupling the telecommunications services provider and the subscribers for provisioning of the telecommunications services. A database system is used for collecting and storing data at the user-level associated with provisioning of telecommunication services over the telecommunications network. A processor is coupled to the database system. The processor models the telecommunications network by generating upward projections from the stored user-level data and transforms the modeling of the network to a visual display of capacity information and network parameters for manipulation to evaluate capacity planning scenarios.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing latency caused by information server processing of subscriber request wherein a plurality of content streams defined by a playlist are sequentially provided to a subscriber in a substantially seamless manner and wherein the playlist is updated and otherwise maintained in response to subscriber commands and requests.

Abstract: A telephone fraud prevention system is provided. A fraud application server is in communication with a fraud database and a switch that determines which calls are sent to the fraud application server. A policy function may be integrated with existing fraud detection and correlation systems. When a call is originated and authentication fails, whether that's through a PIN, voice recognition, etc., the fraud application server sends a message indicating that this customer has failed to authenticate. After a number of authentication failures, evidence of high-risk calling is determined. Instead of reactively dealing with the fraud, the risk has been captured at the fraud application server and the switch blocks potential damage from that call and from that user.

Abstract: A private customer IP address is mapped to a public NAT address using a repeatable, reversible algorithm. A given private IP address must always map to the same public IP address and a fixed range of source ports. In the mapped address translation (MAT) implementation, private IP addresses are mapped to public IP/port ranges by borrowing bits from the 16 bit port number.
Abstract: Systems and methods for locating a possible failure on a power network are provided. In one embodiment, a method may include determining that a possible power network failure exists based on a first group of network devices without battery back-up capabilities having an inactive status and a second groups of network devices with battery back-up capabilities having an active status on a communications network, wherein each of the network devices are adapted for receiving at least primary power from a power network; determining addresses for at least a portion of the first or the second groups of network devices; locating the addresses on a power network grid topology; and identifying at least one power network component or power network segment as a possible power network failure location based on locations of the at least a portion of the first or the second groups of network devices.
