Abstract: Examples of systems and methods for monitoring metabolic activity and detectors for detecting photons are disclosed. The methods can include detection in a front and a rear detector of a photon to determine a Compton cone. This Compton cone may be combined with further Compton cone, or Line of Response calculation to determine an origin of nuclear decay. In examples of the systems and methods, substantially real-time visualization of nuclear decay can be achieved.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for providing an aseptic chromatography column, said method comprising the steps of: pre-sterilize an empty chromatography column; pre-sterilize a chromatography medium; introducing the pre-sterilized chromatography medium into the pre-sterilized chromatography column using aseptic equipment, thereby providing an aseptic chromatography column comprising chromatography medium.
Abstract: Disclosed are a yttrium-doped barium fluoride crystal and a preparation method and the use thereof, wherein the yttrium-doped barium fluoride crystal has a chemical composition of Ba(1?x)YxF2+x, in which 0.01?x?0.50. The yttrium-doped BaF2 crystal of the present invention has improved scintillation performance. The yttrium doping may greatly suppress the slow luminescence component of the BaF2 crystal and has an excellent fast/slow scintillation component ratio. The doped crystal is coupled to an optical detector to obtain a scintillation probe which is applicable to the fields of high time resolved measurement radiation such as high-energy physics, nuclear physics, ultrafast imaging and nuclear medicine imaging.

This is achieved by including free fatty acids in the soap bar composition while ensuring that part of the free fatty acid is hydroxy stearic acid.
Abstract: Optical touch sensors may be adversely affected by noise, such as modulated sunlight incident on the touch sensor. An analog optical detector is provided that includes a frequency dependent emitter feedback circuitry that does not substantially reduce the gain for a first modulation frequency range of the photodiode current and provides, for a second modulation frequency range of the photodiode current, a current feedback to reduce the gain of the first transistor. The second modulation frequency may include one or more expected noise modulation frequencies. A touch sensor device including a plurality of such optical detectors is also provided. Also provided is a touch sensor device comprising sampling disable circuitry operable to disable sampling of the output from the optical detectors for a duration of time.
