  • Patent number: 4099227
Abstract: A circuit for sensing the motor stator voltage on any one or more phases of an AC electrical drive system. In a three phase system, all three phases of the motor terminal voltage are applied to a modified six-pulse rectifier bridge which in turn feeds a loading resistor. A resistor is added in series with each diode pair of the six-pulse rectifier bridge in order to provide any degree of attenuation of the peak voltage developed across the load resistor by simply varying the resistance values of these series input resistors and the load resistor. The resulting DC voltage generated across the load resistor is then fed into a differential amplifier (stage) where the voltage is attenuated and impedance isolated from the source to provide a DC output which is proportional to the average applied AC motor stator voltage.

  • Patent number: 4097357
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for regenerating zinc from an alkaline zincate solution. To this end, the solution is contacted with two electrodes under tension, so that zinc is deposited on the negative electrode and oxygen is evolved at the positive electrode, the solution being conveyed at a sufficient speed for the zinc to be deposited and then detached from the electrode. In an alternative embodiment, during a first period, the solution is conveyed at a low or zero speed so that the zinc can be deposited, and is then conveyed at a higher speed so as to detach the zinc particles. The negative electrode is preferably made of magnesium and can be a cylindrical bar or inter alia can be formed with projections. The invention is applicable to electric vehicles.

  • Patent number: 4096933
Abstract: A coin-operated vending machine accepts any combination of valid coins which are deposited and automatically returns the correct change when the merchandise is dispensed. The amount of change represents the difference between the total value of the accepted coins and the price of the selected merchandise. A digital data processing circuit is employed for recognizing the validity and denomination of all deposited coins and any unacceptable coin that falls outside the established tolerance limits for a genuine valid coin is automatically rejected and immediately returned.

  • Patent number: 4096424
Abstract: Disclosed is a circuit for automatically controlling the feed rate of parts that is particularly adapted for controlling inductive loads. Disposed on either side of a passageway is a light source and a photo-sensing device which emits a signal pulse whenever a part interrupts the light beam between the light source and the photo-sensor. The pulses from the photo-sensing device are supplied to a monostable multivibrator which converts the pulses to uniform width, fixed amplitude pulses that are integrated and provided to a control circuit which controls the charge on a capacitor. When the charge on the capacitor exceeds a predetermined level an SCR is triggered, operating the motive means of the circuit.

  • Patent number: 4095177
Abstract: A transducer to monitor velocity and direction of movement having a magnetic core with at least three spaced apart poles. Two of the poles include coils which are wired series aiding for connection to an input alternating voltage, which upon current flow create a magnetic field intersecting the path of movement of an object being monitored. The third pole includes a coil in which an alternating output voltage is induced when the monitored object moves. The magnitude of such output voltage varies with the rate of speed of the monitored object. The phase relationship of output voltage to input voltage varies with the direction in which the monitored object moves. The coil in the third pole is connected to responsive means to receive the output signal and control, or indicate, the speed as well as the direction of movement of the monitored object.
