Abstract: An electric receptacle for ordinary household or trade size junction boxes having a complete ground fault circuit interrupter incorporated in the receptacle, including electronic components to detect a ground fault on the load side of such receptacle, and a coil and trip mechanism which is actuated when a ground fault is detected. On occurrence of a ground fault, the coil and trip mechanism opens the protected circuit. Means to test the interrupting mechanism, means to indicate the interrupter contacts are open, means to reset after testing or occurrence of a ground fault, and means to provide an audible signal if improperly wired, are included.

Abstract: A plant for the biological processing by means of activated sludge, by oxidation with pure oxygen or oxygen-enriched air, followed by a settling step, of a liquid suspension containing oxidizable matters, includes, in addition to the settling tank, a plurality of oxidation tanks disposed in series, communicating with each other, and adapted to be supplied with oxygen or oxygen-enriched air and the suspension to be treated, while recycling the decanted sludge, the suspension to be treated flowing in the direction of from the upstream tank to the downstream tank.

Abstract: Milk crumb for use in milk chocolate manufacture is prepared by forming a mixture containing milk, sugar and optionally cocoa, drying the mixture under reduced pressure to form a milk crumb product and compressing the crumb product under a pressure of at least 100 Kg/cm.sup.2 to crystallize amorphous sugar present in the crumb.

Abstract: A coated product providing for the controlled release of an active constituent, such as a fertilizer, over a long period of time comprising a core of an active constituent and two water insoluble coatings. The first coating surrounding the core contains masonry cement, and the second coating preferably contains a blend of one or more thermoplastic polymers and a wax. The coated product provides an unusually long lasting fertilizer at relatively low cost.

Abstract: A device for measuring the stress of tangential friction of a shoe on a surfacing for the ground comprises a guiding device, a carriage displaceable over the length of said guiding device, a shoe on said carriage and being subjected to a vertical load dynamometric pick-up means suitable for measuring the tangential friction of the shoe on the surfacing in the course of the displacement of said carriage, a driving assembly for moving the carriage in translation and recorder means connected to the dynamometric pick-up means to record the variation of tangential friction of the shoe on the surfacing.

Abstract: A positive fluid displacement scroll apparatus (compressor or expander) wherein the scroll members run with a small clearance between the wrap side flanks, thus essentially eliminating wearing of the wraps. When efficient radial sealing is attained, very little overall efficiency is sacrificed for the ability to construct low-cost scroll apparatus for a number of uses.

Abstract: A ball cage for a ball bearing of the angular contact type having a double row of balls with opposed angular contacts comprises a solid central portion which is bounded between two concentric cylindrical surfaces and between two parallel planes and has cells with part-spherical surfaces for receiving the balls in each axially directed side. Elastic lips having surfaces which form continuations of the part-spherical surfaces of the cells project from the central portion axially beyond the parallel planes and these lips permit the introduction of the balls into the cells in an axial direction and retain the balls in the cells elastically.

Abstract: Cells are fed in series with an alkaline solution containing zinc in suspension and electrically connected in series. The cells are grouped in modules fed in parallel with the solution and electrically connected in series, each module being fed with the solution through an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe. Electrolytic resistors are connected in the hydraulic circuit of each pipe to maintain a potential difference in the solution between the modules and a tank for storing the solution.

Abstract: This invention relates to a process of reformulating a solvent polyester-type resin, such as employed in electrical insulation, for example in wire enamels, to a solventless polyester-type wire resin of similar properties which is characterized by increasing the relative hydroxy-functionality of said polyester-type resin as compared to the hydroxy-functionality of a corresponding solvent-type wire resin.In the preferred embodiment the increased hydroxy-functionality, in whole or in part, is derived from the use of, or the increased content, of tris(2-hydroxyethyl) isocyanurate. The polyester-type wire enamels include polyesters and polyesters containing other groups such as polyester-amides, polyester-imides, polyester-amide-imides, etc. By doing this, resins having the desired properties as well as viscosities suitable for wire insulation can be made and applied in solventless systems.

Abstract: This invention relates to a therapeutic composition comprising, as active ingredient, a combination of 5-(2-chloro-benzyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-thieno[3,2-c]-pyridine and acetylsalicylic acid, the components of the combination being both present in the free state or as a pharmacologically acceptable salt. Said composition is useful both preventively and curatively for the treatment of thrombo-embolic diseases.

Abstract: A self-centering clutch release bearing, having means for enabling its axial sliding on a tube guide, enabling substantial radial movement of the clutch release bearing, and insuring axial pressure so that the clutch release bearing remains entered after radial movement. A ring slides directly on the tube guide, and a sleeve fits inside the bearing's inner race. The ring fits in the sleeve and radial end surfaces of the ring engage end surfaces of the sleeve. Either the sleeve or the ring has a groove whose axial ends engage radial walls of the other.

Abstract: A machine for winding up rolls of piles of a sheet material or of bags made of plastics, comprising at least a plane on which piles of sheets are successively collected, at least a frame supporting a revolving body on which a pliers unit is mounted adapted to grip each sheet pile and to cause its rotation under the control of a motor so as to form a sheet roll, said frame being slidably mounted on a transverse guiding means and being actuated by a cylinder-piston unit designed to adjust the position of the frame carrying the pliers with regard of the sheet pile; a device being further provided for causing the controlled starting and stopping of said revolving body in a preestablished position, said device comprising a lever pivotally mounted about a pin and actuated by a cylinder-piston unit so as to let the free end of said lever to be engaged into a notch provided on the peripheral surface of the revolving body.

Abstract: An apparatus for rejecting an improperly installed plug-on unit, including a circuit controlling device, in an electric power distribution and metering system having a box-like enclosure. A pair of supports are attached to opposing sides within the enclosure with top surfaces substantially parallel to the back of the enclosure so that the plug-on unit can be secured thereto. The circuit controlling device includes a circuit breaker with plug-on jaws, a receptacle and a neutral connector at one end of the plug-on unit which plugs into a jaw of a ground assembly on the back of the enclosure. A plurality of U-shaped interference brackets are welded across the width of the enclosure above the top surface of one support where the end of the plug-on unit containing the neutral connector must be mounted.
