Abstract: This disclosure relates to the field of cancer, particularly the field of melanoma. It was found that a particular long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is specifically up-regulated in melanoma (but not other tumor) cells as compared to melanocytes. Inhibition of this lncRNA in melanoma cells leads to induction of apoptosis and is a novel therapeutic strategy in the treatment of melanoma.

Abstract: A bracket assembly includes a first flange portion with a first flange aperture. A swivel portion has first and second leg portions, each with an aperture, extending outward from a second flange portion with an aperture. The first and second leg portions define a first opening that receives the first flange portion. The first flange aperture, the first leg aperture, and the second leg aperture align and the first fastener extends therethrough. The swivel portion pivots about the first fastener in a first direction. A connector has first and second prongs, each with an aperture, defining a second opening that receives the second flange portion. The first prong aperture, the second prong aperture, and the second flange aperture align and the second fastener extends therethrough. The connector pivots about the second fastener in a second direction opposite the first direction.
Abstract: A sheet material for roofing to be installed on a roof under an overlayment comprising a closed-weave woven having a top side and a back side; a thermoplastic layer affixed on the top side; and a water-based adhesive coating affixed on the back side. The sheet material is manufactured as a roll in which the thermoplastic layer isolates the water-based adhesive coating from an immediate environment when the sheet material is in a roll form.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing pillar or hole structures in a layer of semiconductor device, and associated semiconductor structure. At least one embodiment relates to a method for manufacturing pillar structures in a layer of a semiconductor device. The pillar structures are arranged at positions forming a hexagonal matrix configuration. The method includes embedding alignment pillar structures in a backfill brush polymer layer. The method also includes providing a BCP layer on a substantially planar surface defined by an upper surface of the alignment pillar structures and the backfill brush polymer layer. Further, the method includes inducing polymer microphase separation of the BCP polymer layer into pillar structures of a first component of the BCP polymer layer embedded in a second component of the BCP polymer layer.

Abstract: [Problem] To improve the operability of a sound level operation performed with respect to a plurality of audio devices. [Solution] A control screen 25 is displayed, said control screen 25 comprising: channel faders 26-1 to 26-4 which individually accept sound volume level operations for wireless network compliant speakers 1-1 to 1-4; and a master fader 27 which accepts a sound volume level operation collectively for the wireless network compliant speakers 1-1 to 1-4. In the master fader 27, a minimum value end portion 271 is displayed in a position indicating a scale value that is the same as the minimum value from among the scale values indicated by each of the channel faders 26-1 to 26-4, and a maximum value end portion 272 is displayed in a position indicating the scale value that is the same as the maximum value from among said scale values. The master fader 27 thus has a width W corresponding to the minimum value and the maximum value of said scale values.

Abstract: [Problem]To provide an audio device with which it is possible to efficiently utilize the storage capacity of a storage device for storing audio data. [Solution] In this audio device 1, in accordance with user profile information stored in a profile information storage unit 102, audio data inputted to an audio data input unit 103 is subjected by a filter unit 104 to a process of cutting a frequency band higher than the highest frequency audible to the user) and/or a frequency band lower than the lowest frequency audible to the user, and the data is then encoded by a codec unit 105, and stored to an audio storage device 100. Audio data can thereby be stored in the audio storage device 100 in compressed form with no noticeable decline in sound quality to the user, making it possible to store more audio data, such as music, in the audio storage device 100.

Abstract: A ferroelectric device and a manufacturing method are provided. While holding a nonvolatile memory retention capability and a multiple rewriting endurance as the distinctive features of a ferroelectric device, the disclosed ferroelectric device is wider in memory window and more adaptively made microfiner than a conventional ferroelectric device that has used a ferroelectric mainly constituted of Sr—Bi—Ta—O as an oxide of strontium, bismuth and tantalum. Directly on or with intermediary of an insulator on a semiconductor there are layered a first ferroelectric and a conductor to form a gate stack, the first ferroelectric being mainly constituted of Sr—Ca—Bi—Ta—O as an oxide of strontium, calcium, bismuth and tantalum and being built up by a metal organic vapor deposition technique from a suitable film-forming raw material. The gate stack is heat-treated to cause the first ferroelectric to develop its ferroelectricity.
