  • Patent number: 9683013
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of separating one or more immunoglobulin containing proteins from a liquid. The method includes first contacting the liquid with a separation matrix comprising ligands immobilized to a support; allowing the immunoglobulin containing proteins to adsorb to the matrix by interaction with the ligands; followed by an optional step of washing the matrix containing the immunoglobulin containing proteins adsorbed thereon; and recovering said immunoglobulin containing proteins by contacting the matrix with an eluent which releases the proteins. The method improves upon previous separation methods in that each of the ligands comprises one or more of a protein A domain (E, D, A, B, C), or protein Z, or a functional variant thereof, with at least one of the monomers having a substitution of the Asparagine at the position corresponding to N28 of B domain of Protein A or Protein Z, and wherein the ligand provides an increase in elution pH compared to non-substituted ligand.

  • Publication number: 20170170017
Abstract: A method for patterning a substrate is disclosed. The method includes applying a first directed self-assembly (DSA) patterning process that defines a first patterned layer on top of the substrate. The pattern of the first patterned layer is to be transferred into the substrate. The method also includes applying a planarizing layer on top of the first patterned layer. The method further includes applying a second DSA patterning process that defines a second patterned layer on top of the planarizing layer, thereby not patterning the planarizing layer. A pattern of the second patterned layer is to be transferred into the substrate. Projections of the pattern of the second patterned layer and the pattern of the first patterned layer on the substrate have no overlap. Additionally, the method includes transferring the patterns defined by the first patterned layer and the second patterned layer into the substrate.

  • Patent number: 9680409
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a roof mounting system that utilizes a base plate that is affixed to a roof surface by multiple fasteners (e.g., lag bolts, screws etc.) and a cap (e.g., top cap) that attaches to the base plate covering the fasteners affixing the base plate to the roof surface. Once attached, the top cap covers the fasteners preventing water infiltration. To further waterproof the fasteners affixing the base plate to the roof surface, the base plate includes a raised or elevated section on its top surface with a planar flange extending around the elevated section. A portion of the flange may be disposed beneath a single or shingles on a roof surface. The fasteners extend through the elevated section. Accordingly, water drains around the elevated section when the base plate is attached to a roof surface further isolating the fasteners.
