Abstract: Systems and methods for determining an action plan with respect to a returned device are disclosed. In some implementations, a computer receives an identifier of a returned device being processed by a replacement center. The computer provides the identifier of the returned device to a data repository. The computer receives, from the data repository, in response to the identifier of the returned device, data related to the returned device. The computer calculates a device retirement metric based on the data related to the returned device received from the data repository. The computer determines, based on the device retirement metric, an action plan to take with respect to the returned device. The computer provides an indication of the action plan with respect to the returned device.
Abstract: There is provided a system to provide a sequence of motion samples to a plurality of motion platforms, such as the plurality of seats in a movie theatre, such that the motion is synchronized with a sequence of images, such as a movie. In order to reduce the cost of the system, synchronization of a motion data signal with the sequence of images is centralized at a unique synchronizing unit. The synchronized sequence of motion samples is distributed to a plurality of motion platform hubs, each controlling and managing a reduced number of motion platforms.
Abstract: The present invention is to provide an IP camera having repeater functions, which includes an image-capturing module for capturing images, an image processor for processing the images, a central processor including a network communication module for activating the repeater functions and mediating communication between a root wireless access point (WAP) and an external device, and an antenna electrically connected to the network communication module in order for the IP camera to make wireless connection to the root WAP, upload the images to the Internet and serve as a repeater between the two WAPs, and a memory configured for storing operating software, a plurality of service set identifiers (IDs) and an authentication key. Due to the repeater functions of the IP camera, the external device can identify the IP camera by the IDs and then connect to the Internet, even if the external device is outside coverage of a wireless LAN.
Abstract: The object of the invention is the use in a cosmetic composition of an effective amount of at least one cutaneous cell autophagy activator as a cosmetic active ingredient. The invention also relates to cosmetic compositions that include at least one cutaneous cell autophagy activator as a cosmetic active ingredient 5 and a cosmetic process for detoxifying skin and/or for preventing or combating cutaneous aging.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device 1 for attaching a windscreen-wiper blade 100 to an arm 200, comprising a connector 10 intended to be attached to the blade 100, as well as an adaptor 40 intended to be coupled, on the one hand, with the arm 200 and, on the other hand, with the connector 10 in a mobile manner, the adaptor 40 comprising at least one locking element 41, 42 capable of elastically deforming between an active position and a passive position. The invention is noteworthy in that the connector 10 comprises means for holding each locking element 41, 42 in the active position when the adaptor 40 is in the operating position, and in that for each locking element 41, 42, the connector 10 comprises an undercut enabling the elastic deformation of said locking element 41, 42 when the adaptor 40 is in the assembly position.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a network system, which comprises a coordinator server located in a public network; first and second NATs (Network Address Translators) located in first and second private networks and configured as a full-cone NAT, respectively; first and second network devices located in the first and second private networks and connected to the public network through the first and second NATs, respectively, wherein each of the first and second network devices has registered two mapped addresses with the coordinator server, respectively; a third NAT located in a third private network; and a third network device located in the third private network and connected to the public network through the third NAT, wherein the third network device can obtain the mapped addresses from the coordinator server and, based on the mapped addresses, conduct NAT behavior tests on the third NAT through the first and second network devices.
Abstract: A pitched cable having a flexible core around which a coil is wrapped. The flexible core includes an end area which protrudes beyond the coil and passes through a hole of a carrier. The carrier bears at one end of the hole against an end of the coil, and at an other end of the hole against a stop body fastened to an end of the core. An end region of the coil is provided with a metal casting that encloses the coil and the core. Mutually abutting surfaces of the metal casting and of the carrier can be formed with a positive-locking engagement, which prevents relative twisting between the metal casting and the carrier about the core. The metal casting can be formed as a zinc die casting.

Abstract: A device receives a pilot channel from an access network, without connecting to the access network. The pilot channel includes information identifying an actual usage associated with the access network. The device determines whether the actual usage of the access network is greater than a particular usage associated with the access network, and selectively connects to the access network based on whether the actual usage of the access network is greater than the particular usage. The device connects to the access network, to provide data to a core network, when the actual usage of the access network is not greater than the particular usage. The device does not connect to the access network when the actual usage of the access network is greater than the particular usage.

Abstract: A user device receives, from a device associated with a vendor, a request for user preferences associated with a user of the user device. The user preferences are stored in a memory associated with the user device. The user device authenticates the vendor, and determines particular user preferences, from the user preferences, that are relevant to the vendor. The device approves the request for the user preferences when the vendor is authenticated. The device retrieves the particular user preferences from the memory based on the approval of the request for the user preferences, and provides the particular user preferences to the device. The particular user preferences are used to determine products, services, or content, of the vendor, to offer to the user.

Abstract: Devices and methods are provided for implementing a network resource management system that reduces network signaling traffic through a network. A network server utilizing a communication signaling protocol is configured with functionality that reduces call set-up signaling traffic. Instead of exchanging communication signaling protocol related signaling between a calling end user device and a destination end user device when attempting to set up the call, the disclosed examples provide for determining a call status of the destination end user device before sending any communication signaling protocol related messages to the destination end user device. If the destination end user device is unavailable or is on another call, the network server uses communication signaling protocol related messages to connect the calling end user device with a voice mail server related to the destination end user device and foregoes sending communication signaling protocol related messages to the destination end user device.
Abstract: An image alignment guide for producing images for producing a knee brace has an arm carrying a focal angle tube, a mechanism for positioning the arm against the lateral side of the leg of a patient, and a mechanism for setting the level of the brace. The guide is used in method of preparing such images involving taking images with the image alignment guide against the lateral side of a patient's leg at an anterior-posterior mid-line thereof with the focal angle tube at the side of the knee and at a distance therefrom, respectively, measuring the length of the patient's leg from the patella center to a position on the leg at which a shell of a brace to be produced is to be located, measuring the crest of the tibia using a tibial contour guide and sending all images, readings and measurements obtained to a knee brace manufacturer.
