Abstract: An antenna for radiating an electromagnetic field having both linear and circular polarization includes a ground plane and a dielectric layer. The dielectric layer is disposed on the ground plane and has at least one exposed surface that radiates the electromagnetic field. A first feeding element is disposed on the exposed surface for electrically exciting the dielectric layer to provide the linear polarization at a first frequency having a first effective wavelength. A second feeding element is disposed on the exposed surface for electrically exciting the dielectric layer to provide the circular polarization at a second frequency having a second effective wavelength. The feeding elements are separated by a distance greater than ? wavelength of the largest of the effective wavelengths.
Abstract: An electrical filter includes a circuit board with an insulative substrate of alternating wide and narrow portions between input and output ends. Capacitors received in through-holes in the wide portions are electrically coupled to signal traces on a signal surface and ground traces on a ground surface of the circuit board. Conductive coils about narrow portions may form inductors, electrically coupled between the signal traces and an input and/or output. The circuit board, capacitors and inductors may be positioned in a first enclosure, (e.g., tube), with sealed electrical connections to an exterior. The first enclosure may be positioned in a second enclosure (e.g., tube). The filter may also include a high frequency dissipation filter section employing a metal powder filter, with metal powder and epoxy. Non-magnetic and/or superconducting materials may be employed.
Abstract: Provided is a method for transmitting 1x paging information through an HRPD network and responding to the 1x paging information by a dual-mode MS/AT. After the MS/AT turns to an HRPD network and informs an MSC of related information, if some 1x paging information arrives, the MSC sends a message indicating 1x service arrival to the PCF. An HRPD AN bears the 1x service arrival message that carries calling information sent from the PCF in the 1x service packet to send to the MS/AT. If the user, receiving the 1x service arrival message, chooses to accept a 1x call, the MS/AT terminates the service in the HRPD network and turns to the 1x network to send a “paging response” message to a 1x BS.

Abstract: The driving pulley has a fully clutched mode of operation where a drivebelt and a driveshaft are coupled together in a torque transmitting engagement and also has an unclutched mode of operation where there is substantially no torque transmitting engagement between the drive belt and the driveshaft. The driving pulley comprises at least one transitional clutch spring that is in a first position when the driving pulley is in the unclutched mode of operation and that is in a second position when the driving pulley is in the fully clutched mode of operation. The at least one transitional clutch spring remains substantially in its second position regardless of the relative axial distance between the sheaves when the driving pulley is in the fully clutched mode of operation. A method of operating a driving pulley is also disclosed. The proposed concept provides a smoother engagement during the transition from the unclutched mode to the fully clutched mode.
