  • Patent number: 7946281
Abstract: A compound bow includes a first and second pulley, each of which is operative, when the bow is drawn, to unwind a portion of a bow string from a bow string groove and to take up a portion of a bow cable so as to decrease its effective length. At least one of the pulleys includes a cable controller which operates to modify the rate at which the effective length of the bow cable is decreasing so that during an initial portion of the draw of the bow, the rate is greater than it would be in the absence of the controller, and during a second portion of the draw, the rate is less than it would be in the absence of the controller. Use of the controller provides a bow which has an inherently balanced draw.

  • Patent number: 7948193
Abstract: An inexpensive, productivity-enhanced single-phase AC synchronous motor in which stabilized synchronous pull-in can be carried out by suppressing generation of counter torque during a starting operation. Starting operation is performed while the energizing range of motor current is suppressed such that the energizing direction of motor current waveform lagging in a phase behind the output waveform from a detection sensor (17) is switched at at least the zero cross point of the output waveform from the sensor when the number of revolutions of a permanent magnet rotor (1) reaches a predetermined number of revolutions in the vicinity of the synchronous number of revolutions.

  • Publication number: 20110116197
Abstract: A current sensor assembly used for detecting ground faults, which includes an enclosure surrounding the current sensor for focusing the magnetic flux produced by conductors passing through the current sensor assembly away from the conductors, thereby reducing load-shift error and producing more accurate current readings for ground-fault sensing. The enclosure has two half members that are secured together to form a toroid-shaped shell that surrounds a toroidal core of the current sensor. A secondary winding and an optional test winding is wound around the toroidal core, and the ends of these windings exit one or more apertures formed in the enclosure. The half members have rounded profiles where the flat surfaces transition into different planes so that the magnetic flux does not encounter any sharp edges or transitions inside the enclosure as the flux flows away from the conductors.

The cover has at least two apertures through which the nodes protrude, and a flap extending over at least two of the massage nodes. The flap has a fastener to allow for removal of the flap from the cover. A percussive massager is also provided with a motor housing, a motor with a rotary output shaft, an elongated flexible rocker arm pivotally connected to the motor housing, and a massage node connected to an end region of the rocker arm. • Publication number: 20110116074
Abstract: A process for measuring speed or vibration characteristics using a LIDAR device allows the separation of a useful contribution and an interfering contribution in a backscattered signal. To this purpose, a phase characteristic of an optical wave emitted in the direction of a target volume is modulated. The interfering contribution, which originates from a source at a distance from the target volume, appears with variable shifts of said phase characteristic in a heterodyne detection signal. An accumulation then isolates the useful contribution, from which a result is obtained for the speed or vibration measurement. The process can be implemented with a frequency modulation or phase modulation of the optical wave.

  • Publication number: 20110113580
Abstract: The invention relates to a windscreen wiper system, particularly for a motor vehicle. The system comprises a wiper blade (4) hinged to a drive arm (1) via an adaptor (2) connected to the arm (1) and to a hydraulic connector (3), which in turn is connected to the blade (4) and comprises at least one inlet coupling (6) designed to be coupled to a cleaning and de-icing fluid feed (5). The system also comprises a rigid joining part (7, 8), one end of which is coupled to the inlet coupling (6), and the other end of which is intended to be coupled to the fluid feed (5). In this way, the connection between the fluid feed (5) and the connector is made secure and reliable. In addition, the joining part provides an offset which makes connecting and disconnecting easier for the user, particularly when the user wishes to change a worn blade, and enables the whole of the connection to be concealed more easily and then given a more attractive appearance.

  • Publication number: 20110116151
Abstract: A photochromic structure includes a plastic support of optical grade with good light transparency, having at least one face with an adhesive layer impregnated with a solution of a solvent with photochromes, having a flexible host matrix for the photochromes, which is mounted by adhesion onto another support. A structure with a uniform flexible photochromic matrix, which has rapid transition times, notably a rapid relaxation time, is thus obtained. The structure is mountable, and advantageously repositionable. It is produced via a process using roll-milling combined with a system for dispensing the solvated solution of photochromes upstream of the rolls, via which a support strip of an adhesive is entrained by the rolls, and the adhesive is gradually impregnated and then laminated on another support.
