Abstract: A pump drive for a vehicle transmission pump. A transmission input torque member is operable to carry prime mover torque. A source of pump torque includes a pump input torque member circumscribing the transmission input torque member to apply torque to the transmission pump. An overrunning clutch is interposed between the pump input torque member and the transmission input torque member to carry the prime mover torque from the transmission input torque member to the pump torque output member.

Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle battery, comprising a housing, a cell assembly arranged in the housing made up of battery cells, and a plate arranged in the electrical connector region of the cells for electrical connection of the cells. The battery also has support elements arranged inside the housing which, in the case of a deformation of the housing toward the plate by a deformation force acting on the housing, support the loading forces acting on the plate due to the deformation of the housing.
Abstract: A device is provided for guiding a movement of a bar-type wind deflector in relation to a roof frame in a region between a position of use and a position of non-use, especially on a cabriolet. At least one pair of rotary levers is provided on the wind deflector. The rotary levers are mounted on the wind deflector at a first rotary lever end such that they can rotate about a first rotational axis, and on the roof frame at a second rotary lever end such that they can rotate about a second rotational axis, the rotational axes being parallel to each other. The rotary levers of each pair are staggered in relation to each other at least in the direction of a normal of one of the rotational axes. The rotational axes of each pair form the vertexes of a parallelogram.
Abstract: The object of the invention is to improve the sealing properties of a seal arrangement in a fuel cell device for sealing against leaks a mechanical joint between two components of the fuel cell device. The invention proposes a seal arrangement in a fuel cell device for sealing against leakage a mechanical joint between two components I1, 1? of the fuel cell device, which components convey a liquid and/or a gaseous process medium 3 in a media chamber 2, the seal arrangement having a scaling member 9, 12 which is constructed to extend around the media chamber 2 and which is in active connection with the components 1?, 1?. The object is achieved in that a second, surrounding sealing member 10, 13 is provided, which is arranged facing away from the media relative to the first sealing member 9, 12 and is of a different material from the first sealing member 9, 12 and/or has a different geometry.

Abstract: The invention relates to bipolar plates for fuel cell systems. According to the invention, the component sheets of a bipolar plate (1) are formed for a welded joint (4, 5), such that between the profile regions (6) of the channel ducts (2), only small local surfaces remain as welding zones (10). The above is achieved by means of a corresponding shape of the profile molding (8, 9) of the component sheets. As a result of said reduction of the welding zones to small regions of the total surface, a larger proportion of the area is available for the channels (2), in other words, the channel cross-section and hence the coolant flow can be increased. At the same time the structure for the use of gas diffusion layers made from non-wovens, textiles or paper can be optimized.

Abstract: Method of detecting an unauthorized exchange of components in the case of a technical system, where the control unit (1) sends an encoded message (3) to a component (2) to be checked, in a data field of the message (3) a randomly generated or not easily reproducible value (5, 6) being entered, which is used for checking the installed component (2). The component (2) accesses an assignment field (8) and, as a result, assigns an identification (9) to each not easily reproducible or random value (5, 6) transmitted together with the message (3), and the component (2) transmits the identification corresponding to the value (5, 6) back to the control unit (1). The control unit (1) decides on the basis of the identification (9) whether the component (2) is that the component (2) which is authorized for use in the particular technical system.
Abstract: A method of controlling a state of charge of a battery in a vehicle includes receiving a request to enter an enhanced charging mode. A target for the state of charge is increased from a normal operating target to at least one enhanced mode target. The state of charge may be controlled to the at least one enhanced mode target during a drive charging cycle and during a park charging cycle.

Abstract: A method of operating a fuel cell system with at least one fuel cell unit comprising a plurality of fuel cells, each having one anode and one cathode, the anode adjoining an anode gas compartment and the cathode adjoining a cathode gas compartment, hydrogen being supplied to the anode and an oxidizing agent being supplied to the cathode. Hydrogen is supplied to the anode compartment during a retention time before start-up of the fuel cell system, in which no fuel cell reaction takes place in the fuel cell unit. Hydrogen is stored in an adsorption storage element during fuel cell operation and released to the anode compartment during the retention time.

Abstract: In a method and apparatus for producing a composite component comprising a hollow profile and at least one injection-molded element, a hollow profile (3) is formed by means of internal high pressure fluid forming and is encapsulated with an injection molding material to form the injection-molded element. The hollow profile is expanded by means of internal high pressure in a closed combination tool comprising an internal high pressure forming tool element and an injection molding tool element, before it is encapsulated. The hollow profile is pressed on the tool engraving only locally in the region of the location to be encapsulated, keeping the outlet of the injection molding channel opening into the tool engraving clear.
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle, in particular a utility vehicle, with a driver's cab (2) which has a driver's cab floor (4). In order to improve occupant protection, the driver's cab floor (4) has, in the front region (3) of the motor vehicle, at least one receiving space (14) for at least one crash element (16).
Abstract: In a transmission for a motor vehicle of a reduction gearing design with power branching including a main shaft and a counter shaft, a first component transmission and a planetary gear unit, power is branched to the countershaft by the first component transmission in certain gears and recombined via the planetary gear unit and a direct power transmission path is provided wherein the countershaft is decoupled selectively by means of a control device.
Abstract: An exhaust gas purification system for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle is provided. The system includes a first particulate filter element and a second particulate filter element, which is connected downstream of the first particulate filter element and through which flows the exhaust gas that emanates from the first particulate filter element. The first particulate filter element operates as a system filter and the second particulate filter element operates as a diagnostic filter. A charge of the diagnostic filter can be determined, and the functional capability of the system filter can be deduced based thereon.
Abstract: In order to safeguard a hazardous area, in particular the hazardous area of an automatically operating machine, images of the hazardous area are recorded with at least a first and a second image recording unit that are arranged offset from one another. The images of the scene are subjected to three-dimensional scene analyses using different three-dimensional scene analysis methods, and the hazardous area is safeguarded when at least one of the scene analysis methods detects a foreign object.
