  • Publication number: 20100131166
Abstract: A method for adjusting a braking pressure for at least one disk brake includes setting a target frictional torque of the disk brake, determining a temperature of at least a part of the disk brake, determining a nominal target braking pressure from a known relation between the nominal braking pressure and the nominal frictional torque, and determining a correction factor from a known characteristic line describing a deviation of a friction coefficient between a brake disk and at least one brake pad as a function of the temperature. The braking pressure is adjusted by applying the correction factor to the nominal target braking pressure.

  • Patent number: 7722802
Abstract: The invention relates a powder material consisting of coated particles for a powder-based rapid generative prototyping methods, in particular by compressing a 3D binder. Said powder material consists of individual plastic, metal and/or ceramic particles and/or granules. A coating essentially consists of an adhesive agent which can be activated by a liquid binder, light or laser light, and of sinterable or glass-forming fine-grained material. Said invention also relates to a method for compressing 3D binder with the aid of an organic solvent having a water content less than 45% and to sintered bodies, in particular for moulding or precision mechanical engineering, which are fixed to each other by sintering or glass formation from a fine grained material.

  • Patent number: 7722978
Abstract: A membrane electrode assembly with an improved integrated seal comprises an edge seal having an inboard pad attached to the edge of the electrodes, a flexible coupling adjacent the pad, and a sealing element adjacent the coupling. The sealing element is significantly thicker than the pad, and the flexible coupling isolates the pad from stress experienced in the sealing element. Thus, greater compression can be applied to the sealing element, thereby providing an improved and more reliable seal, without overly compressing and damaging the attached pad.

  • Patent number: 7708626
Abstract: An air supply device for an automotive seat includes an air duct which is arranged at the delivery side of a fan and has at least one air outlet opening provided in the upper region of the seat for supplying the head, shoulder and neck region of a seat occupant with a flow of air. A heating element is arranged in the air duct between the fan and the air outlet opening, and the air supply device has at least one sensor for detecting a parameter value as a function of which the flow of air emerging from the air outlet opening is controlled. In order to provide the air supply device with a flow of air which can be controlled in a more universal manner, the sensor is arranged inside the air duct between the air outlet opening and the heating element.

  • Publication number: 20100102617
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for restraining passengers in a retaining passengers in a vehicle upon impact with an obstacle, a possible accident is initially sensed. Thereafter, at the latest, whenever the vehicle first contacts the obstacle, or whenever vehicle deceleration exceeds a threshold, a force acting in the direction of impact is exerted upon the passenger via a seat belt system. The force is introduced by bilateral tensioning of a lap belt of a seat belt system, from both sides at a force of at least 2000-4500 N. The latter is maintained for a retaining phase of at least 20 ms along a displacement path of the passenger.

  • Publication number: 20100104936
Abstract: A battery has a heat conducting plate for temperature control, and a plurality of parallel and/or serially connected single cells which are thermally coupled to the heat conducting plate. A channel structure is arranged in the heat conducting plate for guiding a flow of a heat conducting medium therein, and connection cross sections for the channel structure extend from the heat conducting plate. In the region of the poles of the single cells the heat conducting plate has bores through which the poles of the single cells extend. An insert piece which is made from an electrically insulating material and is arranged around the pole of a single cell, at least partially abuts the outer surface of the pole, and has at least one spacer extending radially from the pole. • Publication number: 20100101020
Abstract: A folding bunk with ladder is to save space and be easy to use in a motor vehicle. The design layout therefore constitutes a folding bunk with a support frame for placement of a mattress, a folding axis that is arranged on a first side of the support frame for pivoting the folding bunk, and a ladder mounted on the second side of the support frame opposite the first side. The ladder is mounted on the support frame in such a way that it can only pivot on a pivot axis parallel to the folding axis and has no other degrees of freedom. In this way, the ladder can be moved into the useable position in one single operation. If required, the ladder can be combined with a safety element to protect the person lying on the folding bunk.
