  • Patent number: 6949401
Abstract: A method for producing a semiconductor component with adjacent Schottky (5) and pn (9) junctions positions in a drift area (2, 10) of a semiconductor material. According to the method, a silicon carbide substrate doped with a first doping material of at least 1018 cm?3 is provided, and a silicon carbide layer with a second doping material of the same charge carrier type in the range of 1014 and 1017 cm?3 is homo-epitaxially deposited on the substrate. A third doping material with a complimentary charge carrier is inserted, and structured with the aid of a diffusion and/or ion implantation, on the silicon carbide layer surface that is arranged far from the substrate to form pn junctions. Subsequently the component is subjected to a first temperature treatment between 1400° C. and 1700° C. Following this temperature treatment, a first metal coating is deposited on the implanted surface in order to form a Schottky contact and then a second metal coating is deposited in order to form an ohmic contact.

  • Publication number: 20050141565
Abstract: The invention refers to one of a number of nodes of a communication system. The nodes are connected to a communication media for transmitting data among the nodes. Said one node comprises a communication controller, across which the node is connected to the communication media, and a bus guardian for controlling access of the communication controller to the communication media. In order to provide a cheap but nevertheless reliable way for monitoring the synchronized clock signal of a node of a communication system and in particular for detecting deviations of the synchronized clock signal it is suggested that a synchronized clock signal from the communication controller is made available to the bus guardian, and that the bus guardian comprises means for monitoring the synchronized clock signal using a bus guardian internal clock signal, which is generated by means of an electronic circuit and which is less accurate than the synchronized clock signal to be monitored.

  • Patent number: 6899488
Abstract: A fastening system has a mounting plate of substantially greater area than a flange of a part being attached to a hardened plate. This mounting plate is sandwiched between the flange and an outer face of the hardened plate and has an outer periphery spaced well outward of the flange. A plurality of nuts bear on an inner face of the hardened plate in line with the flange. Respective bolts extend through the flange, mounting plate, and hardened plate into the nuts and press the flange and mounting plate against the outer face of the hardened plate. A weld at the outer periphery secures the mounting plate to the hardened plate.

  • Publication number: 20050114005
Abstract: In a module for detecting the docking of a vehicle, changes of vehicle engine torque and rotational wheel speed of the vehicle are determined as a function of time. It is checked whether the change of the engine torque is >>0 and the change of the rotational wheel speed is <<0. If both of these conditions are met, docking is detected and the vehicle can be braked. The module may be implemented in the form of software.

  • Patent number: 6808139
Abstract: A guidance method for guidance systems is disclosed. The method includes forming a target track point with a target tracker. The method corrects the track point with a manual correction signal. A speed of rotation of the line of sight is determined with the target tracker. A track control system dynamic model is provided for forming an estimated value for the rotation speed of the line of sight. The estimated value for the rotation speed of the line of sight is formed from the determined speed of rotation of a line of sight corrected with a correction value generated with the dynamic model of the track control circuit based on the manual correction signal. The estimated value of the speed of rotation of the line of sight is then used for guidance.

  • Publication number: 20040107922
Abstract: A dual temperature control system as part of an engine cooling system. In one aspect, a valve is regulated as a function of engine load and disposed in a by-pass line between the radiator and the coolant pump. The valve is designed to normally block the by-pass line, but permits coolant to by-pass the thermostat and be conveyed from the radiator to the engine when the load of the engine approaches a wide-open-throttle condition. In another aspect, both high-temperature and low-temperature thermostats are employed and a normally closed valve is actuated when the load of the engine approaches a wide-open-throttle condition to permit coolant to be conveyed through the low-temperature thermostat and on to the engine.

  • Publication number: 20040103673
Abstract: A method for detecting a low-charge state in an air conditioning system. In one aspect, the temperature/pressure of the discharge of the condenser is measured to determine whether a low-charge state exists in the refrigeration system by calculating the degrees of subcooling of the refrigerant and comparing that to a predetermined minimum value. In another aspect, the temperature/pressure of the discharge of the compressor is measured to determine whether a low-charge state is indicated by calculating the degrees of superheat of the refrigerant and comparing that value with a predetermined maximum value. An air conditioning checker is also disclosed.
