  • Patent number: 8461836
Abstract: A device for ex situ magnetic resonance analysis is disclosed. The device comprises a static magnetic field unit (12) for generating a generally cylindrically symmetric static magnetic field outside the static magnetic field unit, and a radiofrequency unit (14) for generating a generally cylindrically symmetric radiofrequency field outside the radiofrequency unit. The radiofrequency field is perpendicular to the static magnetic field. A spatial inhomogeneity of the magnetic field substantially matches a spatial inhomogeneity of the radiofrequency field.

  • Publication number: 20130145332
Abstract: A method of resistor matching in analog integrated circuit layout is disclosed. Shapes of mismatching resistor blocks are analyzed to obtain geometrical information for deforming the mismatching resistor blocks. The mismatching resistor blocks are deformed into centrosymmetrical blocks according to the obtained geometrical information, each mismatching resistor block being decomposed to a plurality of unit-resistors. The unit-resistors are placed into matching resistor blocks to return a resulting layout with improved matching quality by reducing centroid offset between a centroid of the unit-resistors and a centroid of the matching resistor block.

  • Patent number: 8457410
Abstract: An optical flow estimation process based on a spatio-temporal model with varying coefficients multiplying a set of basis functions at each pixel. The benefit of over-parameterization becomes evident in the smoothness term, which instead of directly penalizing for changes in the optic flow, accumulates a cost of deviating from the assumed optic flow model. The optical flow field is represented by a general space-time model comprising a selected set of basis functions. The optical flow parameters are computed at each pixel in terms of coefficients of the basis functions. The model is thus highly over-parameterized, and regularization is applied at the level of the coefficients, rather than the model itself. As a result, the actual optical flow in the group of images is represented more accurately than in methods that are known in the art.

  • Patent number: 8445425
Abstract: A search of the public human genome database identified a human EST, GenBank accession number AW293249, which has high homology to known pufferfish urocortin sequences. The full length sequence was amplified from human genomic DNA and sequenced. Sequence homology comparisons of the novel sequence with human urocortin I and urocortin II revealed that the sequence encoded a novel human urocortin, which was designated urocortin III (UcnIII). While urocortin III does not have high affinity for either CRF-R1 or CRF-R2, the affinity for CRF-R2 is greater than the affinity for CRF-R1. Urocortin III is capable stimulating cyclic AMP production in cells expressing CRF-R2? or ?. Thus, the affinity is high enough that urocortin III could act as a native agonist of CRF-R2. However, it is also likely that urocortin III is a stronger agonist of a yet to be identified receptor.
