Abstract: A method for creating a metabolic map of metabolic reactions by selecting metabolic reactions active in cancer cells. A core set of metabolic reactions occurring in the cancer cells is designated. For each permutation, whether inhibition of the k-th non-core reaction together with inhibition of all previously deleted non-core reactions results in inhibition of any of the core reactions or results in inhibition of the flux of biomass metabolites to biomass is determined. If inhibition of the k-th non-core reaction and inhibition of all previously deleted non-core reactions does not result in inhibition of any core reactions and does not result in inhibition of the flux of biomass metabolites to biomass, then the k-th non-core reaction is deleted from the set of non-core reactions. The number of permutations for which the k-th non-core reaction is not deleted is determined and a metabolic map is then created based on that number.

  • Publication number: 20120274489
Abstract: A successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is disclosed. A first and second capacitor DACs receive a first and second input signals respectively. A first coarse comparator compares an output of the first capacitor DAC with a window reference voltage, a second coarse comparator compares an output of the second capacitor DAC with the window reference voltage, and a fine comparator compares the output of the first capacitor DAC with the output of the second capacitor DAC. A SAR controller receives outputs of the first and second coarse comparators to determine whether the outputs of the first and second capacitor DACs are within a predictive window determined by the window reference voltage. The SAR controller bypasses at least one phase of analog-to-digital conversion of the SAR ADC when the outputs of the first capacitor DAC and the second capacitor DAC are determined to be within the predictive window.

Abstract: A method and system for determining the subjective state of mind of a human subject presented with a test audible or visual stimulus. An an electroencephalogram (EEG) recording unit is connected to the human subject, recording the subject's EEG when presented with one or more test stimuli. The recorded EEG signal is then transformed to a 3-D map in order to visualize the brain areas that were active when presenting the test stimuli. The given 3-D map of the test stimuli is then compared with reference 3-D maps of neutral and subjectively significant stimuli.
