  • Patent number: 11540511
Abstract: A protector assembly for handling, storing and transporting donor tissue in a transfer pipette includes a distal cap and a proximal plug that are respectively engageable with opposite ends of the pipette. Structurally, the pipette includes a distally tapered fluid chamber which is in fluid communication with an extension tube. The distal cap is dimensioned for friction engagement with the fluid chamber of the pipette and it is formed with a plurality of vents to establish fluid communication through the vents with the fluid chamber. On the other hand, the proximal plug is dimensioned for a friction engagement with the extension tube to prevent leakage of solution from the fluid chamber of the pipette when the proximal plug is engaged with the pipette. In combination, an engagement of the protector assembly with a pipette holding a donor tissue will protect and preserve the donor tissue during handling and transport.

  • Patent number: 11489566
Abstract: A communication system utilizing reconfigurable antenna systems is described where beam steering and null forming techniques are incorporated to limit the region or volume available for communication with client devices. The communication system described restricts communication to defined or desired area and degrades signal strength coverage outside of a prescribed region. An algorithm is used to control the antenna system to monitor and control antenna system performance across the service area. This antenna system technique is applicable for use in communication systems such as a Local Area Network (LAN), cellular communication network, and Machine to Machine (M2M).

  • Patent number: 11462830
Abstract: A technique is described where the switch and/or tunable control circuit for use with an active multi-mode antenna is positioned remote from the antenna structure itself for integration into host communication systems. Electrical delay and impedance characteristics are compensated for in the design and configuration of transmission lines or parasitic elements as the active multi-mode antenna structure is positioned in optimal locations such that significant electrical delay is introduced between the RF front-end circuit and multi-mode antenna. This technique can be implemented in designs where it is convenient to locate switches in a front-end module (FEM) and the FEM is located in vicinity to the transceiver.

  • Patent number: 11447519
Abstract: Herein reported are new tricyclic cytidine compounds, such as 8-diethylamino-tC (8-DEA-tC), that respond to DNA and/or RNA duplex formation with up to a 20-fold increase in fluorescent quantum yield as compared with the free nucleoside, depending on neighboring bases. This turn-on response to duplex formation is by far the greatest of any reported nucleoside analogue that can participate in Watson-Crick base pairing. Measurements of the quantum yield of 8-DEA-tC mispaired with adenosine and, separately, opposite an abasic site show that there is almost no fluorescence increase without the formation of correct Watson-Crick hydrogen bonds. Kinetic isotope effects from the use of deuterated buffer show that the duplex protects 8-DEA-tC against quenching by excited state proton transfer. DFT calculations provide a rationale for the observed photophysical properties that is dependent on duplex integrity and the electronic structure of the analogue.

  • Patent number: 11438036
Abstract: A communication system for point to multipoint communications by grouping client devices based on associated modes is provided. In one example implementation, point to multipoint communication improvements are achieved by grouping a plurality of client devices by their optimal modes for communication. For example, the communication system can determine, based on channel quality indicators (CQIs) that two client devices of a plurality of client devices are associated with an optimal first mode of a modal antenna. The system can group the two client devices into a first group, the first group associated with communication using the first mode of the modal antenna. The modal antenna can communicate with the first group using the first mode of a modal antenna during a single frame of communication.
