    Abstract: The present invention relates to a modified stainless steel powder composition from which moldings can be formed. The modified stainless steel powder composition comprises from about 1% to about 3% by weight of tin, from about 0.5% to about 1.5% by weight of an additive consisting essentially of from about 2% to about 30% by weight tin and the balance consisting essentially of at least one element selected from copper and nickel, and the balance essentially a stainless steel powder. A process for forming the modified stainless steel powder composition is also described.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for tag and thread assembly for tagged infusion packets. Spaced tags from a strip of tags and a length of thread are laid over each other on the periphery of a first assembly wheel and the thread is drawn out in loops between successive tags. The spaced tags and looped thread are transferred to a second assembly wheel where they are connected to a web of sheet material that is to form the infusion packets. The web is subsequently formed into a series of compartments in which infusion material is contained. The compartments are severed from the web for forming the individual packets and the thread is simultaneously severed between the packets.

    Abstract: A self-regulating apparatus and method for measuring the components of a multiphase petroleum stream includes initially stratifying an incoming petroleum stream into substantially liquid and gas streams. The initial fluid stratification allows a flow-splitting separation to occur as the streams first enter a vertical separation tube. By positioning the inflow line eccentric to the vertical separation tube, a liquid vortex is created by the incoming liquid component to further enhance the liquid/gas separation. The liquid component is then drawn off by a liquid flow line also eccentrically positioned on the vertical separator, thereby minimizing the energy dissipation of the liquid vortex. Both the gas and liquid components can then be individually measured before being recombined at a common outflow port for discharge.

    Abstract: A method of repairing utility a pole having a section damaged by an accident or decay includes the steps of severing the utility pole above the location of the damage; removing the section of the utility pole including the damaged portion, and replacing the lower section of the utility pole with a steel stanchion having a platform thereon with a split socket disposed above the platform. The upper section of the utility pole is then laterally slid onto the platform through a window provided by opening the split socket upon removing one of two shells forming the split socket. The split socket is then closed by bolting one shell to the other. A space between the outer surface of the upper section of the utility pole and the inner surface of the split socket is then filled with urethane foam. The stanchion is made of a steel which forms a protective iron oxide coating, which coating is brown in color so as to match the brown color of the utility pole.

    Abstract: A method is provided for cleaning parts soiled with oil components and seating terpenes from oil compositions using filters having suitable pore sizes to allow terpene components to pass through the walls of the filter as a permeate while not allowing oil components to pass therethrough. A separate aspect of the present invention utilizes a ceramic filter capable of separating water components from a mixture of terpenes and oil, thus allowing filtered water to be reused in a cleaning procedure. Using both types of filters in one operation provides a substantially closed loop recycling system where terpene components can be reused to clean additional articles, water can be reused to rinse such articles and contaminants removed in the cleaning process can be either reused or disposed of.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for severing tubular members below a mud line. The mud is evacuated from the target area of the tubular member and the apparatus is lowered through the inner opening of the tubular member to the target area. A housing of the apparatus carries a plurality of centralizing fins which hinge 90 degrees in relation to their pre-deployed position and centralize the housing in the target area. An explosive material contained in the housing is extruded, by movement of the piston, into a flexible bag secured at a lower portion of the housing, forcing the bag to form a receptacle for the explosive. A sidewall of the bag protector pivots at a right angle to form a support for the receptacle with the explosive.
