  • Publication number: 20090085376
Abstract: A motor vehicle, in particular cabriolet, has a rollover protection device disposed behind the seats. The rollover protection device has a supporting frame, which extends in a vehicle transverse direction and which is fastened to the adjoining vehicle supporting structure, and at least one rollover protection cassette which contains a deployable rollover body. The supporting frame contains lateral upright column sections, a transversely running connecting profile and support elements which are connected to the column sections. • Publication number: 20090066110
Abstract: A motor vehicle roof configuration which can be put away has at least two shaping sections, which are movable relative to one another and can be put away together, for lateral convertible top cloth strips. The shaping sections lie in a row next to one another in a closed position of the roof configuration and have water channels which run approximately parallel to each convertible top cloth strip and in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and also adjacent to the convertible top cloth strips. It is provided that, at least in a closed position of the roof configuration, an inner edge of each convertible top cloth strip together with at least one sealing configuration forms a leakproof covering for the adjacent water channel.

  • Publication number: 20090049939
Abstract: A transmission, in particular a dual clutch transmission, has a plurality of transmission shafts and a fastening apparatus for at least one fixed gear on one of the transmission shafts. The fixed gear is held axially on the transmission shaft by way of a fastening nut. The fixed gear is formed with a recess around the transmission shaft in a region that lies radially below the gear toothing system. A fastening sleeve is positioned in the recess between the fixed gear and the transmission shaft in a section which adjoins a fastening nut. During the clamping of the fastening nut, the latter bears against the fastening sleeve. As a result, the transmission of micromovements to the fastening nut is minimized or prevented, with the result that loosening of the fastening nut does not take place during the operation of the transmission.

  • Publication number: 20090051189
Abstract: A covering configuration has a loading space covering and is arranged behind a vehicle seat in a motor vehicle. The loading space covering extends in a transverse direction of the vehicle and is held at its longitudinal ends in corresponding receptacles on the vehicle. It important that the receptacle on the driver side is configured such that the one longitudinal end of the loading space covering can be inserted horizontally while a receptacle on the passenger side is configured in such a manner that the other longitudinal end of the loading space covering can be pivoted counter to the direction of travel of the motor vehicle into the receptacle and can be latched therein, or vice versa. In this case, the receptacles on the driver and passenger sides are configured and arranged such that installation of the loading space covering is possible from a passenger compartment.

  • Patent number: 7488179
Abstract: A holder for a component on a vehicle has two holding elements fastened independently and at a distance from each other to the vehicle. A first holding element has a first latching element which interacts perpendicular to the plane of the holding region with a first mating latching element which is complementary thereto and is formed on a first end side of the component. A second holding element has a second latching element which interacts parallel to the holding region plane with a second mating latching element which is complementary thereto and is formed on a second end side of the component. The second holding element has a receiving opening which is passed through by a protruding region, which is formed on the second end side, wherein an opening edge of the receiving opening engages around the protruding component region at least on a side remote from the holding region.

  • Publication number: 20090031983
Abstract: An air filter for an air intake system of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine has a housing with a first housing part and a second housing part. A filter element is arranged between the housing parts. An untreated air side of the air filter is formed in the first housing part and a clean air side of the air filter is formed in the second housing part. The first housing part has a housing opening for conducting untreated air into the housing and the second housing part has a housing opening for discharging clean air out of the housing. Further, the housing has a third housing opening for conducting untreated air into the housing, with the housing holding a switchable flap arrangement for opening and closing the third housing opening. The flap arrangement can be activated as a function of operating states of the internal combustion engine. This allows variable, in particular large air masses to be passed through an air filter on account of the further housing opening.

  • Publication number: 20090025671
Abstract: An air intake system of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine has a first collecting chamber and a second collecting chamber. An inflow line supplies intake air to the first collecting chamber. First regions of a plurality of ram pipes are connected to the first collecting chamber and guided through the second collecting chamber and opening out into second regions of the ram pipes. The second regions are arranged outside of and connected to the second collecting chamber. The first regions of the ram pipes are arranged within the second collecting chamber and have adjustable sections. When the adjustable sections of the intake pipes are in one position, intake air is sucked in directly through the first and second regions of the ram pipes. When they are in a second position, intake air is sucked into the second collecting chamber and from the latter into the second regions of the ram pipes. An overflow chamber device connects the first collecting chamber and the second collecting chamber to one another.

  • Publication number: 20090020097
Abstract: An internal combustion engine has a plurality of cylinders and an air intake system. The air intake system is formed from at least one distributor pipe, a plurality of intake pipes, and at least one plenum. The plenum is located between the distributor pipe and the intake pipes. Here, the combustion air is fed to the air intake system via an air guiding duct which opens out into the distributor pipe. The charge pressure of the combustion air is reduced between the outlet out of the compressor and the inlet into the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. A distributor pipe length is dimensioned as a function of an equivalent distributor pipe diameter such that it is possible for a reduction in the charge pressure to be obtained within the air intake system by way of an expansion, with the expansion taking place partially in the plenum in the respective intake pipe and/or within the distributor pipe.

  • Publication number: 20080309126
Abstract: A motor vehicle has a body, a roof that can be displaced between an open position and closed position and having a roof skin with a rear window, and a rollover protection element that can be extended from an inoperative position into a protective position. In the protective position and with the roof in the closed position, the rollover protective element protrudes above the roof skin in the vicinity of the rear window. For improved rollover protection, it is proposed that the rear window is surrounded at least in some sections by a stiff window frame and is attached thereto, and that, in the closed position of the roof, the window frame is supported in relation to the body.

  • Patent number: 7464979
Abstract: A wind-deflecting and wind-guiding device is disposed in the region of a windshield of a motor vehicle. The device is formed, in particular, as a cowling extending in the transverse direction of the vehicle. A prestressing device biases lateral longitudinal end regions of the wind-deflecting device in the direction of the vehicle and in the direction of the windshield and, as a result, effectively prevents said longitudinal end regions from lifting off, even under temperature loadings.

  • Patent number: 7467042
Abstract: A method assesses the functional capability of a gas exchange valve lift adjuster of an internal combustion engine as a function of a measure of rotational oscillation amplitudes of a camshaft. The measure of the rotational oscillation amplitudes is formed repeatedly. In a situation in which the gas exchange valve lift adjuster is to change the valve lift, it is checked whether a change in the measure of the rotational oscillation amplitudes occurs. The gas exchange valve lift adjuster is assessed as being functional if a measure for the change is greater than a predetermined threshold value. A control unit is programmed to perform such steps.

  • Publication number: 20080300732
Abstract: An apparatus for a motor vehicle includes a first control device, a plurality of second control devices, and a bus system that links the control devices. Wherewith an activity of the control devices is dependent on communication between the control devices which is transmitted via the bus system. The apparatus is distinguished in that the first control device is configured such as to deny communication to (or via) the bus system under prescribed conditions, and the second control devices are configured to cancel (interrupt) a communication to (or via) the bus system if the first control device denies the communication. Additionally, a method is disclosed wherein the apparatus is operated in the described manner.
